Beautiful little dog park, two large fenced run areas, busy today with about 10 dogs, but everyone was really nice and a good time was had by all.

Had my 59th birthday party here. Grandchildren (little ones played right next to the tables, big kids went to the basketball court. Everyone had a wonderful time. Just need to open the bathrooms on Holiday.

Great venue for a quick workout for our almost 2yo granddaughter. It is really hot here so the lack of shade over the play area made for a hot visit. No sliding possible but the swings were mostly okay. Gorgeous walk down the path to the park though. An oasis of sorts.

Great dogs and owners at this park! They have two separate areas, which I think is meant to keep smaller and larger dogs separate, however it isn’t always used for that. I like the two separate parks because one of my dogs can get overwhelmed when there are too many dogs, so we can take her to one side while my other dog plays with everyone. There are also some trails right by the park, as well as a community garden! My biggest complaint is the lack of maintenance done on the park. It’s basically all dirt, and when it rains there are massive mud puddles for days after. For that reason, I don’t come to Azalea very often anymore.

Playground has a lot of options for playing, climbing, swinging, etc, including an accessible swing seat. The dog park is divided into two large fenced areas, which is great if you have a dog who didnt share well, or want to create smaller play groups. There are also some walking trails, creek access, and garden plots.

Good crowds, but lots of mud, not much in the way of shade or facilities. Water dishes are available if you bring your own water.

I was staying in Charlottesville for the weekend and I brought my dog to the dog park here. I’m there were a good number of dogs here for the weekend and he had a nice time playing with the other dogs. It was nicely sectioned off between big and little dogs. The parking was a little confusing as it looked like you could drive right up to the park but turns out that’s not the case.

Loved this park when we first started coming down. My dog loves to run and this place is fenced and far enough from the road to give him lots of exercise and exploring ability.Recently I have been concerned. People will have their dogs off leash next to the enclosure, and they will attack dogs coming up to go into the enclosure. It makes it hard for me and my dogs to get to the enclosure because they want to chase each other. They also run from their owners and in front of cars. There also is a bit of owner issues with letting there dogs play with certain dogs. If your dog is known to be aggressive towards small children, small dogs, big dogs..... then they should not be here. I have seen a few fights between dogs here that result in yelping and crying. There have been owners with dogs that seem starved and sickly. There are other things that are just disrespectful. I filled the dogs water dishes on a pretty hot day, this guys dog came and knocked it over. The guy laugh and left. Leaving 7 other dogs licking at the wet ground.

Great dog park and great park faciliry overall. Its clean and well maintained. Our dogs absolutely love being able to roam and run around the enclosures. Would suggest bringing a towel to wipe them down before they get back in ur car . The last time we were there the grass was still wet and they got all sandy on the legs and undersides but they had a blast

This is such a great community dog park. Close to many walking trails, access to the nearby river. A divided space so dogs of different sizes or comfort levels can be separated. Water source and places for people to sit.

Lovely park with an awesome playground, dog park, basketball court, amd a walking path down to the creek. My only complaint is that there are no water fountains at the playground and kids often become very thirsty. Theres one water fountain down by the dog park but it was broken last time I visited, so there was no water at all for kids to drink.

We were on our way to Richmond from Lexington and were looking for a place to rest for the kids between spots and came across this park. We were amazed at how big it was and easy to find. The kids had fun at the playground and we also enjoyed a lil walk thru the woods by the river which was peaceful. We only stopped at the first part but there was so much more area to explore. We will definitely stop here again on future trips.

My family stopped at this park during a cross-country road trip. It was conveniently located off the highway, and had a small covered shelter with tables so we could eat lunch in the shade. A couple of small playground sets, and baseball field with some other green space nearby made this a nice place to stretch out midday. There was a clean building with restrooms to wash up and fill water bottles.

The dog run in Azalea Park is a nice size, and its great that there are two separate play spaces for the dogs. However, unless its really dry out, youll almost certainly bring a very muddy dog home with you - so much mud!! Ive come to expect that Ill need to bathe our pup after playing here.
