We really appreciated the uncrowded environment and was able to better observe the animals and displays. Fantastic adventure!!

Such a cool place! Wasnt too crowded when we arrived, but we were in the opening group of tickets. The Rivers half of the aquarium seems way more robust than the Oceans side. My kids agree with that! Their South American and African lakes/rivers exhibits are amazing!I highly recommend patronizing the Tennessee Aquarium if youre near.

A lot of fun and a great location. Perfect for families or dates. There are plenty places around the aquarium to eat or walk around. Make sure to schedule ahead of time online and arrive promptly to avoid extra line time. Once you are in things are smooth and careful without being overly burdensome. And most of the exhibits are operating normally.

The mask rule is not enforced. There were tons of people either not wearing them or wearing them improperly. I heard good things about their COVID-19 policies, so I felt like it would be pretty safe, but that was not the case. We rushed through the exhibits to get out as fast as possible. We won’t be visiting again.

My husband and I stopped here as we were driving through on a road trip. Masks are required and they try their best to keep some distance between groups when entering the building. Set up the time you are going to come online since they are trying to be COVID-concious. A great place to bring children and they have a nice set up so you are constantly looking at something even as you are working your way back to the first floor. I will encourage others to go here.

Tennessee aquarium is better than even GA aquarium because of the hundreds of small exhibits that are well taken care of. Staff is always the best! Hate the parking, but whatever. Always pay for a full day and plan on walking to walnut bridge and decompressing in the park across the river. Still love the aquarium and my favorite in south east.

Great aquariums. The freshwater building was grander compared to the saltwater building. I wish the butterfly garden would have been open but I assume covid-19 is the reason its closed. I am glad the aquarium has time slots but the guests did not respect the 6ft social distancing so the experience couldve been better but overall a nice viewing.

We were told it is rated number 6 in US aquariums. It has a River aquarium as well as a Salt Water and is housed in 2 separate multi storied buildings. Very interesting architecture also. Ordering tickets on line is the only reason that we didnt rate them 5 stars. The website when using an iPhone wouldnt allow us to check out but the family member with an Android was able to buy the tickets. There was no email confirmation though so we had to wait in the ticket line to get them printed out. That was a little frustrating BUT the staff was incredibly sweet. Everyone that worked there was super nice.Actual exhibits were super cool and nice. My 6 year old was scared of the initial escalator ride because of the sounds in the River building. Clean, clean, clean. Animals were super well cared for - no yucky smells - clean tanks and exhibits.

I have had a membership at the Tennessee Aquarium for 9 years. It never gets boring. With a membership, you just present your card and walk in free to both buildings, as many times as you want. Discounts on special days. They do a fine job of keeping the place clean and the exhibits change enough to keep your interest. Staff are friendly and Covid precautions are in place.Currently, the butterfly garden is closed. Shortened hours for Covid, but well worth a visit. It is a nice place to take a walk and spend time around nature indoors. Handicap accessible. My son was in a wheelchair and loved coming here. Special holiday events are especially fun!

I have visited the Tennessee Aquarium several times throughout my life, and have loved the experience every time. From my first trip with my parents more than 10 years ago, to my recent visit, the aquarium has only continued to grow and better itself. The aquarium is spread between two buildings and is an amazing experience. The exhibits are exciting, the animals are numerous and well taken care of, and the location is very clean. Whether you are going for your first time as an adult, or debating bringing your kids, the answer is YES. Visit the Tennessee Aquarium and enjoy something timeless.

After being assured they had policies in place to ensure a safe visit to the aquarium, I had to leave for my safety. There was no time-controlled entry. There was no social distancing. There was no enforcement of mask wearing. I thought I would be safe, but they lied. DO NOT GO HERE if you care about your health. They need a better plan. Just a few workers strategically placed to control the flow would help. Also not letting in hundreds of people into indoor enclosed spaces...

The aquarium was absolutely fantastic, but there were at least 10 people coughing continuously throughout the whole aquarium, with people crowding in tiny places. There were no real covid mitigation measures such as taking temperatures other than signs that the employees hardly cared about. For example, a sign at the entrance stated that noone with symptoms would be admitted, yet a dude was coughing in line and was immediately let in. While the aquarium is beautiful, they care more about money then peoples safety. I was dumb for risking it and going

It was good but Gatlinburgs Aquarium is better hands down. It was hard to walk since the area was so dark through most of the aquarium (could easily have had those sidewalk edge light strips without messing up the view of the creatures. Seemed like there was way less even though 2 buildings. I did like the outside walkways looking like an earthquake or the earthen plates had shifted. Not a fan of how high the parking charge is, paid $10 for 3-5 hours or $12 for day vs Gatlinburg which was $6 for all day.

Rating 4 stars because I was just so underwhelmed with the ocean side of the aquarium. The lake side took my wife and I almost an entire hour to walk through and then we went over to the massive ocean side expecting something twice as long and were pretty dissapointed with the 30 minute or so walkthrough we experienced. It was still great but I suppose we were expecting an actual shark exhibit somewhere along the way, not the 5-10 small sharks we saw. One good thing I will say is that it was EXTREMELY kid friendly! I think anyones kids would love it.

The Tennessee Aquarium is really trying to keep visitors healthy and safe but not all visitors are cooperating. To keep the traffic flowing one way, you have to start at the River Journey section of the aquarium and then go to the Ocean Journey section. Hand sanitizer is provided at several locations in the buildings. Once you are in the building, people did seem to bunch up. Walking through the exhibits was a little less enjoyable than usual because there were more people in the building than you could socially distance from, however, we were there on Labor Day weekend, so that most likely affected attendance. As usual, the exhibits were great! I think one of the most peaceful places is the big exhibit in the Oceans building. There are several quite little areas with benches where you can just sit and watch the fish swim.

This was so much fun! The river portion was the most detailed that I’ve been to out of all of the aquariums I’ve been to. We all very much enjoyed the otters and probably could have stayed there all day! (I was not so impressed by the ocean portion though to be 100% honest. I would prefer the Atlanta Aquarium for ocean!) Although, I figured with everything having to be done with online timed tickets and everyone being so freaked out about Covid and all of their one way only precautions we wouldn’t run into the normal problems that you have every time you go to an aquarium or zoo... unfortunately, not so much. All of the tanks of exhibits were super crowded and no body was social distancing which also meant my sisters were being trampled trying to take a second to look at anything and pictures were ruined a lot by rude people on top of us/cutting us off. Normally, I would have expected this but I had really hoped for better given the current situation. If you’re scared of Covid or worried about social distancing, you might want to wait until everything blows over because this is not the place for you. Regardless, we all really enjoyed our time here.

We got to linger as long as we wanted at each exhibit and spent about 3-3.5 hours total between the two buildings. The aquarium did it right, starting with timed tickets and allowing enough space to view the variest exhibits. There were hand sanitizer stations at each area and places that kids may touch more. That was great to see and restrooms were also readily available as well. The first building had the salt fish and turtles, to which we enjoyed seeing as there were some very big fishes and turtles! You almost feel like you are in the water with them, as you can get very close to view and take pictures.
