This facility is small.... And very old. I went in for the first time not knowing what to expect and its one of those dainty old recreational center made like 30 years ago. Their schedule online said they have mens 19+ pick up basketball tonight and I walked in to an old man screaming at a bunch of coed 13 year olds in a disorganized basketball practice. So yeaa

This rec center used to be one of the best rec centers that I have ever been to my entire life. I do not know what happened! it used to be you were able to come in and watch your children swim and not be charged so long as you didnt get in the pool for supervision of your child. but now the government had some kind of crack down on the recreation center and the recreation center now has a charge you just for walking through the door apparently. That was a bit of a let-down Ive come to the rec center many the time Ive spent hes away $60 every time I come. Because I was coming in a large group. So when I come just to the swim side and Im told that I got to pay it kind of hurts a little. Putting all of that aside when I went to the pool area with my children. The lifeguards were just sitting there talking to each other not supervising children. Not paying attention. Not wearing swimming suits. Not looking like they weigh a healthy weight. what I mean by that is that they all were overweight. Which in my opinion is not okay for a lifeguard cuz she can pass a certain test. And if I were in charge of them they would have all been fired. the reason why I say that is there were several times where children needed help in the water and I ended up saving them and I was a guest at the pool. I an ex lifeguard so it wasnt a huge deal might be have to save them. but it just wasnt right that they were just talking to each other not even concerned about the children. One little boy easily could have drowned that day. I will not be back

It was a great place. the front desk people were very nice and welcoming. im from Texas and I really felt at home here. definitely reccomend this place!

Terrible place to go the changing room floor was flooded with dirty water right under the lockers making it a challenge not to drop your belongings or they would soak also the slide is cool but when a bunch of teens came in they had no regard for the baby area even with a small toddler in it guards said nothing

Where very helpful with my 3 year old that wanted mom to stay with her for swimming class..

Love it here! Most of the staff has been around since they opened and it has a small family feel.

Amongst all other Denver parks and rec centers across Denver metro area Ashland is very clean as well as an assortment of free weights and strength resistant exercise machines and nice pool basketball courts . Ashland has different excessive and dance classes as well as art.

Only used the work out equipment amenities. Enjoy the selection of equipment, helpful staff, and local feel of the gym. Can get crowded but all in all great neighborhood gem close to my house.

Great pool and great staff. The head lifeguard, John, is very kind and has been my kids swim teacher for the last ten years. The facilities are clean. My kids love the slide!

One star is too much for this place! I had a membership at this place for 3 years, absolutely everytime ive visited i had a negative experience, ok tried to forget and moved on bcz i wanted really hard to find good reasons to continue supporting places like this! Until yesterday when i come with my 3 years old who loves water and swimming, the front desk guy which usually is an eternally grummpy perm hair lady, told me that i come to late bcz they will be taking a break in 20 minutes and i can try but they may kick you out ok i said is their break we should respect that, every employee loves a break, including myself when working, thrying to find them more reasons to still stay around. My little one broke into tears start crying i had to explain her that we are going to come back when they will open again later which we did to found out that we cant go in bcz they full and that is a waiting list!!!!!!!!!! Well why the hell in the world the earlier i come nobody told me you idiot is a waiting list and you should put your name in or else you are loosing your time for coming back! Obvios my little one was heart broken when she heard she cant swim again! I was just so upset that i turned and left, they dont deserve none of the positive reasons i tried to find for ever coming back or maintain my membership! Not mention the time i had to sign in my kid for swimming lessons( oh everybody are coming from so far away isnt this a rec center where the neighbors should be able to use it?) or when i had to pay twice for membership bcz i couldnt find my receipt and the perm grumpy lady couldnt figure out the system! Just stay away!

As a mother of teenagers, I am teaching my children to respect each other and demand respect back when given. Today, we had a bad experience with John B, a lifeguard supervisor. He seemed like he lacked customer service and insulted my children in front of everyone who was inside the swimming pool. He acted like he was a teenager himself, cursing and yelling at them. It was their first time visiting Ashland, and after this experience it will be our last. Be careful who you put in charge of your life because while John B was arguing with my children, he wasnt doing his job and protecting the lives of the other customers.

Wonderful rec center with 2 pools and a basketball court. Very friendly staff. Cant beat the price.

Best deal in town for a gym! In 2016 its only $20/month for a membership. The sacrifice you make is that the workout equipment is very limited and the space is cramped. Its not usually over crowded though and if you just need free weights, a basketball court, a swimming pool, and a few treadmills then this place a steal!
