Always a great place for children to play and for family picnics, fishing, swimming, feeding the ducks and geese, etc. I would have given 5 stars except bathroom facilities are not available year round and were not available at all during the pandemic (not even port-a-johns) and the playground is in need of some updates and repairs. There is nylon coated cable rope that has wire fibers poking out and the children poke their hands, handles are broken on the teeter totter and they could really use some rubber matting instead of gravel on the ground....Im curious if the wood portion of the playground is the carcinogenic type that was removed from other playgrounds

Quiet fun place to take our family. Fishing, swimming, play parks, bike and skate park. Individual pavilions with picnic tables and grills. Very peaceful

Nice location to take a lunch. You can pull your car right up to one of the many picnic table patios. The man-made beach may not be much but its a nice view of water for Cortland. Also has easy access to the creek for kayaking.

Its a nice park for walking and for picnicking. The only downside is that its next to the expressway which generates noise

The park is very good. Plenty of booths and grills. Beautiful lake in between. The cool thing is it also have a skate board ring. It could be a little more developed if kept more clean. In our last visit we found few garbage lying near side of picnic tables which were still lying there today. This place needs a little more attention in regard of trash picking or else it is a very best place in town. A small play area for kids. I really like the beauty of this place.

This is like a hidden gem! Very awesome place. Swimming, fishing, grilling.. we will definitely be back.

Even though the beach is closed because of covid, its still a great spot to go for a picnic with the family. The playground is open for use as are the pavilions. If you want a quieter space, drive to the opposite end of the pond and you will find picnic tables underneath trees as well as a sizeable gazebo. Theres also a pretty large, flat, and open field to run or play games, although one side of the field slopes steeply downward to the pond.

Nice park. The water was full of allgey along the shore. The bathrooms were all boarded up.

It is a great place!! Sad the beach has to be closed this summer but took the grandkids and had lunch there. Still can do that!!

Our family traveled to Cortland because it was where my father had lived when his family moved to New York for a few years. While there, we met two of his fathers sisters and their family, one of whom had worked at the old Oneida factory that made cutlery. We had a family picnic at Yaman Park, which was very complete and comfortable .

Good family friendly atmosphere not much to do. Safety is number one priority here which makes this place boring but optimal for kids.

Swimming and the bathrooms are closed this summer due to COVID, but the property is still cared for, and its lovely to sit and enjoy the lake scenery.

This park has everything you would need or expect a park to have. Its the biggest park around with picnic tables and grills. Kids can play at the playground. The best is the fireworks on the 4th of July! It was like an event with vendors and food. The best show Ive seen in years!

Wanna fish? Want to relax when theres nothing to do ? Hell want to read a book in your car while facing the pond. Well look no further. Its not a bad place for a park area next to a miniature suburbs but the fish fight and the suns bright. Oh and it has a skateboarding park there too. Just saying.

Spent the day there for beach day and family picnic. Only complaint is you have to get out of the water every 30min. The lifeguards go over the rules. Kind of ruins the vibe.

Beautiful little park with a lake beach and river all in one! Looks like an excellent fishing spot, place to exercise, relax and enjoy the view, and there is a skatepark! There are several sheltered picnic tables with nice charcoal grills!!!! There is also a boat launch for access to the Tioughnioga River.

0 stars if I could. Seems like it could be an amazing family park until you try to swim their. My family will no longer go here based off our swimming experience its self. Parks beautiful though

Beautiful place to go and relax

Its a nice quiet little park with a pond

The park itself is lovely. Clean, lots of picnic tables, some with little pavilions. BBQ grills. A playground, skate park, and a couple large pavilions to rent. There is a gazebo closer to the river. Its a nice place to eat and take a walk. There is a small sand beach. My only complaints are that the summer swimming is never open long enough, and the swim half of the pond is divided into a little kid section and a regular section (with a shallow and deep divided section). My daughter had a little live vest on and they said shes only allowed to wear it in the little kids section, which doesnt make sense because it seems like its only a foot deep. She wouldnt need it to swim in a foot of water.

Went there for Rumble in the Park. Was a great time, park looks neat and well taken care of. Didnt get to venture off much off the parking lot and roads but it definitely looked like a nice park.

Great little park for a bbq

The best park in Cortland for sure. The beach is man made but a lot of fun and it doesnt ever seem too crowded. Theres a lot of seating and bbq spots, as well as a playground and a skate park. The beach has pretty decent hours and you can fish in the way back too.

A relaxing place at lunch time!

Lots of benches, cazeebo, quiet, space to spread out. Best part is the river and the other little lake where in summer kids and others can swim. Good parking.

Great facility for family outtings. Nice picnic areas with grills, swimming and beach area and a launch site for kayaking. Even a small concession stand.

Well I have to start out with my favorite the fishing is always great and when the kids get tired of fishing with you the kids can either go to the park play some hoops play around in the skatepark or go swim in the Beach area...Great family fun....

Rented a pavilion for a graduation party. Was easy process.

Its alright. It has a pavilions and a restroom but the restrooms arent open to the public. Only for people renting the pavilion for the day. And the play part is okay kind of old and not really interesting for kids above the age of 5. Good for a quick stop. The playground is stones/pebbles not wood chips.

Yaman park is a very nice city park. Well maintained and clean. It offers good access to the Tioughnioga River. The playground is also well maintained and great for the kids. Yaman park also has a very nice swimming area in the summer, it also has plenty of picnic pavilions for large groups, and smaller ones for family picnics.

Fun place to let the kids blow off some steam. Swimming and playground all right there. Also a skate park. Right near 81 so if your traveling with kids for a long time they can get out and stretch there legs.

It was a hidden gem...beautiful little park & it was free. Was disappointed as we could not use the deep end. Also we checked the website before we left and were expecting to use the skate park...guess it hasnt been opened for a few months. A bit disappointed but made the best of it...glad it was free.

Spent a nice comfortable July 4th here. Did a cook out with my friends. Like the new larger grills that have been installed. Even with the swiming area closed, it still was a wonderful day.

Great place to go hang out for lunch, grill out with friends, or skate in the local skatepark. Been going here since I was a kid, and glad to see its still up and running.

Great park for picnics. Private gazebos with picnic tables and bbqs. Lovely beach with lifeguards. Right off the highway.

First time we wnt was last year we love it there. The grandaughters at thier age think its awsome and that we are at a real beech.
