We came here last year and what an incredible experience to be able to see the beauty of the moon, the magnificent jupiter, saturn and it’s amazing rings, interesting quasars through the telescope. So clear and it seems so close like you can touch them. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. No entrance fee . You just give a donation. You do have to wear pants, long sleeve shirt, head/ear covering and preferably sneakers because understandably, there’s so much bugs and bug spray didn’t even work. We were hoping to return this year to see the milky way (only seen when the moon is not around and the sky is clear, we were told)and other planets (only seen at certain times), but we might have to forego it because of the current situation with Covid19
Great place to go, nice night time activity.
Went here about a year ago, awesome little gem I never knew about & I grew up in Rhode Island! The man who guided us was knowledgeable.
Such a fun and educational experience.
We had an amazing experience here tonight. Although the night sky was moonlit and hazy from the clouds we learned so much and saw some great sights through the telescope. Scott Macneill was presenting and made our evening even more enjoyable. A physicist who also has some great astrophotography, Scott is a wealth of knowledge and he makes it clear and easy for all to understand. He was also great working with the children who were present tonight. We will be back.
I have been there a couple of time and it is always a fun experience. Bring your kids and ask questions. I always try to bring some cash for donations but the evening is technically free. The summer time is more busy than the winter, and if you are coming in the summer bring some bug spray. My daughter was thrilled to look at the moon, planets and stars.
Best place in Rhode island. If its open you get to enjoy some amazing views. If not its still quiet and the stars are amazing!
The group hosting were pretty unwelcoming and overly hostile about flash photography, despite the telescope being closed. Underwhelming first visit.
The Frosty Drew Center is a great place for environmental education and astronomy.
The lady working there was very unwelcoming. Next park tho
Love it
Fun
A treasure of a place to visit with your family.
Beauty, educational...lots more!
Awesome
