We did a night of viewing and the staff was so helpful and informed. A bit cold, but definitely worthwhile, with a variety of telescopes. Price was excellent as well. Be forewarned, it is very out of the way if you live anywhere else on Rhode Island than nearby.

The observatory is open most Fridays (weather permits). Very nice and knowledgeable staff and volunteers! Answering your questions as much as they can. Will definitely go back sometime!

We saw Saturns rings for the first time and it was awesome! Very friendly, helpful and enthusiastic staff.

It’s a location for milkyway, star trails photography. Low light pollution. Though a lot cars drive by the observatory not turning off their headlights. But it’s a nice effect if you’re doing time lapse with the observatory as your foreground. This place is busy. Watch out for guy from RI, I think he lives there’s. He talks a lot about photography but his insights I beg disgaree. It’s up to you if you want to take his advice. And he’s very rude when you have bright lights on. So be aware. Other than that a dark site for your astrophotography.

This is a neat place to star gaze. It was my first time seeing Saturn. It is very cool! Also, this is a great place to go on a no frill/creative date. It is kid friendly as well. Thank you Frosty Drew for making the experience possible!

One of my favorite places in RI. The scientists are amazing and happy to answer all the questions my son has. A must visit place, be sure to bring a red light flashlight, cash donation(suggested $5/ person) and be sure to dress warm if visiting on cold nights it can get cold waiting in line outside.

This review is for the Frosty Drew Observatory - Brought the kids for a night that was out of this world! The observatory itself is smaller than I expected, but its amazing. The smaller space is actually a benefit because its more personal, and everyone can get a turn. Walk in and within a few minutes later youre looking at Saturns rings or something else amazing. You want to check the weather before you go because clear nights are best. But even partly cloudy is OK too. The place is free but they ask for a $1 donation. When I was there hardly anyone donated. Come on people, shame on you, its a dollar, be generous! Also try to get there before its too dark because the headlights of cars approaching can be distracting while trying to view. They would benefit from planting some thick shrubs between the parking lot and the observatory to block the headlights. Those who volunteer at the observatory really know their stuff, and have a passion for stargazing. Very impressive.

All i wanted to do was get in contact with someone to give me insight on whether or not the frost dew nature center is open and no one answered . I made 10 separate phone calls. I am disappointed and will never go there until there is better communication and for someone to pick up the phone when the facility is open.
