This Trail must have cost a gazillion dollars. It is a concrete 3.5 Mile Trail with hairpin turns throughout. We also got to leter rip on some nearby secluded roads and ended up having just over fourteen fun miles. Never heard of it before... Just found it on a map while headed home to Ohio. Ample parking for our truck and 16 ft trailer. No bathrooms that I could see.

Currently my favorite trail in greater Columbia SC. There are a few different access points I like the one in Cayce by Dominion Energy. Lots of shade along the trail, garage/recycling cans to dispose of water bottles etc, trails are pretty wide for the most part(easy to social distance). It’s so nice my 9&11yr old daughters surprised me and walked over 7miles round trip. It’s free and healthy!!

Nice and shady walking trail. Not too busy and streetlamps come on at dusk in case you suddenly are still far away from your goal at that time. Only problem I have is it is poorly marked. No directional signs or distance markers. Also, no patrolling. It could be dangerous for a lone walker or those unprepared in an emergency. Just for information....

Really diverse trail, lots of ecosystems but easy to navigate, as its paved. We went to find certain species of butterflies and it did not disappoint!

I absolutely love this trail! It is never crowded, people you do encounter are friendly. The trail is pretty wide to accommodate bikes, runners/ walkers and I have even been roller blading and it was just great! You can see a lot of SC wildlife including the occasional American alligator! But dont worry about getting too close to the gators, the paved trail keeps you a safe distance away from the water. I highly recommend this trail for some alone time or family time!

Great trail to walk, run, or bike. Make sure you bring water. There are no restrooms on the trail. Shady paved trail paths and scenic river views. Several bridges to walk over as well. The trail extends to neighborhood in Cayce that connects to another section of the trail that has been closed since the Oct flood a few years ago. The trail paths are wider than most paved trails which makes it better for biking. The trail is maintained, and free of debris. There is also a trail that leads to the creek for canoe access. The trail head is also easy to find and beautiful in the Spring and Fall.

Great trail for biking. This was our first time so Im sure there is more to explore but we did a 3.5 mile loop twice in under an hour. Trees lined almost the entire trail so next time we may go earlier. Not very crowded, but everyone we passed were very pleasant. Great place to walk, run or bike.

Great trail for walking/running/biking, only draw back is we found no restrooms. There should be at least port o potties at beginning and 1or2 down the trail. Still it was all paved concrete. Extremely nice with that one exception. Law enforcement was traveling down trail on four wheelers. Another plus.

Great walking and jogging spot so close to downtown Columbia. Lots of bicyclist visit Timmerman Trail too. This is part of a heritage preserve with a rather pristine natural setting and some history. If youre lucky, you may spot an alligator. Definitely get out and enjoy nature by checking this place out.

Review №29

My family biked over 7 miles here yesterday and we all loved it! Even though it had been raining for several days prior, the trails were in good shape and safe. The woods and trails are beautiful and give you the sense that youre away in the mountains. We saw a deer and two snakes along the river bank along with your typical woodland birds and squirrels. The trails are wide enough to pass others without fear of running one another off the path. The park IS pet friendly. There are multiple parking areas, so do be sure to check signage if youre meeting up with others. This is an awesome (and not overly crowded) place to go on a date, have a family outing or just exercise alone. Although I have not personally been in the evenings I did notice that they have ample lighting and emergency call boxes. There are picnic tables and benches, so its a lovely place to get your picnic on. I have been twice and definitely plan to return.

They have added more historical markers along the trail and benches. I cant wait to do the longer walk along the Congaree to see whats there.

Review №31

Could have been a Good ride , but the city of Cayce had part of the riverwalk trail locked off so you could only go on less than half of it . And the roads between the two halves were not connected so you cant even do a go around without going all the way out to 12th street .

Dont let spider bridge fool you...this is a great walking trail! The wide concrete paths and boardwalks make this an ideal stroll. There are even street lamps out here for evening excursions...just mind the parking lot closing time. Very excited to find this trail and will definitely be returning. As I understand it, this is part of the full Riverwalk trail. I am interested in exploring more of it at this point. Not sure I can make the whole 8 miles of it as it is not a loop but could certainly break it down into parts.

Good clean path. Sign at the door says no motorized vehicles except as permitted by the ADA. The definition for that is not defined in the Cayce ordinances as of 9/6/19. I was on my electric unicycle at a walking pace. There was small traffic on a weekday morning. Folks were nice. Trashcan is pictured. I wish the website was updated to include more rules and expectations. Some boards on the walkways are soft, so be careful.

Great spot for biking, except for maybe a few really sharp turns, and easy trail for some walking or jogging too. The place was very well kept, and while we didnt run into to very many workers, the few that we did encounter were very nice and helpful. The maps are a little on the confusing side, but the trail was very well defined and complete with many exits if you did happen to get lost.

Once you get to the fork, if you turn left and go across the bridge, it becomes spiders spiders spiders. They are everywhere, and really big. Their webs go across the bridge and the trail after that, forcing you to duck or step around them, so if you hate spiders, wouldn’t recommend this trail.

This is a very lovely Scenic walk through the woods. Its all paved. Unfortunately there are no bathrooms out here and very few places to stop and rest. Alligators can be seen in the summertime in the creek. If you come down here very early in the morning around sunrise you can see deer as well.

Great trail for bikers and walking. Lots of shade with benches thought out. Beautiful scenery as well. If starting for the scanner 12 street entry and connecting to the river front. The two connected from beginning to end and back is almost 14 miles. Take a friend and have a blast in mid day and you dont even notice the heart unti you are in direct sunlight; Which is not very much.Happy Trailing!!!
