Path is well groomed, and hard-packed enough for our scooters (not just bikes). Went on an overcast day, so the breeze made this very comfortable. Plenty of shade in morning and late afternoon, but there would be no sun protection at mid day. Loved seeing the animal life in the marsh, and scrambling around on the rocks. Was there too early in the day for the ferry.

You need the bike fairy-boat to go all the way to the other side. Really a unique experience to ride the path, feels like riding across the ocean. The area has great bike infrastructure. Cool neighborhoods.

Its a beautiful walk out to the water. Bring cash to take the ferry to the other side to continue the walk into So. Hero or go out and back. There are facilities bat Airport Park but not along the trail or at the specific Causeway parking lot.

Great place for family walks, a quick run or a bike ride. Be cautious of the weather and wind as youre quite exposed.

If youre in VT you must go!!! So pretty the water is mirrored and breathtaking, wish we could have biked across but we had our dogs so we only went about a mile in and then turned around. Things to note, there are no bathrooms nearby so plan to go before you even get down to the lake area and be careful not to go down any private drives!

Such a slice of heaven. Free parking, bathrooms, and picnic table for lunch before or after the ride across the causeway. It is absolutely beautiful to ride out into the lake. You can walk or ride out the 4 miles, there is a bike shuttle for nominal charge if you want to go all the way across. Or go in the other direction and easily connect to the 12 miles of Burlington Bike trail.

One of the coolest bike rides you can possibly go on! It is really fun to take the ferry and continue all the way to South Hero.

This was really cool! Not many parks like this one. I biked across it with my wife and we had a blast. Just be warned that if youre out in the sun and prefer to get shade, youre pretty exposed on the causeway so be careful to wear sunscreen and/or clothing to protect you. There are a few places with trees, particularly early on before you get way out in the causeway. If you want to go the whole way you have to take a short ferry to the other part of the causeway, but its a ways out. I may be wrong, but I think the ferry is free, however they need donations to help run the service. Definitely worth a trip out whether on bikes or foot. If on a bike, beware of a few places that got washed out. Sometimes you have to pull over to let others by

This place is beautiful. But if you walk pay attention! Bikers will run you over and off of the walkway without a second thought. It is technically the bike trail but is welcome to all people walking, running, biking, wtv. Cyclists should learn that yielding to pedestrians is the LAW. Best to go here into the sunset or at a time with the least amount of bikers possible. Also my in laws car was broken into on a busier day. They parked down on the side of the road. Id recommend hiding your belongings in your trunks and on your persons.

My friend showed me this beautiful area when we were visiting Burlington. I have been in Colchester numerous times over the past 12 years, but never came here!We came about 1 hour before sunset on a hot day in early summer, so it was quite buggy. Id recommend wearing long pants and sleeves if you can or bring bug spray!Parking was pretty easy and we were able to find a spot quickly. It was a bit of a walk to get out to Lake Champlain, Id say about 10 minutes, but its totally worth it for the views.Once we got out to the water, it was great to walk along the path with the water on each side. I just love seeing the lake and the mountains in this beautiful state! This spot was very peaceful and serene.According to the city website, this is a 4 mile long and 10 foot wide gravel path. We spotted other walkers, bikers and people with their pets. This would be an amazing spot to visit in the early fall!

Its a beautiful linear park. This old railroad line used to go straight across a big part of Lake Champlain. Now its a bicycle and walking trail. It could use more shade but there are cottonwood trees along the way with a little shade.b

Beautiful location marred by inconsiderate pet owners and general slobs... You cant walk 20 feet without seeing piles of dog feces, bags of feces, and tissue along the causeway. If that doesnt break your heart you can enjoy the lake and amazing views of mountains of Vermont and New York.
