Very clean and open park and picnic area. We like taking the dogs for a little walk or watch the sunset. For now the kids and fitness area are closed due to covid but i hope they’ll be able to reopen soon. Plenty of parking space and very few people on weekdays. Would be perfect if it was no so close to the highway but the view of the dam is pretty.

Excellent place to be with your family and group of friends on any sunny day. The place have a well restricted area to play and swim in water and it’s not too deep and hence kids can definitely enjoy the water and they have place to get yourself dressed post swimming. Good place for grilling, group pot luck and for walking. This place has a very good play area for kids with all sorts right from slide, swing and also there are 2 zip lines one for toddlers and for kids. Here there is a small rock shaped stones built up and kids can climb and enjoy. Definitely a good time can be spent here easily and will not be disappointed and good enjoyment is guaranteed!!

It was very pretty. Kids got to get in the water and play. There is no sand its just steps into the water, but not bad to use. Very cute little area to fish and swim.

Kids enjoyed in Zipline and its there both for infants and for toddlers. The play area is very good and there is also mountain shaped arrangement for kids to climb kids. The dam is very restricted with a excellent swim area and definitely its not deep for toddlers/kids and there is dress change room to get dressed post swim. This one is perfect spot for group potluck and the group will definitely have wonderful party time. Good space for walking too and may be difficult on a sunny day to roam out. I would definitely recommend this place for your entertainment of your kids!!

Place was the best. Best playground ever! Never seen anything like it. What a cool place for parents that actually want to have fun with their kids, not just have fun watching them have fun.

Really nice place to go and chill or bring your whole family. Awesome playground with grills close by for picnics and there are bathrooms on site as well. There is a nice spot with stairs so you can enjoy the water too. Great summer spot!

We were baptized there with a cpl of our best friends 2 years ago, and then more importantly...I married my amazing & gorgeous Dragon there last year on 4/23/16! Took mini dragon there for a mothers day outing this year with my mom, and they enjoyed the beach area a lot! (Was still a tad too cold for me, but Im sure its perfect now!) The views are breathtaking, plenty of parking, always a great day when visiting the Dam!! Being from Florida, and as much as I love my saltwater beaches, I never regret moving here, and Im always in awe when taking in all of Gods spectacular work here! Mountains in the background of the beach?!! Yes, I love it!!

Nice shades picnic areas! Playground is nice could have some shade for the kiddos bc the plastic was kind of hot. Nice swimming area. No fee to park or swim which is nice. We are from out of town drove an hour to spend the day with family. Wish we had an area like this around where we live.

The kids had a blast. It wasnt over crowded or anything. They had plenty of room to play or float around without bothering anyone else.

We were visiting the area and this was a free, super clean, family friendly place. Theres a shallow, roped off area for swimming, clean picnic tables, areas for soccer, frisbee and one group had a volleyball net set up. You can kayak on the lake. Highly recommended!

Ive grown up going here. It is a staple of swimming and cooking out in the Chattanooga area. Huge swimming area and ample area for picnics or cooking out and large gatherings! Very family friendly!

Love the easy access. Did river clean up today with some others. I like that there are picnic tables, level ground, and rocks I could sit on and dip my feet in the water.

My family and I came out to the lake in Chattanooga to spend our Memorial Day weekend grilling out and playing on the playground that we saw from the highway. When we pulled up we saw the strange looking boat out there in the water. It had trampolines rope swing and a slide. My kids immediately started screaming and hollering how they wanted to go on it. Not knowing what it was I had to tell them that I didnt think that was available for everybody. It just so happened that the lady that was standing there next to the life jackets overheard us and jumped right in to explain and tell us that it was open for the public and that for just a little $10 an hour per person that we could go out there and play. After we went out for a while and I kept checking my watch knowing that our time was about up and that we were going to have to go even though we were having so much fun they didnt have a lot of people on the boat at the time and one of the lifeguards told us that if we wanted to stay for a few more minutes that we could to get some last jumps in. I really thought that was awesome since my kids were having such a good time and they didnt want to leave. The people that operate this boat are so nice and sweet and theyre just like you were me and the lifeguards did a great job. They were super helpful with explaining to my kids how to go off some of that the jumps and very attentive to making sure that everybody was being safe and having a good time. I would definitely recommend this to anybody or their families to be able to come out and spend the day at the water picnic in the picnic area and even take a break from the water and play at the playground if youre out in Chattanooga this summer.

Our first time at this little dam. The water looks dirty and the first step of the stairs leading into the water has a little layer of slime. The rocks at the bottom of the water are uncomfortable to walk on. But the kiddie park was really cool. We were able to find a parking spot easily despite it being a beautiful day, and so many family’s having parties. I would recommend wearing some type of water shoes.

Good open area, with picnic tables and grills, loots of shades, nice clean restrooms, river beach, and a new kids park. Absolutely fantastic place to take your family for some weekend fun.

Thus playground is so much fun there is thing that you can spin on there is a zipline slides a workout section there are monkey bars and it has swings it is also right next to water so you can play in the playground and swim it is so much fun perfect for when you kid wants to play in water and out of water!

Decent place to swim, unfortunately the restrooms are closed so be prepared to change in your vehicle or drive home wet.

Better then I ever remembered they also have a police officer patrolling park

Awesome playground with updated features that other playgrounds are lacking. Rope swing merry-go-round, big climbing rock, zip line seat swing and rope swing. In the summer you can enjoy the warm water with your family and let you kid(s) play at the playground just a few feet away. Also has sidewalks for walking or bike riding. I ALWAYS forget to bring bread for the ducks, but will try to remember in the future.

My son adores the new playground and its the perfect spot to grill, swim or just relax with a book.

Playground is clean and has some neat equipment. Lots of options at this park, there is space to take a short walk, wade in the river (i don’t recommend), fly kites, or have a picnic. Picnic tables are in the shade which is nice. Always plenty of parking.

Absolutely love the park as it has some of the best equipment around for kids and adults. The park has the standard multi slide and climbing centerpiece that most parks have and it’s always the most used. What makes this park different is the kid safe zip line which I can describe being about 50ft long and includes a car seat type setup for younger kids and a rope with a circular base for the older kids. There are also 2 spinning manual merry go rounds where kids are seating and someone has to start the spinning which my kids enjoyed. And my favorite piece is the workout equipment which has a setup for sit-ups, pull up/chin ups, and dips. This allows me to spend time with the kids while sneaking in a good workout. We go weekly because of this.

Because it is something to do. The only draw back is constant traffic noise from the Dam.

Plenty of parking. Beautiful grounds. Plenty of gazebos and such for gatherings. And if you like the history of Tennessee, you are looking at TVAs Chickamauga Dam.

Really nice place. I enjoyed this area today with my kids. The playground is very clean and well maintained. The swim area is large and guarded off with a floating line. Definitely will be back soon!

The dam recreation area is one of our familys favorite places. The pebbled shore area that is roped off with visible edges is a plus, as well as the playground. There are many walking paths that are paved. It is well maintained and clean. We especially like to go watch the boats at the Marina and do picnic lunches at the tables. Lovely place.

The new playground is wonderful! It can be very crowded, but the water area is wide enough you can try to spread out a bit.There are shaded picnic tables with grills.Its a great place to take the kids in the summer! Avoid the weekend if you dont want to see a huge crowd.

The play ground is awesome! The best one around... It has a zipline thingy for the kiddos, but this kiddo had fun on it too! My favorite place to swim besides swimming in a pool. There is grass and shade trees. Water has pebbles no sand in site... If you prefer sand, try chester frost park.

Went to a friends childs party & it was really nice and peaceful. We went over to the swim area and got in & could barely walk. We either have very tender feet or the rocks are super sharp. Next time well need swim shoes!!

Its a good place to go once in a while if you want to take a swim or just be outside. my best friend and I take his grandson there several times every year when he comes up to visit.

They put in a playground for the kids which I liked. I just wish they had picnic tables or places to sit. The bathrooms always need attention. The boats tend to get closer than they should. Theres never a lifeguard so you have to be cautious.

Good they put in a playground but come on put some sand out by the water. The grass is so itchy. I hate going there but the only reason I do is because its like five minutes away. And then theres that awful dreadful walk from the parking lot to the water especially if you have stuff to tote and God forbid you bring a cart to carry it in because that walk is even worse...plus if you go for the day and get a table to grill you cant let your kids go play in the water while you grill and spend time with friends because the tables are so far away from the water. You cant even see the beach area from the tables. Id take my son more often if I could hang out at a table and be able to watch him swim. If you want a great place to go swimming Chester Frost is definitely the best place hands down...it just happens to be a bit further for me.

Our family visits often and we live quite close so Im grateful its there. If you can go during the week, thats a much better idea than the weekend. People leave alot of garage but the hardworking parks staff is usually on getting it cleaner up (after wkend).

This park is an easy access from road. The area has been renovated to include a playground. Swimming area is rather small but is shallow. The only drawback is because next to main road, it is rather noisy.

I love the view and the park but rarely go because of so many gnats there.

Its a good place to go swimming and fun also they a kids playground public bathrooms and to beat it all its free also they have grills you can cookout on its really a fun place to go and just have a good ol time living life
