Hidden piece of hidden history! Small grassy area on a hill overlooking the water. A fence outlines the walls of a big wooden palisade by Narragansett and other tribes, who lived and traded there in the summer hundreds of years ago. New info to this lifelong resident, which saddens me greatly. Fascinating to learn.

Beautiful view. Not a whole lot of area to lounge around. But a nice spot for a picnic if just a few people there.

Nice open area to walk around. There is a memorial in the center which says Memorial of Narragansett and Niantic Indians. The unwavering friends and allies of our fathers erected by the State of Rhode Island, 1883. It is an old Native American trading post.
