Beautiful farm land. Its nice to feel connected to it through its history. Thank you for placing the marker here.

The location should be named Site of former childhood home. There is only a historical society sign on the perimeter of the location. Still, there is a storyboard bearing information. HTs former owners still own the land and one can see a current home on the property.

Though I wouldve love to walk through the house.. It still was sort of a great experience for me.. Sometimes its the feeling that you get, that matters the most

Nice to see where Hariet Tubman spent her childhood, quiet but probably not much changed since she lived there. Nearby is an old General Store where she is depicted in the movie, Hariet, as receiving her head injury. The Brodes homestead is private property so the site is a sign and historical marker by the road. Only 15 min drive from the museum.

There isnt much to see here and that bothered my kids and made them uninterested. However, I explained that while the structural sites were no longer here, it was just amazing enough to be standing on the same ground as Tubman and have a painted picture of what life was like for her and the route she traveled for the Underground RR.

It was interesting to see, but there is so little theyre, just the sign on the side of the road. The inner ground railroad museum nearby is easy more interesting.

I loved the experience I got here. I came to the eastern shore on a day trip and visited. The same day I visited, I met Aisha Hinds who played Harriet Tubman in the tv show Underground.

A place to reflect on your own children and how you are raising them. And what our country has to reconcile with.

This is her childhood home not her birth place. She was born at Peters Neck at the end of Harrisville Road, on the farm of Anthony Thompson. South of Woolford and Madison md. Madison was called Tobacco Stick at the time.
