First up, if you dont like things loud or you need a place to sit between shows, this is not your venue. Thats not a shot at the venue, just a little heads up that this place is loud and it is standing room only, just the way it should be.I can mention the wonderful acoustics youll hear on display with every note played by your favorite band. I wont go into detail on their well stocked bar and the many refreshments available or the fact that if you buy a drink for your fellow and are the DD, theyll just give you water. I could talk about the fact that its clean, maybe not pristine, but clean, and for a music venue, thats pretty amazing. What I will talk about their customer service. We came to this venue to see my wifes favorite band when she was about 39 months pregnant with our first child (a little girl who definitely needed some Bad Religion and Rise Against in her life). We were in line and the doorman noticed us. He immediately called us up and got my wife inside. Remember my comment about standing room only? Well they found her a chair anyway. We didnt pay an extra penny for any of it and they never asked for thanks of any kind. They just reminded us that they can be a hard rocking music venue and show kindness and compassion for their customers all at the same time.

I Loved this venue! It felt very intimate. The staff were so nice and answered my questions without looking at me like I was stupid. The sound and light show was good. Hard to find a place that sounds as good as this. I love that I could watch the show and not worry about someone taller getting in front of me. I was right behind the railing and could see the stage perfectly.

This music venue is awesome. The 4 inch platforms are a huge help in making it easy to see the band from almost anywhere on the floor. They have plenty of staff which makes getting into the theatre quick and easy. The acoustics are good, and it seems like the mixing engineers are good as well.

A great place to see a show with three different bars inside. The only problem can be that at Max capacity which is 1,600 people the air conditioner cant keep up and its an awfully warm show. There is a little bit of seating up in the balcony but other than that you are standing the whole time.

Really neat venue... sound was a touch heavy on the bass (I could feel it in my trachea, and the speakers were having a hard time reproducing it at the levels theyd set), and by the end of the show the smoke machines had put out a bit too much, so it was hard to see the artists with the lights going... but these are minor nitpicks against what was a damn good show made possible by a damn hood venue. Lighting, overall sound, and floor/balcony layout were all fantastic, and every spot in the house was a good spot.

I traveled all the way from Albuquerque, NM to see Good Charlotte here. And I was not disappointed. Aside from the lack of parking (which wasnt the Ogdens fault), I had a great time. The staff was super friendly, and the theatre was amazing. Id definitely travel all the way back to see another concert.

Had an amazing time here celebrating the life of a local artists dad! Bar prices are a bit.... High but the venue was pretty nice. I had fun, found a good spot, though it wasnt packed due to the time of week of the show. I imagine if it was a packed, sold out shoe, this place would be a bit of a nuisance to navigate. Smoking area was also quite small.

Had a great experience at this theatre. Staff, security, bartenders, everything was great for the sold out show we attended on 2/19. For people that complain about the area, must be a nice life you have that you grew up thinking Colfax was a bad neighborhood. Ogden is better than most venues in the USA.

Great place to view performances up close and personal. there. Is a main level basically the moshpit then upstairs there are balconies. We were up there. My husband though acoustics were better up there and I though I saw more of the performance. There is really no seating, but a bar where you can buy drinks. I am not sure how the theater would handle an emergency with thatanynpeople packed into a small space... BTW we saw Blue October who did not disappoint :)

Historic theatre with lots of old-world charm. The view is great from the balcony, though the back of the floor can get pretty obscured. Coat check (upstairs) is run out of a small closet, so it may be a bit overwhelmed at the end of the show. Bars are fairly quick and affordable as well.

Perfect theater for watching a show. Has a floor and balcony section and there honestly doesnt seem to be a bad place to stand here. The lower floor section is on a incline and there is plenty of railing access at the balcony level along with tiered steps for standing. The acoustics are incredible too. The size is small enough to still feel intimate, yet big enough to create an energy filled environment. Drinks are pretty standard price for a concert venue. Pic taken from left balcony.

This is by far the best experience Ive had in a long time. I just saw Empire of the Sun and it was way more awesome than what I anticipated. The audience was really into it. Absolutely amazing although it was a bit crowded, what can you expect from a small show. Everything was great, from the indie band to the cool lighting, but the best part had to be the kind staff handing out water bottles because it got too hot inside due to the large crowd. The place was beautiful and clean. It really changed my view of Denver and its people !! Im going to the next show and Im taking my friends.

Last night, my sister and I were going to a show here and were put into one of the scariest situations Ive ever been in. Long story short, we got there late, so we had to park a few blocks away. While we were walking (about two blocks from the Ogden Theatre), a man sprinted across the street and propositioned us. We said no and decided to turn around and go home, and he followed us three blocks to our car. This also wasnt an outlier. We were out of our car for ten minutes and had 2 things like this happen to us. We also saw another woman have something happen to her while we were driving.I understand that I cant speak to the quality of the actual venue, and so Im sorry to leave a lower rating. But I was looking for a review about the safety of the area before leaving for the concert yesterday. I wish I had seen something like this. The entire time we were out of our car (even before the man approached us) my gut told me something was off and I was in danger. I will NEVER go back here. Please be safe and trust your gut, people!

This is a great old theater hosting a variety of acts. From punk to pop to jam bands, this venue is an old school Denver landmark. This is a great place for concerts, a smaller theater with great acoustics. My wife is not so mobile; the staff there were absolutely amazing in helping her to the ADA section, which is in a very good location to see the concert, and ensuring that that area was ONLY for disabled people and that nobody else entered. A few people tried as it was less crowded but they were stopped by the staff right away. Many of venues could learn a lot from the Ogden. Thank you to all of your staff for making our evening extremely enjoyable and stress-free.

Review №59

The Ogden Theatre is a pretty good place to see a show because it is small enough to get close to performers and has some good sight-lines. Most of the theater is standing room only, with tiers and rails on the main floor making for good vantage points even if standing further back. For less crowded shows there are seats in the balcony area, but even standing at the rail of the balcony is fairly comfortable. The best places for sound are in the middle of the main floor in the tiers above the pit. Often in the pit area the vocals are difficult to hear because the house speakers are even with the stage and not pointed to the pit. However, the pit area can be a lot of fun because it feels so close to the performers. The loudest sound is in the balcony.Denver usually has very appreciative crowds and even for the most hipster acts the audience does more than just stand with their arms folded, as is common in some cities these days.Getting in usually involves a metal detector and takes some time, so plan accordingly.

Review №63

Middle-of-the-pack music venue in terms of both capacity and quality. Sold-out shows can be exceptionally packed in comparison to sold-out shows at the Fillmore, Bluebird, Cervantes etc. Security is reasonable in my experience. No reentry is kind of a bummer. They book a good range of quality talent. The tiered, standing room-only setup allows more places for short people like me to be able to see, compared to a huge flat room like the Fillmore. Ticket fees can be egregious, and I love that I can go to the box office on non-show days to get tickets, especially since I can get tickets to other venues. Not my favorite venue, but certainly not the worst Denver has to offer.

One of the best small venues Ive ever been to. The gradation of the audience area should be taught in architectural school.
