Boy what a hill. I like going to the mountains for hiking. This hill is great practice for mountain climbing.Families gather here. There is a playground for the kiddies and tables to sit around and have lunch with family and friends.

I love coming over to this park. I can enjoy being surrounded by mature and Im always finding beauty in the tiniest wonders that mother nature has to offer all of us. I call it, wonders hunting, its something that everyone should experience. You will learn to appreciate beauty in the most unexpected ways. As a parent I enjoy taking my son down to this park and spend hours discovering more treasures than we asked for. Of course the playground is amazing and my son enjoys playing in it to. Also, at this park you can see real cowboys riding their horses, kids always are looking forward to seeing them around.

Ive been the flagpole Hill many times in the spring to fly kites. Its the perfect place, wide open with a nice Hill to run up or down so that you can get Loft on your kite. It was 45 degrees and windy today so the dog and I had the park to ourselves. There is a lovely playground for children with some new climbing equipment that is irresistible. Theres a paper trail that goes north and south to the lake. There are some dirt trails with signs that horses go through there. There are picnic areas both covered and uncovered and some great trees. There is an actual little rest area with the flag which is nice and shaded.

I wish more Dallas area parks had such creative play structures. If you go on a nice day, kids of all ages are fully entertained and having fun. You will have to drag your kids away. Nice work Dallas, keep investing in outdoor areas for us to play!

I hardly come to this park, but this time we made the effort on coming to the free Memorial event. They had the Dallas Symphony Orchestra performing, which they were amazing to listen too. Weather was good, and huge amount of people came out to honor those in the military. Fireworks was a great show as well. We are definitely looking forward to it next year.

This is such a great park! They completely remodeled the park and spent half a million dollars on the remodel. You can tell. Now! I’m not a kid! But I still enjoy playing at the park because it’s a great way to expend energy. And this park is perfect for that! They have a huge playground and the grounds are also very nice. It’s perfect for a picnic.Side note: depending on what time of night you drop by, you may or may not witness people canoodling. I told my Dad and he told me they’ve had that problem since he was a teenager. So maybe people will find this review helpful for different reasons.

A great place for families and everyone alike. Clean playground area mostly for kids who have been walking for awhile. There are swings for babies, too. The park is just north of White Rock Lake, and Flag Pole Hill Trail actually feeds White Rock Lake Trail. Convenient for those weekends when the White Rock Lake parking lots are packed!

My kiddos and I were looking for a park with a grill so they could play and I could make lunch, and Flag Pole park is great. Its nicely shaded, has a great view and the grills are slightly away from the play area as to not bother anyone. The only thing I didnt like was the grass going to the picnic tables/ grills was extremely tall and left a sticky substance on my pants and shoes, had the grass been cut it would have been much better. But the weather was very nice for it to be the dead of summer and my kids had a blast. We will definitely be back

Great location and away from busy streets! One thing to mention is the playground equipment is geared more towards older kids, 5+. There is a large green space next to the park as well for any and all activities (playing soccer, setting up croquet or badminton, or capture the flag) There is a really nice pavilion available and lots of shade around the playground itself. It connects to biking trails that lead all the way to White Rock as well. One thing I did not locate was a restroom, with the exception of a single porter potty. Definitely worth a visit! I would recommend bringing yard games/activities too in case the kiddos get bored with the playground equipment.

Beautiful park, very unique, amazing view of the city. It does get a bit crowded. There is a baby area and a big kid area but i do feel toddlers are a bit unrepresented in this park. My two year old was too big for the baby area and too small for the rest of it. The huge slide tarpe is fun but can be crowded or difficult to access for the littler ones. Well shaded!

A refreshingly hidden Oasis off of one of the oldest spirit trails through Dallas, Northwest highway. Large expanses of green for frisbee or soccer. Picnic benches and BBQ grills. Friendly locals walking their dogs. Police presence (headquarters next door) and it closes around ten I believe. Bring the family !

St
Review №92

A scenic place best approached or driven past on Loop 12 which, from below the hill, presents the best perspective of the high flagpole atop the high hill; which is the way all but very few actually get around to experiencing the hill. So its real claim to fame is in the seeing (by the millions) more than in the touching. For Dallas people, youll hear a lot about Flagpole Hill long before you see it or realize you have seen it many times already without taking note.
