Fields are all well kept and the grass is nice both for soccer and for baseball/softball. Great for throwing the ball or Frisbee around. Trail allows you to take the pups for a nice walk!

There arent many great parks in West Ashley. I really enjoy this one! There are tons of ball fields, hiking paths, picnic tables, restrooms, and even a fishing dock in the very back with a bridge that leads to an island. As a full time professional photographer, I occasionally have clients that dont want to fight the traffic to get downtown or out to the beach for a photo shoot. This park makes for a nice location for them.

West Ashley Park is one of my favorite parks in the Charleston area. I like the large size of this park and all of the different features that it has to offer. This is a great place to get some fresh air and peace during a busy day or even have a picnic. This park is clean and well maintained throughout. I have had a lot of good times at this park and it has been very consistent throughout the years.

Came here with my two-year-old to play on the playground, and had a great time. The playground equipment is shaded for the most part, and the equipment was perfect for my child. The only negative things are that the playground itself is not in closed, and one of the pieces of equipment was missing. Other than that, we had a fantastic time. We will be back.

Really nice park with lots of soccer fields and trails. The playground is fun and fairly large. Would definitely recommend for any type of sports game that you might like to play. Only thing would be to check the park schedule since they give priority to the community sports leagues that pay for the fields.

They really need to add some type of cover over the playground. It is in direct sunlight and the slides, swing set, etc get too hot to play on. It is nice that there is a bathroom and water fountain there but without the cover for shade, we cant go often until the weather cools down.

Nice playground for the kids and a huge field for soccer. Bring a towel if its early morning as everything will be wet. And expect shoes to get dirty from the unpaved parking lot, especially if it has rained recently.

Ch

Great park with lots of space. Disc golf course is hidden within and throughout the park. The starting hole is on the side of the far soccer fields. Follow the dirt path near the road and you will find it. These paths can also be fun to walk or ride bikes. There is also an island traversable by bridge tucked away at the very end of the park. Take the road until it dead ends in a looped parking lot. Look near the water and youll see the bridge. This is the furthest point which looks out to Glen McConnell and the surrounding water front area.

This is my closest park. I like riding my bike on the paved roads. A special treat is the island hiking trail accessible by bridge at the very end of the pavement. The disc golf course is a nice feature, as are the 2 playgrounds, 3 pokestops, and Pokemon gym. Plenty of room on the fields and more trails than you might think the first time you look. Two baseball/softball fields, 4 large soccer fields, and plenty of parking. Great little park.

Great place to do everything really. Soccer fields, fishing, picnic areas, disc golf, walking trails. Bugs can be bad here so I would suggest plenty of spray. Fish located here seem to be redfish, trout, sheephead(caught one), catfish, crappie, brim, largemouth bass, flounder. There may be others but that is what I have personally pulled out of there.

This place has a section that not many people I have ever taken out will go. Team 4 sub station is right around the corner so mind your manners. the Gate closes at 6pm every night but the islands are D.N.R. so play at your own risk. I grew up on this land when it was all privately owned. That means if you want was one of the largest privately owned plots in the grater Charleston area Im your Boy 700+ acers of knee deep in nasty. This part of charleston is or was home to several hard to find native animals. The park has pushed them out into the surrounding areas. Of Course alligators are on this list as well as alligator snapping turtles. At one point their was ,sighted by my father and myself an Eagle species was never verified. Nest was on behind 2150 Vespers Drive. This are is now home to houses built on marsh lands of the 700+ acres of native swamp land. If you are really board go look by the third to the last bend by the softball fields. if you make it 1.3 Miles out you will find a Claimed to be old Indian Burial ground. The property was owned By the Lacie Family. The Myatt family was a huge part of the activist group that fought to preserve what little was left of West Ashley in its original state. Sad to say the state won and the biggest plot of local inner city land disappeared. Home to Eagel(s) unverified. Of Course this is why our group fought to keep the plot in its natural state. One will never know if that beautiful Eagle was our most iconic animal. If you want to see what it used to look like then you need to now go to the plantations off Highway 61 #myattsmonsters. On a positive note This place or what is left of it is what life is all about. You have a rear catch here a fresh water flounder found by the frisbee golf course in the back holes. you will find access to this in the back of the new subdivision in Church creek of vespers drive.Note: this is close to the old Claimed burial grounds.I have seen the spectral anomalies,Ghost if you will, at night in the woods and in the morning. END NOTE. You will also find a salt water access in the wooded are Near the frisby course grate spots here largest I pulled out was 29 Eels aswell. If you have a cayac its a grate sneek spot to get to the ashley river takes about 2 hours at tide out. Have Fun. Its alot more than The fields That grabe your attention. If anyones in the are and you want a tour hit me up Hadiesfather@gmail ATTN: W.A. Park
