They have updated movies at very affordable ticket rates. The chairs and couches are very comfortable to use. They also offered food and drinks at a very affordable price as well. This is the best place to watch the latest movies together with your friends, loved ones, or others. Highly recommended!

This is an absolutely gorgeous independent movie theater! There is an immense attention to detail and a beautiful mix of Mayan inspired artwork architecture and color! Truly must be seen to appreciate!Main theater has maintained the nostalgic red curtain that is drawn up before Showtime. And the balcony is split into two small unique screening theaters! As small as they are their wedge shape allows and entertaining and intriguing space all on their own!

Amazing movie theatre with a great variety of films to watch, comfort seats, and nice staff. I enjoyed my stay here, the seats were pretty comfy, a lot of films you can choose from, nice and tasty food - everything was in the right place, I feel like. This is definitely the right place to visit with your whole family or bring your girlfriend on a date.

Whenever a play or a movie, this is our go-to. The place was clean as they clean the place every time the movie ends. Their cashier was very welcoming and sweet, even gave you the best and suitable seats when you have kids. And also, the best of all, they have a tidy and no foul smell comfort room! I highly recommended this cinema!

I enjoyed spending the first day of the New Year and Decade in the Mayan Theater watching Harriet (which I recommend EVERYONE see)! Going to the Mayan is an experience in itself. The ambience is GORGEOUS.It’s not the most comfortable because of the age of the theater, so be prepared for that. They offer little refreshments to purchase and complimentary water.Next time I want to sit in the balcony area if possible. Pretty cool experience if you ask me ️ #AskShaneequa

My first time ever coming to this theatre. Manager Robert was excellent! He handled our comments to his introduction with humor and had fun with us. I saw The Farewell, which was excellent! I went into the main, lower theatre afterwards and was just enamored by the artwork and feel of this Denver original! I will make it a point to return for more!

Perfectly passable, though not necessarily luxurious or even super comfortable if you see a film in one of the converted balcony theaters upstairs. Overall though, a worthwhile entertainment option for seeing small releases and art films. Friendly staff, relaxed environment, and a relatively pleasant and unique experience.Beer, wine, and very expensive liquor available at the upstairs bar.

Wicked spot with amazing popcorn from my memory. Show up early of you are 6ft or taller as I can only for my legs in upstairs riding against the next row. The projector seemed good but the sound felt like 2.1 or even straight stereo. I would come here alot more if I fit. It also has a great bar with drinks upstairs.

4 Stars: Friendly, fun, vintage, small seats. Landmarks Mayan is a fun theater that offers lesser known and vintage movie options. The seating rows however can be small. Im 600 and myself and two other guys had to sit in three different rows to find one where our knees werent pushed into the seat in front of us. There were slightly roomier rows though.

I suppose its the best old theatre in Denver. It doesnt have reclining seats, but it has its own character! I often come at Landmarks Mayan to see the art house films. I also appreciate that they run a film series of classic films. This place is not for everyone (it isnt so comfy as others), but for me it has a great value. I would recommend to see indie films here as well.

Ah, the old days! That’s often where my mind turns when I review businesses that have been around for a while. The Mayan was operating when I first came to Denver in the early Eighties, and it was an important refuge for those of us living in the Baker neighborhood. Back then, Baker was run-down and a bit sketchy, sometimes even dangerous. Worst of all, most of the rental homes did not have air conditioning! Ours didn’t.I remember going to Famous Pizza and then to the Mayan, escaping from the heat and escaping into the films - European classics, American musicals, schlocky horror, film noir, screwball comedies, silents, old cartoons. There were usually double bills and often themed “festivals.” The Mayan was like a kaleidoscope, back then. The choices were dizzying, and wonderful. This was a great time to go to the movies. It ended with the advent of home video, which was supposed to make all those movies shown at the Mayan even more accessible. It didn’t work out that way, of course. Try to find “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari” on cable, go ahead, just try. It won’t happen! Finding it on DVD is not impossible, but it will take a lot of work. That was a Golden Age, if you ask me... a Golden Age for watching films. I can admit, however, it was not so nice for the theaters themselves. The Mayan was downright rickety. Yes, it was a bit run-down, a bit sketchy. It’s beautiful to behold now, the loveliest of the Denver properties owned by Landmark Theaters. It’s definitely an improvement over the old days, and the films - while not so dizzyingly diverse - are still the best in town.

I just love this old, classic theater. Its a historic building and worth going just for the experience itself. The staff here has always been really friendly. They play movies typical for a landmark theater which I love... You tend to find more art house pieces here than block busters. By the way, they have a nice bar upstairs so if youre looking for a cocktail before a show, come a little early and get a drink there. Also, its in a urban area but parking is no problem... They have a lot just across Lincoln behind the theater. Free and seems to always have space.

A true Denver gem, an Art-Deco Theater rescued and lovingly restored that shows non-Hollywood movies. The Manager comes out to thank you for coming by and the staff are super friendly. Old school seats too, so if you fall asleep, like many do, in the Lazy Boy recliners at the Mega-Plex, take a stroll down to S. Broadway and see a show. Lots of restaurants and coffee shops with in a short walk to go visit and talk about the film after.

Forget movie theater, Movie Palace is the only descriptor which does justice to this masterpiece of early twentieth century architecture. Although it no longer boasts its original single-screen floorplan, & has instesd been split into four smaller screens to accommodate the variety of motion picture choices which modern moviegoers demand, all of its alluring Mayan-inspired architectural details have been preserved wherever possible. From the banisters to the light fixtures and the relief sculptures on its walls to the full service liquor bar on the secondfloor, this theater features an incredible array of beautiful designs culled from indigenous, Pre Columbian motifs. Absolutely the best place to see a movie in Denver! The whole place is a work of art.

Another incredible Landmark cinema in the heart of where south and north Broadway meet. There are three theaters with the main large, iconic screen on the first level. If you have never been before or even if you have, get there a little early and just look at all the great Mayan influenced designs. If you are a fan of not only film but actual movie theaters, the Mayan is a must visit. They also have beers and a full bar. The downstairs theater is by far the best (it has the most beautiful old architecture), and while the two upstairs theaters are charming, they are quite a bit smaller/less ornate. I always love coming here. The bar upstairs has decent prices and selections considering how small it is. The staff are always smiling, approachable, and eager to assist. The inside of the theater has stadium /bucket seating, but you dont come here for the seating, you come here for the atmosphere, architecture, and character of the place. Theres Mayan motif, art, decor, etc hiding everywhere. Its always a quiet and respectful crowd- ie. you wont find a ton of screaming kids, disrespectful teens, or sketchy individuals sitting next to you.
