Very friendly staff/owners are great. Very nice escape rooms, along with optional photos that you can take afterwards.Me and two others went here for our first experience at an escape room, and decided to tackle the hardest 9/10 witchs cavern. Well, it is no joke.Very thoughtfully created room with various puzzles and coding deciphering clues etc to escape. Not to mention when you finally get out , your not really out, it goes into another small room where you start over trying to get out of that room.Brilliant idea and great room full of designs and future mechanisms and triggers, along with custom made works, and props. If you get stuck they have game masters watching and monitoring you, and they can give you up to 3 clues. .We really enjoyed ourselves, and had a wonderful experience. Mostly due to their friendly/staff/owners, and awesome creativity.Id recommend to try them out at least once if you are in town. ..Tell them . ( Michael McCormick,) sent you. Went with a group of friends. This was our first experience with an escape room. We ended up booking the hardest room. We were given the opportunity to switch to an easier room, however we stayed. The guys went easy on us. Gave us a few extra clues. We had a great time! Would recommend this place. The guys that run it are awesome!

Everything was amazing! My husband and I had never done an escape room before and we struggled a bit with our first room but still had so much fun we turned around and did a different room right after that. Absolutely amazing and will recommend to everyone. The staff is amazing and friendly and helpful ! Top notch!

My family stopped here while we were traveling through on a road trip, and wanted something to do on the way. The friendly woman at the desk allowed us to start our adventure early, which was very nice, as we still had a ways to travel. When I first stepped in to the Drone Down room, I was amazed at the immersion and beautiful attention to detail. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the puzzles were difficult without being impossible to solve. My children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, and it was definitely an added bonus that we were able to take our stroller in with us. We didnt solve it in time, but we still had a great time. I would definitely return if I was in the area again.

I went here with my boyfriend yesterday as we were passing through Charleston on our way to the Greenbrier. The owner let us see all five of the rooms before choosing; and even let us in on the history of how everything started and was built. His wife and daughter built and designed all of the rooms making each room truly unique and memorable. We choose to do Deadline and Jail Break. We will definitely be back to do the rest. I have done over 70 escape rooms and even one internationally. Trust me when I say this it was a pleasure playing these games and the owner being friendly and just as excited about the room as we were (if not more) made it a bonus. Overall, my boyfriend and I have a great first impression of Charleston, West Virginia. Thank you!

What a great experience! My 13 year old son and I did this on a trip to West Virginia. It was the best!!! I would definitely recommend Locked & Coded. Memories were made and we have the tshirts to prove it!

I have meant to do this review for sometime. We were in town for other business. Saw there was an escape room. So we decided to try them out. We did Hunters Revenge and Wicked Cavern. I myself have done well over 200 escape rooms all over the world. These rooms were well thought out. The immersion was very good. I highly recommend if your in WV. Trying them out. It will be well worth it. Thank You Locked and Coded for the great time and the Owner was awesome. I am sorry I cant for the life of me remember your name. But you were awesome. We will be back. When were back in Charleston.

Great place for a group event! Our group of teenage boys had a blast getting out of jail!

My wife, 10yo daughter, and 1yo song (huge help!) have become escape room fanatics and will look for one in whatever city we happen to be visiting. On our way home from a week vacation at the beach, we looked up rooms in Charleston since we decide right through there. Locked and Coded came up as one of the top searches so we gave them a call to see if they could accommodate the youngest and see what they’re stipulations would be for trying to get a private room.We were more than amazed when they told us we’d be able to have a private room without having to pay for all the spots in the room, because they love when families do this sort of thing together. This is not the response we get lost places. We’ve been very lucky to have great experiences, as long as we book the rooms late enough to have nobody else join at the last minute. We understand that having a baby in a room can be a distraction and wouldn’t want to bother others who have paid good money for a fun experience. One place we called in Myrtle Beach was going to make us purchase a spot for the baby!!Not so with Locked and Coded. They reserved a private room over the phone and even talked to us about our precious experiences to get an idea of which room would be enjoyable for us.We had a wonderful time, even though we didn’t make it out, and will absolutely be back for another another room!!

I have been here a couple time recently. We went to Drone Down first and the set design is truly amazing as well as the puzzles to get through. Then a few weeks later we went to Hunters Revenge and the set design was lacking in thought. Like it just looks like someone went to a Goodwill for decor and its not very cohesive but the puzzles were great! I guess because Drone Downs design was so fantastic I was let down by the Hunters Revenge design. The game room monitor people are kinda hit and miss and can make the time better or a little more confusing. I remember we were coming out of Hunters Revenge and they were having a birthday party so its definitely kid friendly. I would say it is also wheelchair friendly (depending on the game), I think theres one small step to get in the main building, wheelchair friendly bathroom (at least for female). Parking is a little difficult because its right on the boulevard. I will go back! Lots of fun!!!

Yesterday I took a group of 20 soccer players (age 15) to play the Locked and Coded Escape Rooms. Dividing the group into four teams, the boys played all four rooms at the same time. Three of the four groups escaped and EVERYONE had a blast. The owners and personnel were fantastic and flexible. The rooms themselves were decorated to provide optimal immersion and the puzzles were the perfect degree of difficulty and matched each rooms theme. If anyone is looking for an amazing activity in Charleston, I highly recommend Locked and Coded. Thank you for an awesome experience!!!!!

Its been a while since Ive been there, but they put a lot of effort into their escape rooms and I would definitely recommend them!

Good experience. We had fun and escaped in time. The room was well set up and had interesting puzzles. Good time.

It was just me and my ole man we did the hunters cabin room we got through alot of us being only 2 people and alot of excellent puzzles, the whole set up I was just overall happy and will be back again for the other rooms and maybe get more to come with us but looking forward to it.

Very well done escape room! Weve been to many escape rooms over the years, and this is one of the better ones. The owner answered a bunch of our questions afterwards and was incredibly nice. Very worth it.

It was really fun!! I went here on a date this time and we didnt knowing but we picked the hardest room. Wicked. We didnt make it put but we had a good time. It was very very dim which made it hard to see the numbers on the locks. We were told not to use our cell phones. 1 of the locks didnt have a light at all.

This was our first Escape Room experience. Challenging without being extreme. The staff was very helpful and friendly, and since they were in-between clients, we were able to peak into each of the other 2 rooms. We did Jail Break and would like to come back to try the others. They are working on completing a fourth room with a space theme. Excellent 1-hour team experience.

Was visiting Charleston for the weekend and stumbled onto this gem. I have done a lot of escape rooms and these were 4 awesome experiences! We did all 4 of their rooms in one day and have no regrets whatsoever. The owners and staff were friendly, knowledgeable and clearly love what they do. If you want something fun to do in Charleston make sure you don’t miss out!

This was my first Escape Room. While our team did not escape, I think we did really well for so many first timers who chose the most difficult room. A great story with a totally unexpected twist (thats the only hint you will get from me)!

It was so much fun...trip doors, secret codes...we did one room and intend to come back for more!

This is a great place to spend an hour or two with family or friends. The puzzles here are unique, well thought out and made sense. There was a hood combination of physical and mental tasks and a number of surprises. We tried out the old west jail room and the new space ship themed room. The staff is very friendly and really wants you to enjoy yourself.

I went with my parents, husband, brother, and sister in law for a late Fathers Day trip and the word we could best express for the experience was satisfying. We did Jailbreak and the room was well decorated, the puzzles were well thought out and executed, and everything just felt right about it. The narrative of the puzzles was very clear and at no point did we get bottlenecked while one person worked a puzzle, which is always a drag. We broke out with almost 7 minutes left, which was good considering out widely varying experience levels. The owners are incredibly friendly and seem to really love what they do!

The owners were great, fun atmosphere, creative puzzles, lots of variety, and more. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Celebrated a friends birthday and spent an hour of high quality entertainment trying to break out of jail. Very engaging, high level of teamwork and interaction among the group. It is refreshing to see such a high quality activity added to our downtown. Fabulous staff, a MUST SEE and DO attraction.

Ive played at all the rooms in the Charleston area as well as rooms in Morgantown, Pikeville, Nashville, Lexington, and Chicago - Locked and Coded beats them all hands-down. Three down and one more to go. Cant wait to go back to do room 4. Original themes, great props, challenging puzzles, and friendly staff. First class rooms all the way.

Very fun escape room. It was our first one and they were generous with the hints but paced them so we ended up escaping with seconds left. It was nice they loosened up to make it fun rather than be stringent on the hints or anything. It was a BLAST. Heh-heh

Went to check this place out with 7 of my friends and had a blast. It had everything we wanted... a tough challenge, great storyline, and authentic looking rooms. We beat Jail Break now just gotta go back soon to try Hunters Revenge. Truly fun experience!
