We loved the campground and our site was perfect...but we had this dang street light shining directly on our site all night long. Super bright. We tried to contact the office about it but no one answered. Tent site 66.

Great place to come and view the end of the afternoon and sunset. Bring the dogs, so many people with their dogs playing on the sand, running into the low surf. Not crowded, fly a kite, watch the waves and feel the wind.

Our closest and favorite beach! Not crowded and yet well used.

Easy access to beach. Vault toilets available. Close to jetty and marina. Services are available in nearby Charleston. Close to campgrounds. While signs say no overnight parking, van lifers do not appear to be harassed.

Beautiful beach. you go off the path, youll find this magical match of green moss that makes you feel like youre walking on a cloud. Dont fall for it. Itll lead you to an area thats covered in stickers. We were wearing flip flops and now Im afraid of landscapes.

Lovely beach! Dogs had a blast! Restrooms and trash cans to toss doggie waste. Only wish more dog owners felt the responsibility to pick up their own dogs poop! It amazes me that people dont understand HOW TOXIC dog waste is.

Pretty park. Campground sites are narrow with not a lot of room. Campsite pictures are inaccurate and do not depict sites well. Camp hosts are very rude! Accused us of not being registered. Then told us we couldn’t have possibly registered online, even though with current covid restrictions, this is the only way to register for a site. Camp hosts are not dog friendly at all! Got yelled at “you better keep your dog on a leash!” Even though she was on a leash and not another single person was in sight other than camp host 100’ away. To sum up, if it weren’t for camp hosts I would have given 4 stars. I have camped in Oregon my whole life and have never been treated so rudely.

Bastendorff is my favorite coastal campground. It has a great overlook to view the ocean. There’s a nice park for kids and horseshoe pits. It has all the amenities and is a close walk to the beach.

The sites are large enough for 2 vehicles plus the RV . Beach access is close. Awesome view from overlook with 2 benches to sit on and watch the waves. Its quiet at night until around 10 pm then you have the creepers come around checking vehicles for valuables so keep your stuff close by your side .

Great community campground. The restrooms at the top of the hill were newer and cleaner. Showers were hot and clean. Sites were shady and seemed isolated from the other site. The parking lot offers a beautiful sunset view.

Coolest beach Ive seen in person in Oregon, been to the big beach a number of times. I like to come out here and visit my family & go for drives from one beach to another. Only two (Horse Fall & Shore Aces) charge for parking.Make sure to visit the cave at the south end of Bastendorff.

Great campground. Stayed two nights. Campfires were still allowed, even though it was fire season. Playground for the kids is nice, but a few wooden stairs and a rail at the playground need replaced or removed. Close to beach was nice. Bathrooms flush and have shower. Sidewalk chalk is fun when camping too.

Great campground. Quiet and clean. No full hook-ups, but dump station is free to paying campers. A minute away from the beach. Best to drive as no shoulders on the road. Great view of the bar entrance to Coos Bay. On stormy days foghorn sounds frequently, which I love! Very close to Charleston, South Slough, Cape Arago Lighthouse, Sunset Beach and Shore Acres. Im sure summer is more crowded, but try to reserve the sites near the group camp at the higher level. Fellow RVers we met very nice.

The campsite is nice (the caretaker was grumpy) The kids loved the playground. You can rent the Gazebo $50 a day. It has electricity. Fabulous view of the ocean. Make sure to watch the sun set. The beach is not too far of a walk. There is usually a stream heading down into the ocean that the kids can play in. I dont recommend kids swimming in the ocean. There is a drop off and an undertow. Perfect for building sands castles.

It is such a beautiful park. Unfortunately my stay was ruined by the only vicious goon of a camp host I have ever seen.. This host is in site 41 . She came up to me when I was enjoying the flora and fauna and accused me of trespassing on private property while I was a registered camper. I then learned she had harassed my 13 year old daughter in similar fashion at another area in the park. My daughter was in tears and was very shook up by the verbal assault. The final straw came on the last day of our stay when this maniac raced over to our car as we watched the sunset and started yelling at us to leave because we were in a day use area. When I asked what time the area closed she sneered, 6:17 I looked at my phone and it was 6:18. I told her that Im going to turn her in and she got really snide and said Greg- or Craig- has her back. I never imagined that a park host could be so bile, mean and rude.

An extremely pleasant RV park with a wide variety of spaces. There is no grey or black water hookup but there are 2 dump station and these work well if you have a porta tote. Lots of shade but locations in the D loop are also sunny. Fire wood is available. We came from Texas to beat the heat and we were very successful with most temps in the 59-60 during the day. The staff was very visible and kept the place in order. Its also a short drive to the beach which is very dog friendly. We will return.
