Beautiful variety of Artesian foods. Nice variety of local home goods. And you can have a personal wood fired pizza made to order while you shop!
There were limited vendor booths on Saturday and quiet early so not super interesting. Produce looked good and a band was setting up around 10am so maybe it was going to liven up some more. There was an accordion player across the street which added a special touch.
One star review not because the market is bad. The market is great. But it is not properly managed. This weekend I attended. Everyone was masked. No distancing rules were being observed. The exit was closed forcing everyone to spend more time in close proximity with one another. When the local mgt was asked why the exit was closed, he sites town ordinance which states he needs to control head count. No one was counting heads. When asked that it doesnt make sense and increases exposure he basically said he didnt have the manpower to open the exit. I.e. POOR MANAGEMENT. lets increase the time people are in close proximity because common sense cant reign. Wont go back till C19 is done.
On a weekend getaway, we happened across the euro market in Chesterton there was a nice selection of vendors and an enjoyable time
Great variety of vendors. This is a diamond in the rough and provides the community a nice and relaxing shopping environment while supporting small local vendors.
I thought the European Market was very good....you have to wear a mask, of course, but we thoroughly enjoyed it all. I would definitely go back...
My favorite place to go on a Saturday morning. So many great vendor and unique items available.
A good Saturday market for fresh produce, cheese, baked goods, other foods, and gifts. In 2020 not as big due to COVID-19 pandemic. Support local.
Everything looked great. Got a beautiful anklet made from crinoids. Masks required. One of my favorite markets
Great selection of vendors with plenty of product. Willing to take the drive on Saturdays from Munster to Chesterton for this Farmers market.
Prices were very reasonable. Produce very good. Will definitely come back
Fun place to visit and walk off a heavy breakfast
Its always a great day at the market in Chesterton. Leading the way!
This used to be a lot better some years ago, not in a nostalgia sense but in a scale and content sense. These days most of the european market is people reselling things they bought online, or the sale of kit crafts. Theres some food options and theyre pretty good, but there used to be a lot more.a little off topic, theres a global pandemic going on right now, why is this even still going onget out of my town, tourists, we keep having more and more covid cases and im certain the daily influx of people from illinois and michigan have a lot to do with it
Was a very nice experience. Will shop there again.
Many vendors with a variety of items for sale. Something for everyone. Prices are higher than expected.
They always have great vendors!
Impressed with the market they are being very careful masks and lots of hand sanitizers
With COVID virus not what it used to be. The vendors are scarce but good quality. Wouldnt make a special trip but if you are in the area stop by
Great veggies for awesome prices
Not back to normal but still fun... Lots of goodies........
Great variety. Love the open air shopping
Always great produce and food
This is a good place to go with a friend or a date. Stroll about in the shade. Find a few items to take home, and get lunch from the many food vendors. Then eat your lunch under a tree. Perfect
Awesome market with a wide variety of merchandise
Sad this year due to covid.
Get there early! Awesome vendors with great variety of goods plus plenty of fresh produce, floral and so much to look at. It gets very crowded at times so try to get there when they open for the best parking, etc. I always find the best fresh in season produce at great prices.
Actually it was a sad return for an hour drive, the Covid monster has crippled everyone. Only twenty booths
Good variety of vendors!
Interesting assortment of booths ranging from artisan crafts to food. Fun to explore
It was just ok, not the best
This is my second time coming here and this gathering of many different vendors have so many different kinds of items from all over the world! The food and drink vendors are absolutely amazing! This is the perfect place to get something different and unique at the same time. Overall wonderful place to be!
My bf uncle took us there 1st time n awhile great food.
What a lovely market! We enjoyed all of the wares of the many gifted artisans (most especially Glass Phoenix of Michigan City), are still thinking about the pierogis, and enjoying the gorgeous produce! I cant wait to go again!
I really liked this market. My friend Catherine and I went there and overall a 5 star experience. Could be just that Catherine is really good company!
Love it. Have to go early. Prices are good. Fresh fruits and vegetables are fresh and cant best the prices. Better than shopping at your local supermarket. Highly recommended.
Lovely place to spend a Saturday morning. You can find local honey, microgreens, breads & cheeses. I enjoyed the jam (butter) booth today & pleasantly meet by very wonderful people that were truly in love with what they do & the wonderful flavors they get to share with others. Needless to say, it is a must visit place to stock up for you week ahead on all of your favorite delicacies & have lunch while your out too :)
So much more than a typical farmers market! Such a wide variety of vendors and great food options. Very easy to spend the whole morning here.
A fun market with some delicious offerings, but would like to see more local/organic produce and less mass-produced goods. We enjoy the hot food vendors and live music the most.
What isnt there to love. Amazing selection of local vendors, wide array of food, great music. It is also pet friendly! The highlight of Chesterton.
Lot of nice stuff to buy a little bit of everything with a great small town atmosphere. I love small town flee (street) markets great friendly people
Such a cool and surprisingly large farmers market with lots of great local food and an array of vendors. I had a wonderful Saturday here with my family!
I liked the atmosphere of the place. However vendors need more room. Get there early parking is kind of painful. A lot of the streets are one ways. It was very crowded for the area sad thing is there is room to space the vendors out.
In summer we get our weekly produce at the farm stands here. Love it. Come every week we can. Check out the nuns bakery stand. So wonderful!
Good place for a lazy Saturday morning. Alot of good local vendors.
So many different vendors, loved it. Next time going on a empty stomach. Parking is everywhere, very busy. Definitely will be back.
Its okay, but the selection of products is limited compared to previous years.
Nice mix of things. I suggest to some of the vendor not trying to get rich on one day. May have have better luck selling your items.
We love farmers markets and this one is sure to please. Its large and has alot of vendors. We have been going to this one for several years now. Its one of our favorites.
Just wish there were more food vendors! Overall, a fun time though.
Lovely outdoor market with a little bit of everything. From fresh produce to jewelry to home baked goods!
The people here always make my day!
I love the variety that come with this market. You have food vendors, craftspeople, bakeries, and your more traditional farm stands and its got great surrounding businesses.
You have to go to the market at least once during the season. In the spring there is a great selection of vegetable and flowers for planting. Parking can be tricky to find so be prepared to walk or circle the streets for a while. Lots of yummy food to try and live entertainment. Right next to a lovely park where you can have a nice picnic and show off your loot to your friends.
We enjoyed the Market..I was so excited to be there.. it was a fun time..if you get the chance..go!
The European Market in Chesterton located in the park provides local crafts, jewelry, farm produce, food booths & a local musician playing tunes for enjoyment.Parking can be a challenge.
Everything is great! Fresh organic produce, fresh baked breads and pasteries, cheese, honey, maple syrup, different food venders, homemade soaps and lotions, clothes, crafts. Theres a little bit of everything. The only drawback is for drivers. They need someone directing traffic, or rather the pedestrians. People crossing Broadway wont give the cars a chance to go. They cross wherever they please, walk out in front of traffic, and dont let cars have a turn to go. I try to avoid Broadway on Saturdays, even if I am going to the market.
Great day trip from Chicago. Interesting art from friendly vendors and good food.
There is a few vendors dropping out that I normally get my spring plants from. This is market is more geared for out of towners to appreciate. Warning: this market attracts the ideals of bringing their pet dogs.
You have to check this place out! Awesome food and crafts! All kinds of great people here!
Great farmers market. Super nice vendors. Plarking can be tricky but its worth it
All the vendors were approachable and friendly and there was music, food and a lot of variety!!!
Awesome store! We are from Oregon and found a lot of treasures! The staff was friendly and helpful.
Love the products
It was a great day to go to the European Market, not too hot and humid this morning.Alot of vendors were there,Lots of flowers to choose from as well as fruits and vegetables. Honey and eggs.Alot to choose from in food choices if you get hungry.Bens soft pretzels were there,I had a big cinnamon sugar pretzel very hot and so YUMMY and only cost $4.00 .You should check this market out alittle bit of everything
Great day at the market. Olivia Oil, and a cappuccino and a Bens pretzel were the lucky winners today.
I love coming here. There is everything....arts and crafts, produce, baked goods, wine, meats etc etc. People are awesome and super friendly. Local products. They offer fun events for adults, children and furry friends. Its definitely a must visit.
Its great if youre a 60ish female Bernie supporter who sucks down cases of wine. Would like to see more produce and hear less politics
Always a great place to visit local farmer and people with all kinds of things. Fresh local produce, food, crafts, music and so so much more. Great for free family fun
A great to find seasonal fresh vegetables, a selection of pastries, bread and other vendors. A few folks selling food to munch on while you walk around.
Good choices of food and flowers for me. Pet friendly friendly atmosphere.
Loved the small town vibe and live music.
Delightful experience! Great variety of booths. Quality.
A little something for everyone. Love the food vendors
Such nice artisan crafts and delicious home made sweets
Its ok, not to many vendors. But delicious food
Love the European market. Always way too much good food that I want to buy. The crafts are typically a bit underwhelming, but occasionally theres a surprise vendor doing something great.
First time. I was amazed at how much was there. Enjoyed it
When this is open you gave to come. It is amazing to walk around and get honey from a bee farm and fresh maple syrup. There are so many great stands.
Venders are so friendly and knowledgeable. For some this is full time employment. They also had both cash and credit card services at most establishments.
Love this place
Great food and lots of things to buy.
Lots of nice things t buy
Laid back atmosphere with lots of vendors, goods, goodies and more.
Lots of delicious foods and many wonderful craft items
Great exhibits sand artNearby restaurants
Great atmosphere..great assortment. Great people
In my opinion one of the best markets in N.W.I. Try to go every Saturday.
Lots of quality crafts and eats great time !
Really fun and nice Saturday morning.
A little taste of an outdoor European market, right here in northwest Indiana. Dozens of vendors selling handmade goods from dog treats to homemade organic honey and pick mushrooms and artisanal breads. Every Saturday, rain or shine from May through end of October. At the corner of Broadway and 3rd Street in downtown Chesterton Indiana right next to Thomas Centennial Park just two miles south of the Indiana Dunes at Lake Michigan.
It has old world charm
Open 1 day a week, and enticing ads to attract tourist. Whatever!
Great selection of unique items and food
Very good place to shop and delicious food
