My husband and I absolutely love Charleston Pirate Tours! Weve done the tour twice, both times with Eric, and cant say enough positive things about it! Its a great experience and our family learned so much. The tour is a fantastic overview of Charlestons pirate history. I highly recommend taking a tour with this company when you visit Charleston!

Absolutely wonderful! We did the Charleston pirate history tour. Walking tour of many of Charlestons historical sites with their intriguing pirate stories woven in. Tour was absolutely fantastic with tons of information and questions are always encouraged. This tour would be perfect for couples, families with children old enough to enjoy pirate tales, history lovers and pretty much anyone looking for unique and captivating entertainment in the Holy City. Do yourself a favor and take a tour with these folks. Eric and Sabrina will make sure you leave with a smile on your face.

If you like pirates and want to kn ow all about Blackbeard...this tour is for you! Very informative. Be prepared to be overloaded with info! The tour guide was great about keeping us in the shade on a very warm day! We also visited the provost dungeon (bought the combo ticket). The dungeon was cool to see, but the tour guide started repeating some of the same stories from the pirate tour, so we quietly snuck out and finished exploring the Old Exchange building on our own.

The Pirate Ghost Tour was awesome!! Eric was so knowledgeable. He perfectly combined elements of ghost stories, pirate history, and Charleston history to make it a fun and educational experience. Would highly recommend!

Captain Sabrina was an excellent leader, she taught our kids a great deal of history about Pirates and Charleston. There was sword play, a map reading scavenger hunt to look for treasure, and a fun talking parrot named Douzer. Definitely a must if traveling with younger children.

We loved this treasure hunt tour in the heart of Charleston! My girls were absolutely enamored with Captain Sabrina and haven’t stopped playing with their pirate swords and treasure that we found. My husband and I loved hearing true historical pirate stories and my girls have been telling them to our friends and family since we’ve come home. Thank you so much Sabrina for a wonderful experience in Charleston! We will definitely do this again when we come back to Charleston.

This was amazing!! Even better than I thought it would be. The 3 year old and 6 year old I took with me thoroughly enjoyed it, they were engaged the entire time even throughout the history lessons! The live talking parrot was a plus. Adorable flags which the kids get to draw their own art, pirate caps, treasure hunt with a map which they learn to read and follow, and choosing a few items from the treasure chest they discover. This was a “field trip” for homeschool and they absolutely loved it. I did too! I learned as much, if not more than they did.

I wouldnt suggest this tour for small children. The tour guide interacted more with us than our daughter. This tour needs more things to keep the childs attention.

My mom, 9-year-old, and I went on a rainy Sunday afternoon in February and it was GREAT! Eric kept us entertained for 2 hours with SO much history about different pirates of Charlestons past and more, even my 9-year-old was entertained! An absolutely brilliant experience!! Two friends from out of town and I had a wonderful Ghost, Pirate, and Gullah tour- weve done several ghost tours in Charleston and our guide had fresh, original stories that didnt rely on gimmicks to be fun.We were intending to do a regular pirate tour (which I have heard great things about and intend to do as soon as possible) but it was prodigiously flooding on the day we were scheduled to go out, and Charleston Pirate Tours graciously and easily let us switch our reservation.Great time, very fun, a lot of options for different tours and a clearly experienced tour guide. Would recommend.

SOO MUCH FUN!Omg you guys, we have three kids aged 6, 7, and 11 and each one of them enjoyed this tour! Dad and I caught onto some of the jokes that whoooshed right over the little ones’ noggins. Sabrina was a blast and the pirate parrot was a trip! We left with plenty of memories and fun facts no one would have even thought to learn about the pirate history in Charleston. We will carry these memories with us forever. This tour was worth every penny and then some! Definitely would recommend to any family out there that’s got children itching for a pirate adventure!

We did the pirate and ghost tour and had a blast. Sabrina’s delivery is amazing. It’s entertaining and spooky at times. Our group was smaller so we all felt very included in all of the story-telling! The stories made it very cool to be in the area where they happened. We would definitely do more tours here. The pirate information was SO COOL!

The 2 hr daytime ghost tour was fabulous. Sabrina was so knowledgeable about Charleston history and the many ghosts haunting the city. She arrived in a great pirate outfit which was very fitting for the tour. We were a small group of 7 and she kept us all entertained. The weather was cold and rainy but that didnt seem to deter Sabrina at all. Will definetely come back to Charleston when it is sunny and warmer. Loved the tour

What a fantastic tour!! My family was able to book the 2 hour daytime ghost tour and we loved it. Sabrina is full of Charleston knowledge and she is very welcoming. We had 10 people in our group (including 7 kids) and she was very accommodating. She spoke to our kids on their level and honestly they loved the tour!! They were completely engaged the entire time even though it was in the 90s that day. I would recommend Sabrinas tours to anyone.

We enjoyed our experience. This walking tour takes you around various parts of the city. Sabrina had many interesting and entertaining stories and facts that she shared which tied in with the overall history of the area. She kept everyone engaged in the stories. Our family continued to talk about some of the stories during the remainder of the evening. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Our Pirate Captain Eric was a great guide. He was very informed about the local pirates in and around Charleston (he has done years of research on the subject). I highly recommend it, make sure to have good walking shoes and bring water, you will need it in the summer.

This cruise was a FANTASTIC ADVENTURE for our seven and 10-year-old granddaughter‘s ! As soon as you approach the venue you’re greeted by two dazzling and dramatic Pirates who give your child a pirate name and additional gear before you board the pirate ship. The $10 fee for pirate gear is absolutely worth it!! In an artfully scripted drama based around seeking treasure the little pirates delight in a flurry of engaging and well organized events including firing water cannons ! Kudos to the captain and his mate who are accomplished actors and skilled in relating personally to each and every child on board.! This is the perfect treat for a child to explore his imagination and skills through this delightful action-packed experience.Truly a ️️️️️event that is the pride of Charleston!

My daughter (10) and I took the Pirate Tour this afternoon and we had an absolute blast. Our guide Sabrina (a lifelong local resident) was over the top fantastic. We learned so much and and were entertained the entire tour. We absolutely loved the Pirate tour!!! There is so much pirate history in Charleston that two hours is not enough to cover it all. The tour was engaging, funny, historically well researched and appropriate for all ages. Definitely book ahead.

Great activity for kids. We booked during the off season and they still honored the booking even though my son was the only participant. He had a wonderful time, and the guides family-friendly, subtle humor mixed in for the adults made the whole experience educational as well as funny.

This was absolutely wicked!! The guide was super funny and knew so much about pirates - there werent any questions he didnt have an answer to. Im a pirate nerd and his offer to answer any more questions I came up with was super kind as well - definitely would recommend this! Very informative! It wound up just being my boyfriend (obsessed with pirates) and I. It was nice to see that the tour guide was genuinely interested in what he was explaining. Definitely more interesting than thr average history lesson.

We did this tour with 3 small children and it was great! Our pirate was patient and very kind. She called to make sure we found the place okay (we werent there very early) and she had lots of great info. I had a baby (not participative), a 3 year old, and a 5 year old. The older boys loved it! They were excited about finding treasure and the parrot. Just a few notes - parking garage on email is a 15 minute walk, and the bathrooms that youll pass near the Olde Exchange are about a 1/2 mile away from the park - and those are the closest bathrooms. If you are bringing little ones, might want to make sure that they dont have to go halfway through. It was very fun, my kids love the swords, little treasure they get at the end, and making their own map. The information that she gave was a bit old and very detailed, but that was the interesting part for the adults. The kids didnt seem to mind as long as they got to move onto the next spot on the map. Highly recommend

We had a group of 11 with 7 kids age 5 - 12. We went on the 2-hour pirate tour and had a great time. It was very interesting to hear all the pirate history, lore, and see how it all related to the beautiful town of Charleston. Highly recommended!

We had the best time yesterday at the daytime Sunday Ghost Tour with Sabrina. She was AWESOME! We took two kids with us, ages 6 and 8 and they were blown away! They had the best time learning about the history of Charleston and all of the spooks around town. My son even slept with his checkered shoes on the floor near his bed because Sabrina told him it would keep him safe from the spirits:)

This tour is wonderful! Sabrina is a very good storyteller, weaving history and local lore beautifully into her tour. We were lucky to have her as a tour guide and this experience was the highlight of our short trip to Charleston. Our whole family enjoyed Sabrina but she really connected with our 12 and 13 year olds. She made it fun, informative and educational for our whole family!

Eric, the pirate, is TOTALLY AMAZING! We spent over 2+ hours walking the back streets of Charleston as he shared his expertise on all aspects regarding pirates. He is a walking encyclopedia on the topic as he walks you chronologically through the years of pirating. I encourage you to experience this memorable tour! Youll never regret it :-)

We booked the tour for when my brother and Dad were in town. They accommodated us on the day before Thanksgiving for a private tour and we had a blast. SO many things I didnt know about pirates and the stories really fill in a different side of the local history. Eric is a great storyteller and the tour flew by. Definitely recommend!!

We had a wonderful time during the kids pirate tour last week!! My normally very shy daughter immediately started talking to Sabrina and worked with her on sword fighting and finding the different points on the map. As soon as it was over she asked when she could go again! We will definitely do another tour when we come back to Charleston.

Best Ghost Walk Ever!We have been on numerous ghost walks throughout the U.S. and Europe; this was without a doubt the BEST one weve ever been on! Its all about Eric. His knowledge of Charleston, his passion for the stories he tells and his ability to tailor the tour based on the guests, is what makes this ghost walk so unique. We also loved the fact that he focuses on pirates of Charleston (which we absolutely loved). During part of the tour, we sat on a bench and overlooked the bay where the pirates blockaded hundreds of years ago. Hearing those tales and seeing the real life water where it happened gave me chills. He also tells of numerous ghostly stories that will have you looking over your shoulder the rest of the night!If you are in Charleston, there is no better place to spend your evening than this Ghost/Pirate Tour! A+++

My family went on Eric’s tour on March 11th and it was absolutely wonderful! We had been on a few tours prior to this one and this tour was by far the most informative and fun! I will recommend you to everyone I know! You could tell that it wasn’t just a rehearsed bunch of jargon and that Eric had a real passion for everything he was talking about. We will definitely do this again next time we’re in Charleston!

Six stars if I could. We went to Erics tour on 29 December 2015, and we were both captivated by Erics extremely characteristic rendition of pirate stories (which are incredibly colourful as one might imagine) and in fact a little surprised by how crucial a part pirates played in Charlestons nascent. It was a superb way to understand the history of Charleston, and not just a little bit fun too.Oh, and there was a back story. We had booked and paid for a tour the day before, but were stuck in another city with a tornado unable to accommodate any outbound flights. So after quite a journey to Charleston we turned up on the 29th, and being pirates of true integrity, they insisted on refunding our tours. Well done!

Our boys (2 and 5) both had a great time. So much fun watching all the excitement!

I think that the pirate garb added to the ambiance of the setting. realize that there is a large amount of conjecture and a total lack of verifiability in the tour guides stories but that is the nature of the tour. In this regard, Eric was perfect. His pirate garb & mannerisms (to me at least) in a way mimicked Johnny Depps character, Capn Jack Sparrow, which was engaging & enjoyable. Look, I would have loved to get slimed by an apparition as in the Ghostbusters Movie, but his knowledge of early Charleston & the pirate period was the next best thing. Eric, thanks for a fun time for me & my beloved, but be careful not to be the 54th pirate going to the gallows.....
