I loved the breadth of displays, much more than I expected. I especially liked the inclusion of interpretive information for youngsters. As new residents, it is important to learn the history of this place, and the Museum is a wonderful resource.

We greatly enjoyed this thoughtfully designed museum. I enjoyed the creative display of native tree species incorporating poetry, and light displays projected onto the floor when you enter. The current special exhibit A-Z was well done. Stop in and spend a rainy winter afternoon exploring local history.

Coos Bay Oregon well I was supposed to be my girlfriend there in Coos Bay and I got a message that she had been robbed at the bus station for $400 in Louisiana so we were to meet there and be at our best girlfriends house but without Nina this was not going to happen because her best friends boyfriend was very jealous and I was stuck out on the streets nowhere to go I didnt know anybody I couldnt get her best friend to come out and meet me face-to-face so I assume that this was just another scam so I found a place to stay and to sleep on the streets and I have my camera and I begin to take naps and illustrations I have made $300 in 3 weeks the people there were very generous and they were taking care of the needy the shelters on the other hand well not so generous I stayed at the house for seven nights and then you have to go back out on the streets for 7 days of course it was always more than seven but I managed to leave Coos Bay and I had went back to Salt Lake City Utah thats where I had came from I was supposed to meet Nina there as well but her and her best girlfriend or evicted from their apartment and they had left for Arkansas leaving me there by myself thinking what now so now Ive been here at the homeless shelter and Salt Lake City since then and meanwhile I have got rid of Nina this was an eight-month endeavor and attempted to be with somebody I really loved and wanted to share the rest of my life with but I couldnt bring myself to do it anymore I hated her for this show I have pictures to show for it and needless to say that the rain it would be warm at night and comfortable and then the day after it would be cool and getting cold and the day after that it would be down in the 30s degrees and all I had was one girl eventually I had gotten a couple of sleeping bags from somebody and that raincoat that I wear that was given to me as well people made sure that I had things to help me get by and without them I wouldnt have made it I may even go back there and retire I like to think that Ive been on one big adventure and hopes of being with the one that I love and that seems to change like the weather now for one to another many are scams and so few are not

Cool little history museum that gives you a quick rundown of the area with some artifacts to view. There are interactive stations for all ages to experience that was fun for the kids and adults. Upstairs is an exhibit for military tattoo art shown on the veterans photographed that is kind of a cool start to an awesome idea but could definitely be expanded on, still loved it. The staff is amazing. My favorite was the elderly man who talked lots, was great with the kids, and has lived in the area for 30+ years. He was youthful yet knowledgeable from time. Thank you!

This new location is 3 times bigger than the old museum. Its very well done with a rotation of exhibits, so youll probably see something new if you come multiple times. In addition, there are classroom and conference/banquet facilities that you can rent, and since it sits right on the bay, the views are great. Plans are in place to constantly improve the museum, so Ill be coming back for sure!

Nice, chatty volunteers. Exhibits are not yet all in place, but worth the price of admission. The display is laid out in 3 areas, as you follow the story. Begin at the far end, in the shore section. It is there the story behind with the native peoples.
