The park was not greatly taken care of when we stopped- it was weedy and it looked like it might be the local night time beer drinking spot. However, it changed my understandingof the Battles around Chattanooga. I had been and read about them several times but I felt like I understood better once I had been to Orchard Knob. It is a very good vantage point to take in the terrain of the area.
Park service needs to maintain a little better.
Grew up right next door to the Knob. Im so proud to be apart of this important piece of history
I love it because its a tiny park. Very old iron gates at entrance, historical civil war monuments & cannons, and a wonderful view. Thats all there is. I walk dogs from the Humane Society up the hill and they enjoy the exercise and getting away from the shelter. Nice little spot for a few quiet minutes.
It was pretty cool but I felt like every sign was the same and taken from history book. Not somewhere I would visit again.
Great spot to get a perception of the battle for Chattanooga.
Central location in Chattanooga, nice view of the city on this elevated ground in mostly flat area of the valley. This is where Ulysses S. Grant made his Chattanooga headquarters during the Civil War. Nice monuments provide a good place to take pictures. It has interesting history to teach kids about, especially if youre learning about the Civil War and the Chattanooga Campaign.
Great piece of history and the view is cool. Park on Ivy street and walk up on the Orchard Knob entrance
An amazing place full of beautiful history!!!
Great view of Civil war Chattanooga with monuments on top. Easy climb up paved road. Theyve cut the trees so you can see views General Grant saw
Highly recommended. Youre immersed in history here, with informative signs and monuments, and you can see why certain nearby locations were of such strategic importance during the Civil War.Magnificent views. Hard to forget.
This place has awesome views!!!!!
Fascinating history in the heart of Chattanooga
A piece of civil war history in the middle of historic orchard knob. A awesome view overlooking east chattanooga and a very peaceful spot.
