We came here as a group of 7 for my Husbands birthday last night and had such a fun time! Karolina greeted us and introduced us to the concept- she was really friendly and very helpful! The clues are PERFECT! It is all very clever and challenges all the participants to think outside the box and work as a team. I would highly recommend this escape room to people! Thank you Team VS Time for a fun evening!!!

Booked the Save the Queen mission for an early-evening time same-day with ease for a group of four. We learned later that a booking for the time solidifies a private booking, which is brilliant---and strange that we havent seen this before. Raquel (sp?) was an amazing game master, and offered a lot of great insights to the other scenarios; well definitely be returning. The room was excellent; great story, well-thought riddles, and an outstanding production value. We definitely needed to burn through a couple of clues, and just barely escaped.Highly-recommended visit! Well done, Team vs Time... Thank you for a great experience!

This was my 3rd time doing an escape room. The book of spells was terrible. The no clock was a problem, the room was too dark, and they need to invest in 2 way radios. The leaving the lantern outside the room took too long. The response time was delayed. Also when u done in the room why are you returning?

I have been twice now and had a great time every time. The attention to detail is second to none, every room has a different theme but each one is so immersive and perfectly balanced as well, not to easy or too difficult. Definitely the best escape rooms in Chicago. If you dont go youre missing out .

I have done numerous escape rooms and Team vs Time is my favorite. Ive now done all three rooms and hope they come up with a new room so I can come back. Save the Queen and Book of Spells were very challenging with a small group but when I did Gangsters Gamble with a much larger team, we escaped a little too quickly. Each time, the game masters were incredibly friendly and helpful and especially Waldo who went above and beyond to converse with us and also help us with great photo ops that were above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks!

My family and I (party of three) did the Gangster room. Weve done a few escape rooms in the past, and this one was both the most difficult and most fun weve done. As a smaller group, it was difficult but doable, and we got out with a few minutes to spare! We stopped by just a smidge earlier than our reserved time (you never know how parking will be) and the game master was kind enough to get us started 5 minutes early! The room itself was atmospheric and well thought out, and the thematic music was a very nice touch. Without giving anything away, the hint system implemented was genius! If were ever in Chicago again, well definitely be checking out their other rooms!!

This was my first time in an escape room and it was a very fun and challenging experience. Team Vs. Time offered a private escape room, which was perfect for a birthday celebration with family. This was my first experience with an escape room. (Thats primarily the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. I really have no basis for comparison.) The business overall is fairly no frills. Yet, I thought our game (Save the Queen) and the rooms in which it took place were pretty awesome. Additionally, the staff person helping us was polite and kind. Yes, we escaped. But it took four of us the full hour and all three of the available hints plus a bonus hint.

We’re escape room junkies and this is the first one we’ve been to that we’ve wanted to go back and do the other rooms. There‘s just something about this place. The room was hard but we got a few good clues that helped us complete the task. The BEST part about this venue is that you can have a private room. We had a party of 6 in the gangster room and it was plenty of space with a great ambiance. We’ll be back for sure!

So far we have only done the save the queen room, and it was by far the best set design my lady and I have ever experienced. The only thing that could have helped was the time left shown in the room.

I’m an escape room fanatic (I’ve completed over 60 games) and, generally, I only like the super high-tech rooms but I like this place for its charm. The owner ran one of my games at Team vs Time and I loved how enthusiastic and proud he was of his games. Our other game master was a blonde woman (I can’t remember her name) but she was also super nice and great to chat with. I think this place is unique in that their rooms aren’t necessarily flashy and over the top but they’re realistic. In my group of two, we broke out of Gangster’s Gamble with 25 mins to spare; Lost Book of Spells with roughly 5 mins to spare; and we did not escape the Save the Queen (we needed about an extra 3-5 mins). All of the rooms are uniquely designed and I think it’s creative how you have to signal to the game masters when you need a clue. There’s a lot to tackle in the Save the Queen room, and for two people there wasn’t much room for error (which we made a few of) which is why we didn’t escape that room. I think 3-4 people would be a perfect team size for these rooms. I subtracted a star because I think there are some places within a couple of the games where the quality could be improved but overall, I was happy with my experience here and returned to complete all of their rooms.

We were so close at the end, they let us run a couple minutes over to finish which was super nice! The rooms are smaller than weve been to before. Ive done about 20 different escape rooms in Chicago and other cities, and Time vs Team Chicagos Lost Book of Spells is one of my favorites! The room was BEAUTIFULLY decorated and there were a bunch of puzzles and mechanisms I hadnt seen before. We had great time and had tons of fun. The puzzles themselves werent very difficult, but they were varied and utilized different skill sets - something we definitely look for in escape rooms. The most challenging part was finding everything we needed to solve the puzzles!I got a Groupon for a group of 8. It was the best deal but might have been too many. I typically do escape rooms with 5 others, but 8 was just about the max Id recommend for the Lost Book of Spells room. Im not sure they allow more people, anyway. It probably would have been better with 6 people, but the 8 of us got out in 35 minutes! We will definitely be returning for the other room, as well as a new room they will open in a few months. One con about the room: As another reviewer pointed out, there was no timer in any of the rooms. We didnt check for time at all so had no idea how long we were in there for or how much time was left. It wasnt a big deal, but every other room Ive been in had a digital clock counting down the time.

We did Save the Queen with two adults and two younger kids, and as escape room veterans this is one of the best. Engineering of the puzzles is terrific - lots of hard work and creativity went into the design and build. The puzzles were unique and the experience was fully immersive. Authentic medieval design, decorations, and ambiance; challenging puzzles mostly medium difficulty, some medium-hard; fun multi-room layout requiring teamwork and strong communication; lots of concurrent puzzles allowing everyone in the group to contribute. The game is designed so that if you get stuck on a puzzle, you can find alternative puzzles to work on in the meantime, which makes for a less frustrating experience. Extremely friendly staff obviously love what they do - they are all well informed and made everyone comfortable. Enjoyable for families and game enthusiasts of all abilities, highly recommend!

I had a really fun time at this escape room location. The staff was really nice and social. The reason I’m holding out on a 5 star rating is because the ending of the room I did was kind of anticlimactic. What I mean by that is that my friends and I solved the escape room but we weren’t sure if that was the end or not because there was no clear indication that we were done. It wasn’t until the staff came in to congratulate us that we realized we were done. However, aside from this, I really had fun and would definitely return.

One of the best-built escape rooms I have ever been to. The puzzles are challenging enough to make you work for it, but not annoyingly intricate to the point of exhaustion. Each mechanical part to the rooms were sturdy, compact, and worked easily. The ambiance of the rooms are well-thought out as well. Mood-specific music is pumped in at good, low volumes. Enough to add to the mood, not enough to make players shout over it.The staff member we encountered was thorough, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. Everything needed to gain excitement for an experience like this. All this was on top of being in a great location in the Wicker Park/Bucktown area of Chicago. The price was comparable to most other escape rooms Ive been to, but since the nuts and bolts were so well done and maintained, it becomes a better deal than most escape rooms. Highly recommended!#EscapeRoom #Chicago #WickerPark #Bucktown #Team #Fun #GroupActivity

Ive done about 10 escape rooms around the Midwest and this is definitely my favorite so far! Unique rooms with sound effects, decorations -- the full 9 yards! Highly recommend this room to advanced teams as well as first timers.
