Beautiful place to take a walk and have lunch. I suggest walking the cliff side trail that follows the shore line. It is very scenic with amazing views of head light! Also along the trails there are multiple batteries, bunkers and an old mansion dating back to WW2.We visited during COVID. Picnic tables are available at 6 feet apart. Portable toilets are available. You also need to pay for parking which is by the hour and is cheap.

There was a gelato stand where I got espresso over 2 scoops it was delish. So many photo ops and incredibly gorgeous, practically free. Saw some porta potties.

We stopped at Fort Williams Park to view one of the most photographed lighthouse in the US Portland Head Light. The weather was perfect. Fort Williams Park is such a beautiful area on a Casco Bay. Seeing the Portland Head Light in person was such a great moment and you will take some of the most beautiful photos at the Fort Williams Park area. We plan to go back for their annual Cape Elizabeth Garden Tour just so we can have more beautiful photos of the area to cherish forever. Please be respectful of others and pick up your trash. This area is too beautiful to ever leave litter behind.

Fort Williams is a park that is maintained by the citizens of Cape Elizabeth. Here youll find the most Iconic of Maine Landmarks, the Portland Headlight. This park is well maintained and even at peak hours in the summer, it shouldnt feel overwhelmingly crowded. As a local this is my main choice for a place to take a walk, and Id suggest the Cliff Walk (a mile long) to anyone who doesnt mind a couple steep inclines.

Amazing views with much to explore and really nice walking paths... most with a gorgeous view and plenty of open and secluded spots to sit and enjoy the view or reflect.Crowd seemed generally friendly and respectful where if you found a place to sit or pause for a views no one was breathing down your neck waiting for you to move and kept a peaceful, respectful distance. You can enjoy a short walk or stay for hours and find places to sit or picnic and hang out. A few safer areas where you can climb down towards the water on some rocky beds that are fun to explore and of course contribute your rock stacking talent to the various piles all over. But please always be respectful by not throwing the rocks or knocking other rock piles down.. only one with authority to do that is mother nature!Word of caution .. there are no boundaries, kids can walk right up to ledges that are, to say the least on returnable from. Part of the sheer beauty of the park is that it is in its natural unencumbered state. Respect is healthy and there are so many safe places for kids to run, jump and climb.Wonderful place.

One of the most beautiful places you can visit! If you wear shoes for walking, be sure to go on the Cliff Walk. The views change as you proceed and on a clear day they are breathtaking. Also, its always colder and windier here, so take an extra layer, especially in the shoulder seasons. If you have children, or even if you dont, be sure to visit the Childrens Garden. Thousands of perennials were planted and in summer and fall, its spectacular. It has a frog pond with stepping stones, bridges, waterfalls, water pump, tree house, bear caves etc.Remember that this park is carry in/carry out! No trash cans and only port-a-pottys, so plan accordingly!Much of the flower beds and landscaping is maintained by volunteers with Friends of Ft Williams, a non-profit foundation. Check out their website for beautiful pictures and to make a donation. Enjoy your visit.

Beautiful rocky coastal views are coupled with historic decay (ruins of a fort having water away), and a majestic light house. This park is dog friendly, including an off leash area. A number of food trucks are located around. These prices are gougingly expensive. Like $2 for a 12 oz soda expensive. All in all, this is an awesome park with beautiful views, friendly people and although expensive, delicious food.

What a great place to explore, this park has attractions for all ages. From an easy sea side walking trail, old structures to walk through, to rocky sea side you wont be bored. I came with three children 6 through 10 and they had a blast, had to force them to leave.Five stars even though there is a lesson to teach with Fort Williams, the tragedy of the commons. There is no fee to enter this park, and therefore it suffers from the ravages of time and disrespectful people that have graffitied one of the forts casemates. I hope youll leave a donation like we did!

This is a wonderful place to explore, view the ocean, see not one but two lighthouses, picnic, walk, bring kids, and take photos. There are a lot of pathways to different rocky areas with direct contact with the ocean, but be advised that some are not easy to access and can be dangerous. Not all of the paths are accessible to those with walking/mobility aids, but a good sum of the park has paved walking areas. Also, some areas of the fort/house are blocked off with fencing, but that doesn’t ruin the experience.

Clean and well maintained gardens! Beautiful walking areas. There are several parking areas so you have a variety of locations to wander. There are several that are not maintained during the winter so pay attention to signs and barriers. Also the walking paths are not fully maintained all winter either. There are still a lot of locations to walk around just wear appropriate clothing and foot wear and be careful. The lighthouse itself is fully taken care of year round and there are a few spots to park close to it. If the spots are all taken park further away, enjoy the view and then check back because most dont stay long and parking rotates quickly.
