Long Key Natural Area is a great place to have a picnic by the water or walk around and enjoy the Florida scenery. The walking trail has several areas under construction so they werent open, but the parts that were open were very nice. Theres a victims memorial/reflection area which was very serene, if not a tad creepy - what with all the blank stone tables awaiting inscription. All in all I found this place to be a hidden gem and I look forward to exploring more of it.

This is an incredibly spacoius nature center off the beaten path. The bridges over the water filled with lily pads are peaceful & serene. There is much shade through the trails clearly marked with appropriate directional signage. The Broward County Human Rights Coalition reflection area is lovely. They offer picnic tables in shaded open spaces areas - great for lunches, reading books, and taking photographs. This nature center is very quiet and peaceful. There is the occasional wildlife roaming the grounds - to expected when youre in the woods. Parts of the park were closed off, to be expected but still a great way to spend an afternoon.

So I come here quite a bit for a nice peaceful stroll, out in nature. And every time I come here, I get serenaded by the abundance and variety of birds that reside here. From the woodpeckers, to the Cardinals, Blue Jays to Mocking Jays, just cant get enough.

A very nice little natural park. Plenty of areas to walk with nice paved trails. At the right time of year, check with the staff, migrating birds and flowers would be beautiful. There is a very interesting map of how the area evolved over the past half century plus. Nice little ‘museum’ with local items as well.Restrooms are clean.Definitely going to try to visit this park again.Didn’t see any fees required to enter the park.

Beautiful Place for a wedding. The trails are great (watch out for banana spiders)Great place to hop on the equestrian trails in Davie if you ride. Everything is very clean and well taken care of. We had the whole place to ourselves to have a peaceful little walk. Not incredibly long, so good for younger kids or older grandparents to still get some nature in without being too much work. Has a decent amount of interesting history, make sure to stop through the nature cemetery and read up before hitting the trails. Has an excellent little reflection garden, fountain, and trail, would be beautiful for a ceremony. A definite thumbs up.

Very neat park with a mini activity type center for kids to see and learn about history, nature and wild life. There is a trail to walk that has some neat views centered around a pond but the trail itself isnt very long so you dont need much time. Definitely worth stopping by if you are close as it is free.

Beautiful trails with nice and informative nature center. The walking trails arent very long and mostly shaded by beautiful trees. There are also equestrian trails but I didnt use them so I cant say what they are like. No picnic areas but there are some benches and rocking chairs all around the outside of the center.

A wonderful lush, tropical oasis that is a compliment to the surrounding natural grasslands and tropical hammock of the Broward County region. A beautiful lake of lily pads, hiking trails, spots to lounge around with the family, and an informative information center, make this a pristine and awesome in park close to a number of communities.

I came here to take some nature photography and to get outside on a beautiful winter afternoon. I walked the path thats right by the main building and bridge. Very beautiful and so peaceful. I was the only person on the path and I was out there for about 2 1/2 hours taking photos. I want to come back to see the rest of the park. Great lily pads on the pond that make for some really nice shots.

Been here for 2 weddings now. Both weddings were gorgeous. One was during a bright and sunny day and we were able to walk along the trail during the cocktail hour and take beautiful pictures. The second one was recent and had gotten rained out so everything was indoors. However they did a great job having both the ceremony and reception indoors considering the room isnt huge. It never felt cramped either. Another huge plus is that the bathrooms were clean! If youre considering this place for a wedding, its a great option!

I visited July 2018. No entrance fee. Nice natural area on the old eastern edge of the everglades. Has some very large oak trees & other large southern trees. There is a forested area.Good interpretive center, there are rocking chairs on a long verandah overlooking a pond. Didnt see much wildlife- was hoping to see some game. Only saw waterbirds and turtles in the pond. Also saw a baby hammerhead snake on a pathway! The area is isolated so be wary of security issues after the facilities close, after 5pm.There are signs warning of this. If you leave by 5pm this is not an issue to worry about. Its well worth a visit.

Sweet free park right by Flamingo Get, definitely worth checking out for 30 minutes to an hour.Loved the rocking chairs in the sun (great way to read or nap), and a good interpretive center.Their short walk through the forest was much denser and in many ways more beautiful than the flamingo gardens forest, plus I saw a green heron, purple gallinule, and a common gallinule all at once in their pond. The Summer program that Kelly runs is amazing! There are over 20 different games and activities laid out for children to explore. Then, theres over a dozen insects and such set on a lab table to investigate. In case, your little one is too little, theres a wonderful toddler area filled with board books, costumes, and toys. Im able to take my 2 year old and 5 year old. The staff is sure to aid the children, as well. I can focus on entertaining one child, while the staff helps the other on an activity. We are very active in the community and my children are well traveled. This program is one of the best Ive come across! In addition, the Natural Area is full of life to observe! The last time we were there, we saw spiders, a woodpecker, butterflies, 2 large iguanas, and an osprey that just caught a fish! It was quite a creature filled day! Long Key Nature Center and Natural Area is a place worth visiting!

This is a passive park for enjoying the quiet, beautiful flora and fauna while also having a large modern hall to rent with plenty of parking. The hiking trails are in and out of forested areas, flat, and sometimes shared with horseback riders. At the center the roof overhangs, and rocking chairs are there in front of the pond to enjoy. The pond is surrounded by a sturdy fence. In the summer, it is hot, but the center is air conditioned, with clean facilities, although no seating.

This park was once the Kapok Tree Country Club. Now it is a passive park with beautiful features. The Domestic Violence memorial is sad but a quiet reminder of what I see as a silent killer. It has a nature trail, rocking chairs overlooking a pond with lily pads, birds, turtles, and fish. My favorite feature is the spiral walkway which has water flowing along the path and a seating area.
