Great mile loop around the perimeter and some of the only dirt/gravel trails on the peninsula. On weekend mornings the park is closed to cars, which makes it great for a protected bike ride. Pretty variety of trees and flowers throughout.

Nice part. It had a duck pond and plenty of open field and sitting areas. The jogging/ bike path are well maintained. The park has hours where the roundabout is closed to traffic to open if the road for more walking and biking. This is also good for roller skating

It has been years since I have been to Hampton Park. I ate at a restaurant nearby with a few friends so we decided to take a walk to the park. I had forgotten how pretty it is and all of the trails that it offers to walk. It was a nice day so several people were out there jogging, riding bikes, walking with their kids and walking their dogs. It was a nice family feeling environment. The houses around the peripheral of the park are very nice. It is a great place to take a nice walk.Theres a huge fountain in the center with a lot of Canadian geese. The walkway and bridge around it are very cool but you have to watch out for the landmines that the Canadian geese leave. One of my friends has lived here for over 20 years and didnt know about this park. Shes very excited to bring her family when they come to visit next month. Its very beautiful and its free!!

Multi-purpose park that welcomes cyclists, runners, walkers, children, seniors, etc. Love walking this park during my lunch break. Well shaded. Good people and tree watching. Next door to The Citadel, handsome runners. Lots of pedestrians walking during lunch hours, feels safe. It has pretty, mature trees. Little pond that usually has ducks, our children love to feed them. Good park for all ages. Dogs must be leashed. If your a tourist, I recommend you stop by The Citadel...lovely campus. Vehicle park parking. Olmsted inspired.... Charleston budget.

Rain or shine, I love this place. It’s become a staple for me calling Charleston “home.” You have the outer track (1 mile around) to safely walk, run, bike, rollerblade. Or the inside trails to mix things up. A fountain and beautiful gardens of flowers. The amazing array of trees is what I love most. It’s by far my favorite place to do laps. Also just noticed they have a summer series: live music, food trucks, bring coolers, etc. Love it!

Hampton Park is one of my favorite parks and places to visit in Charleston. This park has so much to offer and see that every time you visit you can see something new that you did not notice before. There is plenty of space and room to move around from all sides of the park and enjoy it.The park is very well maintained and and landscaped with so many flowers, plants, and big trees to climb on that you can look around and really take everything in. This park is perfect for a picnic or just taking a quiet moment to relax and reflect.I have been coming to this park from ever since I could remember and it seems to get better and better each year with constant improvements and good additions.

This was a nice, fairly small park that my wife and I visited on a Thursday evening just after 7PM. Coincidently, the park is closed to through traffic on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6PM-8PM (I believe for March through September). We had no trouble parking (for free), but there was nothing super exciting about this park as a visitor to the Charleston area. It would be good for a run or bike ride while it is closed to through traffic as it has an oval shaped road around the park itself.

Probably my favorite park in downtown Charleston. This fairly large park is beautiful year-round and my favorite place to take my dog on a long walk, go for a bike ride, enjoy a picnic or come with a book to read. I enjoy that is is a little off the beaten path so you’ll mostly find locals here as it’s not really a tourist destination. I generally bring a blanket to sit in the grass but there are plenty of benches and tables as well all throughout the park. Also as someone who enjoys photography as a hobby this can be a great spot to snap some beautiful nature shots.

Hampton Park is truly a hidden gem of Charleston. From the outside, it appears to be a normal park; however, after a leisurely stroll, anyone can tell that the park is special. A beautiful pond like area resides in the middle of the park and some of trees in this area are simply breathtaking. As a local I make it a point to visit the park 3-4 times a year at a minimum.

Hampton Park is a large, multi-purpose outdoor space that is great for families, cyclists, runners, and anyone wanting to enjoy some time in nature. There are two loops around the park - one for walking, the other for cycling and/or running. Ducks, geese, and sometimes swans frequent the main pond. There is also a circuit course with about 16 stations for those wanting to get additional body weight training in. Several water fountains, though know that in the summer, the water will be quite warm!

A great park that needs the City of Charleston to run off Canada s large birds that make walking around very messy plus the water ponds need a lot of work to get the water clear and safe. We loved the selection of hundreds of year old trees. And we want the construction going on there to be speeded up and finished in New York speed.

Great safe location to go running or biking and nearby and a play area for children. Theres also a giant field across the street Were you can play lacrosse, football, or soccer. On the other side of the field and next to the childrens play area there is a basketball court with the 4 goals. There are workout devices all throughout the park and a place where you can feed ducks and other wild birds. Definitely a place worth looking into for a wedding location as Ive seen a lot of weddings conducted here due to the beauty of the location. Surprisingly this is also a great 1st date location.
