Fascinating place after president Kennedy assassinated almost 60 years ago, right at this spot. The old warehouse building at where the killer put the trigger is just standing there, now it houses the museum about this event, with huge portraits of late Kennedy and his wife. Visitors can stand where the killer was, overlooking the plaza. There is a memorial plaza a bit walking distance from the spot.Too much fascinating events happened after the assassination, and so many stories around it, you dont know which ones are true, it attracted peoples interests trying to figure it out. A young amazing leaders life cut short, making people think of the meaning of life, and the crucial part of politics.Great city of Dallas has to bear the burden for the assassination of the president, but it become the visitors attraction spot, part of history, the traffic on the spot is always busy as usual, but it cant submerge the history happened 60 years ago

Amazing spot to see, it was not only sobering but surreal.I always wanted to visit Dealey Plaza as it has been on my bucket listWe toured the whole area from the picket fence to the book depositoryIt seemed way more expansive in photos, but in reality isn’t that big of an area.I would say the shooter from behind the picket fence had less than a 50 yard shot on low trajectoryI remember the day I was walking home from school and heard that JFK had been assasinatedIf you get the chance to, go and see it for yourselfTime well spent

Worth checking out if youre in the area and doing some sightseeing. Itll take you maybe 5 minutes to see the whole thing. Parking isnt free though, especially if you park in the public garage (expect costs between $4 - $10). Otherwise, it is very accessible and has good, brief descriptions of the whats and wheres.

Ive never been here but have always wanted to come. Well, as it would turn out, on my way to Arlington I missed my exit and ended up here trying to get back on the freeway. Seeing the two Xs on the ground marking the spot JFK was shot made me miss a person I never knew in a time I never lived.

Not exactly what I expected..mainly because I didnt have a good understanding of the layout of the area based on old pictures. They have a very pretty archway over looking Commerce street and where JFK was shot. There are 2 Xs on the street marking where the car was when he was hit by 2 bullets. There are numerous tours around the area as well as tour guides. Please be careful about standing on the Xs to have your picture taken...Commerce is a very busy street and people dont slow down!! The entire area is very well kept and depending on who you talk to, you may get some new insight as to who really did kill JFK...

It was surreal to see this spot, and yet it seems so normal as a part of the city. A traumatic day in American history that is a must see. It’s very simple. The museum is a lot more in depth, but if you’re simply wanting to see where it happened without paying entrance fees - this is the place to come.

Being able to view the spot where one of our most beloved Presidents was assassinated is a somber experience. Such a sad day in our nation’s history. The road still has traffic flying by so you have to be careful when trying to capture your photo of the memorial and the X on the road where he was shot.

The knoll was a bizarre place to visit. Its so incredibly famous, yet in reality it is exactly what youd expect. Its a small grassy knoll with a picket fence. I sat down and had a mini picnic in one of the most famous landmarks in JFKs history. Surreal. I appreciate the fact its been kept preserved in the way closest to what it was in 1963.

I was in Dallas for just a few hours and this was the place I wanted to see. Ive seen images of this place so many times in my life that when I was finally here it had an immediate and strange sense of familiarity, like Id been here before.Stand and ponder what happened here. Climb the grassy knoll and hide behind the wooden fence, imagining if the conspiracy theory was true, and if youre standing in the same spot as the real shooter. Take the time to read the quote from the speech Kennedy would have given that day if things had gone differently. Wonder about how the world might be different if things had gone different that day.The historical significance of this place has gravity, you can feel it in the air, and at the same time, the incessant rush of traffic and people going about their day, like this was any other street, reminds you that life goes on.

Its nice to know that some historical places are kept up, too many people try to eliminate history and pretend it didnt happen. This was my dads first time to the plaza, we lived in Palestine when Kennedy was assassinated, Dad said he heard the news on television. The only complaint is that it is difficult to walk around without being bombarded by people trying to sell booklets and other info...cant blame them, theyre only trying to make a living.

We were heading to the Holocaust Museum and actually came upon Grassy Knoll in error. However we loved seeing this part of history which I absolutely remember as being one of those Where were you when JFK died moments. Lucked upon one of the replica newspaper guys who spent a long time giving us the history and locations of all the incidents that happened that day. The coffee shop/book shop across the road is actually fantastic with great quality gifts and memorabilia. The Knoll itself was packed with conspiracy theorists keen to give their take on the whole unfortunate event. Well worth a visit.

Let the breeze blow through your hair as you glance on the past and future of this great city. I also recommend talking to the conspiracy booths that are set up. So.e of the men have a nice set of credentials behind their name. Things are not always what they seem. We must listen to both sides.

5 stars only because of the preserved historical significance. When you arrive there is $12 parking on the right to the museum, general $10 parking straight ahead only the visit the grassy knoll area. There is an attendant that directs and has info, and he also directs a man to people coming into the great knoll area, he is claiming to be a veteran and was a sniper in the during his service, who is hustling for tips by giving an incredible amount of info regarding the assassination of Kennedy. Mostly conspiracy theories, but interesting nonetheless. Unfortunately I had to graciously cut him off. While we appreciated his efforts, I informed him we just completed my Dads last chemo treatment, we were all tired and were only there for a few minutes and wanted to reflect a few moments on our own since ² of us had never actually stopped there. This man is just a bit off-putting carrying a crossbody bag but also wearing a lanyard ID badge. I dont know if he was legit but my dad gave him $5 and he was very thankful for the tip and left us alone at that point. He had alot more to share with us & he was very nice but it was hard to get a word in. I live by the golden rule, but all the while using caution with strangers, we were kind to him and he was kind to us. Do not go here at night.

So this is the grassy knoll! It’s a nicely maintained small area of grass off the edge of the road. Yet, it’s more than that, it’s a historic area facing the piece of road where President Kennedy was assassinated. The area itself is scenic and informative, with markings on the road and plaques on the grass. It’s also, unfortunately, an area where scamming hustlers try to grab your attention and act like they are a tour guide and ask for money, and it’s also a place where people crazily risk their lives to get selfies on the road itself, despite traffic and despite the somewhat ghoulish nature of their choice of photo.Take the good with the bad, but definitely come and soak in the view and atmosphere and reflect on what happened here and what it meant.
