Nice trails surrounded by middle-class neighborhoods.A great place for an easy hike for active young children from kindergarten on up. Even younger children could handle it.We typically bring our senior dogs with us and they do well but they are used to a couple regular walks a day. Completely sedentary dogs might require more patience.

Heaven for mountain bikers. The terrain is diverse: mud, rocks, dirt, rock slabs. Trails through the valley and on the ridge. Beautiful views everywhere. Just dont go off train or you might have to carry your bike up through dense vegetation when the trail dissapears.

I love this park it is well maintained overall and has a good variety of terrain. The only downsides are the parking lot is tiny and the trails arnt marked as well as Id prefer. If you live on the other side of town I wouldnt go out of my way to come here, but if you live in the area its definitely worth checking out!

Great place for a short hike, mountain bike, or after-dinner sunset walk. Has a beautiful ravine and rock formations. In late summer hundreds of common sunflowers along the main trails will cheer you up. Be careful though-- watch out for rattlesnakes and an occasional bear.

Great place to hike! I mean, its terrible! Nobody should go there! Haha!In all seriousness, it is a nice park in the northwest corner of the Springs with some very nice trails. Hundreds of people come through the park and only a few have dealt with rattlesnakes or coyotes. Most people never even see them. Keep your dogs and kids close or they may get bitten. Stay on the trails!Tons of mountain bikes, too. Keep your eyes open as they sometimes come out of nowhere.

Ute Valley Park is a popular place to hike, run or mountain bike and is one of my favorite places to escape for an hour. It is easy to get to yet feels faraway. Some of the trails are wide and smooth, but most twist through trees and rocks. Many trails wind up rocky ridges or through pine forests. None of the trails are very steep and don’t gain much elevation, but they can be taxing because they are rough. There are many view points along some of the ridges that are worth the short climb. Dozens of miles of trails in a small area interconnect, offering a wide variety of routes. If you are a mountain biker, you should be prepared for some technical and twisty trails. There is no water in the park, so bring water to drink. The park is not stroller or wheelchair friendly.

Ute Valley Park is an absolutely joy to experience. The trails are easy to follow and easy to hike. I went with my husband and our 15 month old son who I had in a harness on my back. With proper hiking boots on, the walk up was quite enjoyable despite the snow and mud. Once at the top you are able to see a beautiful panoramic view of the city off in the distance, Pikes Peak, and the valley below. Fellow hikers are courteous towards one another, and it is polite to move to the side when a person on a mountain bike is going through. There is an abundance of birds to see and they have some of the most beautiful calls to one another. Since it is January we did not need to worry about rattle snakes or mountain lions, but from my understanding in the warmer months you need to be on the look out. This is a trail that any level hike can partake in. There are more flat trails for those who are unable to go up more of in incline and of course the more rugged trails for those who want a little more than a simple walk up. Enjoyable for the whole family, including the dogs which greatly enjoy all the sights and smells of a small mountain hike.

Great place for a quick ride. Or multiple laps for as long as you need. All types of terrain in just the main 2 mile loop. Rocks gardens, technical climbs, fast flowy downhills, long mellow climbs, and plenty more. This place is perfect for testing out new gear and setups. You can get a wide variety of riding in a trail short enough to make multiple runs and compare times.

Nice hiking area especially for beginners. We saw hikers, bikers, dogs and families. If you want to start hiking, this is a good starter. Trails are nice, not challenging, unless youre kinda outta shape like we are. You have to get use to thinner air but your lungs will thank you for all the fresh air. You could easily picnic here. Getting here is tricky if following gps. There is a public park and on the far side along the street is where you park to enter. Its not well marked. Dont get discouraged if gps says youre here and its someones house. Continue until you see the public park then youll find the actual entrance.

An awesome free park, with one major downfall. The parking lot only holds maybe 10-12 cars. It does offer beautiful views many dog, and mountain bike friendly trails, and a clearly labeled park map. Overall you can easily spend 1-4 hours here hiking and wandering, depending on your activity level and amount of stops and photos. Another perk is that the park is surprisingly quiet and isolated from city noise while still being in the city.
