A must see area if you are near Charleston. Be sure to wear boots and watch out for wildlife! The trails are well maintained but it does feel like you are stepping into an enchanted forest. Well worth the drive to visit.

This was so fun to learn about so many plants in the wildlife and we even got to see turtles mixing with alligators and not be eaten. We love the train it was a easy way to see a lot of the plantation and I WOULD do it again.

Just went as an add on to our Plantation garden trip and was amazed by the raw beauty. Wildlife abounds and the Rookery is not to be missed. Youll need a pass code (included with ticket) to enter the garden.

Cool place to see alligators and birds. Probably some flowers and such if you go a little later in the season. Not as crowded as the Magnolia gardens. Keep in mind that the swamp is on your way out of Magnolia gardens. Parking is limited right at the gate to the swamp. You need a code to operate the gate. We walked it, took about 40 mins going slow to take pictures.

I absolutely loved the pizza!! It was delicious! We got Jeffs II with pesto, mozzarella, feta, chicken, pine nuts, and we got mushrooms instead of black olives.Service was excellent!Plenty of seating in the main dining room and the bar. Atmosphere is like a mountain Lodge with cobble stone fireplaces and Lodge pole columns, complete with elk antler chandeliers.

Weve been coming to the Audubon Swamp Garden at Magnolia Plantation since 1996. It was one of our favorite places for bird (and other critter) watching in the southeast. Weve always paid just the Swamp Garden fee as all we wanted to do was visit the swamp, not the plantation. That was $8 per person. The website lists the individual prices for each attraction and the swamp is still $8. So we drove 90 minutes to visit and learned that we had to pay $20 per person + $8 each to tour the swamp too. Dang! But hey, its vacation and whats $56?Well, the Swamp Garden was pretty sad. Maintenance is no longer a priority. What used to be a fair amount of water has reverted to meadow. The whimsical statues are gone. There were few birds or critters and now theres buses driving around with a guy on a speaker giving a spiel about the wildlife. And other guys driving around in ATVs. Its very sad... I dont think we will be back. The plantation was nice enough, but the nature walk is closed with yellow tape across it and no warning so you walk out only to come upon dangling danger tape and find the path all torn up. Clearly the wildlife part of this once beautiful and somewhat wild place has taken a backseat to pretty flowers and topiary. :(

Love this place, first time didnt really know what to expect but it was amazing. Very friendly tour guide, make it even more interesting its a mix of history and wild life. If you are lucky you can see big alligators, also the mini zoo is unique, you can actually walk inside with all the animals. I would definitely go back again.

Love love the Audubon Swamp Garden. My family went at a great time when all of the local birds had their offspring. We were able to see around 30 babies. Its also very beautiful. I do think this is worth the extra money they make you pay. The only reason I did not give this 5 stars is that with the price you pay for admission it should include everything.

Very cool place to visit! Its a long walk and they dont give good directions... There are virtually no sign posts. So two groups of people ended up going the wrong way... Which ends at a private driveway! We had to take a trail through the woods to get back to the parking lot. But other than that, gorgeous place, beautiful scenery, interesting flora and fauna.

Beware of alligators!! They are everywhere including camouflaged along the walking path way. I wasn’t expecting the area to be so open. We were walking down the path, and I see two 7 foot alligators on the side of the walkway within a foot of my husband. I stsrtled us, and we took off running the other way and decided to call it a day. There are no directions or many warnings about them being on the walking path. I would never bring young children to this part of the gardens, and I can’t believe they allow people to go on unguided tours where there are 200+ allogatd

I dont think its fair you have to spend 20 dollars on regular admission and then another 8 dollars for the Audubon nature walk. I only wanted to do the nature walk you should have a price just for that by itself that doesnt have to include admission to something you werent going for. What if you are allergic to flowers ..you stll have to pay almost 30 dollars for runny itchy eyes before you can even get to what you wanted to see...the swamp nature walk?

We traveled from Pennsylvania to see the swamp gardens as we normally do when we visit Charleston & we were extremely disappointed to find that they no longer give you the option to just visit the swamp garden. You have to buy a $20 base ticket, which includes items we had no interest/intentions of seeing, & then it’s an additional $8 for the swamp garden... really lame that you are forced to buy a ticket for things you have to desire to see in order to do something you’d like. Extremely unhappy & disappointed as this stop had always been a staple in our trips. Won’t be returning.

We did the boat tour. A bit pricey at $8 per nosy. This is seperate from admission into the park. All tours are separate. Lots of birds to view. No alligators to see in our trip. That is the only thing tourist really want to see. I wish that had an alligator viewing area to satisfy my guests. I enjoyed seeing the giant blue baron but then again I love bird watching. The tour is about rice which is no longer culivated in those waters. Seemed silly to yak about growing rice 150 years ago when there is so much nature around you.
