This quickly accessible year round day use park is a great choice for hikers.Located just about 30 minutes from the VT big city, it offers lots of space and trails to get out for some fresh clean covid free air!The network of trails offer varying degrees of difficulty and lengths. Dogs are welcome and should be leashed. They can even swim at Calm Cove! There is another smaller beach with water access, but it is a bit marshy. The Bypass trail is a neat walk along vertical wooden stairs with some peekaboo views of the lake, leading to Calm Cove. The cove has a little space on the rocks and beach to enjoy the quiet view and eat a snack. Please socially distance.Be safe and wear the damn mask.
Beautiful park with lots of diverse terrain. Trails vary from flat and clear to steeper and rocky. Nothing too intense, nice hills and gullies. Beautiful cliffs to swim from and access to the beach (no dogs on beaches, but welcome on trails on leash). The views of the lake are not spectacular, but you can get some nice glimpses. Good for a short 30 minute walk or spending half a day exploring. Great place. Small admission charge at the gate as its a State Park - $4, I think. Ample parking.
Beautiful area! We went with 6 kids and had a great time. We found a really awesome spot that we had mostly to ourselves for a few hours of fishing and a picnic. Everyone caught at least one fish! We only did one trail, and plan to go explore more. The staff were extremely nice. Pricing is very fair.
Nice trails, LOVED there was a doggy swimming area!
Great outdoors socially distancing and loving life
Nice trails, but relatively crowded due to the proximity to Burlington. Need to wear a mask.
Beautiful park and place to hike. Nice quiet little area and extensive trails to hike. What I really like about Niquette Bay is its value for cost. You get several trails in a beautiful Vermont forest. Also there are multiple places to swim. There is a nice beach and a cove where you get your feet wet. The cove is deeper and there are lots of rocks around so walk carefully! There are plenty of maps available and a few trash cans around. Friendly for families and there is parking available. Even serveral Porta bathrooms in the park.Highly recommend for everyone!
Well maintained, beautiful trails that are marked. Perfect clean beaches. Highly recommend it.
An excellent park. Beautiful stone outcroppings and a very mild loop. Lots of excellent oak and birch to admire. There are a lot of signs regarding keeping dogs on leashes and people tend to take it pretty seriously. Overall well worth a day trip!
This is my happy place! Well maintained trails, views, lake, creeks...great place to hike or splash!
Id rather not tell anyone about this hidden gem! Its great, but dont go there...
Nice quite place to enjoy the outdoorsnice walking trials beautiful views excellent beach
A great place for a walk in the woods. Plenty of well marked trails that are easy to moderate hikes. An all season park
Great place for families, easy walking trails that can be used year round. It also has a nice small beach for the summer months.
Beautiful park with lovely trails and friendly staff. Thank you!
A great place for a short hike, or a quick dip.
Nice trails for kids seniors and dogs nice little beach too
Nice staff, clean park, calm cove.
It is a beautiful place for hiking! Loved it!
Great hiking and views.
Nice trails for short walks
Great place for a dog swim
Such a hidden treasure. I had so much fun walking the trails with my family.
Great hike to the beach
This my second year here, this time to visit with and amazing family from Massachusetts..the place is so peaceful and serene..My husband was here last year for work and stayed here for his duration of the job.
Very friendly, helpful staff!
Great nature trails. There are lovely benches to sit on though out the oark. Nice beach and area to swim/picnic or just take in the view. Loved the time spent there.
Great walks for all skill levels, beautiful fall colors and a nice pet beach for our dog to play and fetch at!
I am only reviewing the beach. It is full of weeds, muddy, super shallow, and small. On top of that you have to pay $4 per person to enter the park, and walk half a mile to the beach. Definitely not worth the effort and not even worthy of being called a beach.
Really nice trails and access to the water. Love the details- the library of identification books to borrow for the trails and the dog access section!
It is a nice park for hiking. There are four trails altogether, easy or hard. View is good, but be aware of the mosquitos which are everywhere. Be prepared and have fun.
Beautiful place. Allen trail is relatively short and easy and takes you to the Bay in 0.6 miles.
Terrific well-maintained park for a stroll or short day hike. A full circuit will easily give you a 2+ hour hike, options for shorter loops. Trails are all well marked, level is easy to moderate difficulty, mostly through shaded forest. Views of Mallets Bay and to the west towards the broad lake. Early spring wildflowers are incredible. Good hike for families. Portable toilets.
Great place for a hike. Ive walked every trail here three times now and the views are still amazing. The ranger and attendants are nice and well informed. If you visit leave them a comment card and make sure to say hi to the attendants!
Relaxing and watching nature
Trails are well maintained, water at the point is clean. Good swimming here
Unexpected beauty. Multiple quite paths. Both deep in the woods and on sandy beaches.
Really nice trail network, well marked and well maintained.
Great hiking for a workout, family hike or just to get away in the woods for a bit. Trails are marked and there are extras like tree identification markers and poetry walk. The park ranger, Lisa, is super awesome and goes above and beyond to create a great experience (flowers in the portelets is such a cool touch). Theres a beach for people and a separate beach for dogs at the end of certain trails. Super awesome!
A great place to drop anchor when theres a north wind
Had a great hike
Great state park, several trails and a few areas to hop in the water!
This place is so much fun. There are about 4 or 5 really nicely maintained trails and they all lead to water. Good place to take your dog or family for a hike.
Great location to hike and swim with family and friends.
Very nice little State Park. Multiple hiking trails including one that allows bicycles.
22000 steps for two paths (nice views, not so difficult tracks)
This is a beautiful scenic Park with lots of nice little to use plenty of options for trails especially if you were only want to go out for a half hour or an hour
It was very nice but found a lot of glass on the beach. Remember to wear water shoes.
Great hikes to beautiful lake views and beaches.
Great hiking and swimming friendly beach. Few facilities but very friendly staff and well maintained trails.
Clean, peaceful place to walk!
The park has a number of trails, from easy and very manicured to a little bit wilder and uneven. Streams and wetlands have good bridges, and the trails are clearly upgraded and maintained. Its good for trail running or just going out for a walk, but I didnt find the setting particularly memorable. Id recommend it for folks right in the area who want to get outdoors or to the beach, but there are other trails in the Burlington area that I find more compelling.
This is an awesome little state park for trail runs or a short hike. Gorgeous paths, quiet park and beautiful beach at the end!
Fun trails. Loved the swimming at the cove. Lots of places, benches, tables, to hangout and relax. Park attendant was super friendly.
What a beautiful setting and great hiking. Spectacular views.
Great trails! We were cracking up at one point because three different signs on the same trail said Parking lot .5 miles! Worth the 4 bucks to get in.
Amazing views . Great workout.
Fantastic easy hike with gorgeous views and a place for my dog to swim. Lovely place to spend the afternoon.
Plenty of room, not many people and great swimming spots.
Great Bass fishing in Summer
Nice hikes. Nice views
The beach is nice but dont neglect the hiking trails. This area has some of the highest plant diversity in the state including plants more typical of places to the south and west. There are lots of great wildflowers in mid to late April. You can also find yellow oak here - rare in Vermont.
Wonderful trails with wonderful park staff.Do not miss these hikes!
Beautiful and well taken care of. Staff were very helpful.
I enjoyed the 1 1/2 Mile walk in the woods , peeking at the beach with my dog on leash
Very rugged. Where hiking boots. Spectacular views, swimming, and walking.
Great place to go for walks, especially with dogs. Several great trails with some awesome views of the lake. Also a break for swimming, though not the greatest. They do rent SUP and possibly kayaks at the beach
Pure vermont beauty.
Very well maintained
Very well kept trails and a helpful ranger. Beautiful views of the water.
Nice hiking trails. Not good for swimming though. Even though it says swimming on the VT parks website there is way to much silt and seaweed to swim and its pretty murkey water.
Pay per person. Beautiful hiking trails and a cute beach area.
Mosquito loaded. Water was not clean.
Scenic and easy hike if youre looking for something that doesnt require all day. Views of the lake and beautiful during the foliage.
Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful place to walk. Great for day trips
Great hiking and swimming options
Awesome trails, beautiful view
A great hiking place from novice to more intense. A great black to nature for all.
Great for an easy hike and a quick dip in the lake!
This is a great park on the lake with decent swimming and lovely trails through a nice mature forest. #Scenic
Nice location. Great trails.
A cute, small park perfect for an afternoon with your dogs.
Easy hike, great for kids from big to small. Friendly park staff!
Beautiful, fairly easy hikes along Malletts Bay with occasional vistas of the Green Mountains and a cute little beach as a reward.
Very well taken care of and very nice staff.
Beautiful place to take a walk in the woods!
Just gorgeous !
Great place to hike!
Pretty park with many trails and access to Lake Champlain
Well marked trails, pleasant hiking. Lake Access by walking.
More private then Oakledge, great hiking/walking trails
It was long and fun
