Can’t believe this hidden gem is only 15 min away from Noda! We have never heard of anyone talk about this place but decided to check it out anyway. It’s out of the center part of the city, so we enjoyed that it wasn’t overcrowded like many parks in Charlotte. Loved that it has multiple trail options and that parking was easy and safe. We chose to hike different trails leading to the Robinson Rock Ruins and loved it. Saw some beautiful scenes along the way. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately, the nature center building and playground are closed but the area provides easy access to the Big Oak Trail, Umbrella Trail, and Dragonfly Pond Trail. Its at the back end of Reedy Creek Park. There is a nice garden area by the building which is nice to visit. Sometimes you can pick up trail maps as well. Love all the trail variations!

We were looking foe a relatively easy hike around the Charlotte area that would include great views of nature and maybe some local history. The Reedy Creek Nature Center was a great place to visit, as the hike was very leisurely and enjoyable. At the Nature Center the crew member was very helpful with suggestions on which trails to take and the distances. The trails are relatively flat with a few roots and rocks, and very easy climbs. Several bridges take you over creek areas and provide great photo opportunities. All trails were clearly marked and easy to follow.

Great place for a hike, and to explore the woods. The trails are fairly easy to hike, with the only challenge being not getting lost. On that, grab a map from the nature center. It has mileage listed for each trail, but Im not sure that its accurate. But it is good for navigation. My favorite part of hiking the site is the trail marking. It works very well.

I like how educational this place is! If you have children, they would enjoy learning about plants and animals of the region. College students can learn about ways to protect the environment through engineering amd sustainability initiatives. I like all the options in the gift shops, there are many books, not just for kids but for older readers too.

Great nature trails plus a big dog park. Love taking my dog to walk the trails, lots to see with some historical areas. Trails are not difficult makes for a nice walk and fresh air. Also has a pretty lake you can fish in and a few play ground areas for kids, as well as the nature center itself.

This place is absolutely amazing. I spend about 5 days a week here. It’s HUGE! There is a dog park, baseball fields, basketball courts, hiking trails, disc golf courses, 2 huge ponds that you can fish in, a free nature center, huge kiddie playground, wide open fields, picnic tables, volleyball courts and a new, state-of-the-art American Ninja Warrior inspired obstacle course that is decked out in Panthers colors and logos. It has a button that you hit and it starts your timer on a big electronic scoreboard. Sensors in the ground stop your timer when you cross the finish line. There a 40 yard dash section that does the same thing.. it’s really awesome.

This morning was my first time back to this park in a few years. I went to go fishing, but there was nothing in the lake other than tiny sunfish, 3in long at most. If your trip is based on a fishing spot, go somewhere else. If youre going just to enjoy the outdoors and scenery, absolutely take the trip, it is a beautiful park.

This place was awesome. I had a guidebook that connected several trails to form a 4.5 mile hike. The trails were very clearly marked, and even though Id never been there before I didnt get lost once. The terrain had required a little up and down walking, but nothing resembling uphill hiking. Everything I did a small child could do. I did qear trail shoes though because it had rained and the mud was slippery in some areas.

The large dog park here is rampant with large and on the large side for medium dogs and has its own convenient parking lot. We love this whole park! Beautiful play spaces and trails, and a wonderful and informative nature center with animals and hands-on activities for all ages. We come here with our children to relax and enjoy the outdoors in a safe and maintained environment. They also have a self-serve recycling area. One of the best things about this park, however, is all of the family-friendly programs and festivals. The programs usually allow families to meet and greet animals or learn about native plants. The festivals get so popular that they have to open up overflow parking, but they provide shuttles to the park for free. The staff we have met have all been so friendly. But even if you dont meet anyone else on your visit, this park provides so many quiet and peaceful places to walk or sit.

This park is HUGE first ! I am scared to be out there alone walking some of the pathways so I definitely recommend always bringing a buddy human or K9 the park is very dog friendly and even has a childrens playground swings and monkey bars and it was donated by the Carolina Panthers so it is Pathers themed. They have multiple places where you can actually fish just make sure you are LICENSED in the state of North Carolina. They also have a Nature Habitat for children to learn about all different animals most of which are living in the park. They also have picnic areas and restrooms with water fountains.

Relaxing and peaceful on the trails. People are not respectful of nature however. Huge parties of people spread out all over inside all the pavilions on the grounds in all the free space. Loud obnoxious music. Irresponsible people fishing leaving line tangled in trees and on the ground. We spend nearly every trip gathering fishing line up and disposing of it properly. We love the peaceful nature walk but around the water people have hammocks and chairs placed all in the words small grills and again loud music just totally disrespecting other visitors and the park.

We love the dragonfly trail around the lake. Our 4 and 2 year old can walk the entire thing without getting too tired. Pack a picnic and eat on the dock or in the woods. Either way, stress is reduced, kids are entertained, and its free. Cant beat that. Plus, you can bring your dog. Fun for all. We try to go as often as we can. Our kids call it Adventure Park. Multiple playgrounds, fields, disc golf courses, trails to choose from. The nature center is great for little kids. A dog park and many picnic areas. Get a map to see all the parking and activity options. Do make sure to lock your car, though. Put valuables out of site. Be smart.

This park has a huge dog park that I’m at all the time. My dog goes absolutely wild from the time we pull in and park he loves it there so much! There’s always plenty of dogs running and playing- seriously there is so much room to run around it’s crazy. Only giving it 4 stars because the ground is straight dirt.. definitely don’t go after it’s rained lol. There are a lot of awesome trails to walk as well and last time I was there I saw they were putting in a super neat American ninja warrior training course! Definitely gonna go try that out. Overall, great park.
