A lovely area for a walk and a hike! Very peaceful with a lot of interesting native plants. They had areas where they were taking measures to remove the highly invasive Japanese Knotweed. Having this stuff on my property in Gales Ferry I know how difficult it can be to eradicate from an area.On the side with the large pond (same side as the parking lot) I found Autumn Olive bushes, a native plant in the Silverberry family. These berries are edible and are a cloudy red with silver or brown speckles. On the other side of the area (across MacDonald road) theres wild Northern Bayberry, and Sweet fern (a type of Bayberry).

It was very peaceful, and beautiful. It includes some gardens, many fields, a couple of ponds, and some trails in the woods. Very easy walks, and a great place to take the kids.
