Location, location, location. This little gem is located in the Berkeley Lake Park. There is a dog park right next to it, tennis courts, a lake, even a library! The rec center itself boasts an indoor and outdoor pool, a basketball court, a dance studio, etc, but my favorite is the weight room. Sure, there is mostly one of every machine, but that is enough when there are only a handful of people there. Then again, I did go in the early afternoon, so that was part of it. Either way, they have all you need for a great workout!

I love the Scheitler Rec Center. No frills but it has everything you need: a nice weight room, plenty of machines, a swimming pool, and a basketball court. I love the sense of community here, its really nice to have a gym that has youth programs, senior programs, and everything in between. Its not just a place where super fit 20- and 30-somethings go. And its really affordable--like, REALLY affordable. I love this place.

Have been going to this gym for about a month and a half now, and really enjoy having a rec facility so close by! The center itself is on the smaller side, a little dated, but has all the of the standard equipment plus some fun extras. The weight room is fully stocked with free weights, cardio equipment, and weight machines.My only gripes is that there is only one rack, so its sometimes a bit of a wait to get it & that all of the equipment is pretty close together. But on the plus side, its not often very busy - I have definitely had the whole gym to myself a couple of times. Just be aware of the busy times of day (usually lunch hour and right after work). The other weird thing is the hours - they close at 8:30pm weekdays, at 1pm on Saturday, and are closed Sundays. So take that into account with your workout schedule!!! I wish they were open a little later and on weekends.The pool is really nice, they have a basketball court and dance/multipurpose room, and there are separate rooms that have other equipment for stretching/rowing/calisthenics. I have taken a few yoga classes and a Zumba class and they were pretty decent. The nice thing about this center is that it is a Regional center, so if you get membership here, you can go to any Denver Rec Center! Only used the weight room. Not great, but works in a pinch. Wasnt as crowded as some of the other rec centers.Pros: Squat rack, bench, heavier dumbbells, not crowded.Cons: Odd layout, missing a few machines

The ballroom rental is a great room to rent but it is costly. Why do they have to change the names to everything!! Berkeley Park Rec. Center is what it will always be!

Nice facility. Clean and has most of what you need for a good workout. Small space though and wish they had bumper plates and a few more bars for leg workouts but otherwise good. Friendly staff too.

1 bench station, 1 power rack in weight room. Not crowded.

My kids love coming here to use the facilities, like basketball and swimming. The only issues I have is theres no ventilation in the basketball court. Only a small box fan. And if youre a parent who is not swimming with your child in the outside pool you still have to pay. Which is not the same for the indoor pool.

Im really impressed over all with this rec center ... Its still hard for a handicap person to go from the parking lot to sidewalk... But hopefully thatll change

Poor customer service with cheap equipment/facilities.

Their prices seem a little high. Especially when Planet fitness is so close and the entire month is almost the same cost for the day here. The gym is good. Everything is clean. But why the high prices ?

This is one of Denvers older rec center and though it looks newer from the outside the inside is not. Its a great place for pool therapy. I havent checked the rest of the center. It does have a season outdoor pool.

Good place for workouts. In the water ( indoor pool) or on land in the workout rooms. Offer classes also .

I love this Denver Rec Center. It is always clean, seldom crowded and has a great dog park and lake with a bike path. The staff is friendly and helpful. The yoga class is awesome!

Got a membership specifically to swim; desk staff has always been cordial and helpful, though lifeguards do seem annoyed to be there! There is a basketball court, weight room, core area, indoor 4-Lane pool and full-size outdoor pool. My only complaint is that I do much prefer individual (private) showers, but theirs are all shared.

Loved this place since I was a kid. They have made a few improvements. Nice playground.

I love this rec center! My work out can vary between swimming, gym, classes like yoga or body sculpting, or a run around the lake.

This rec center is nice. We used the indoor-pool with our children. I would reccomend this place to swim. There is an outdoor pool and a indoor pool.

No lifeguard showed up until after 10.

We really love this place. It has been our dog park over the years. A lake for fishing with my son. And now YMCA camp for my son.
