You can walk into Harvard Yard from the hustle and bustle of Harvard Square and immediately transport yourself to the academic environment. The University uses a house system and each one is unique. The library is impressive both outside and inside. Tourists often like to take pictures of the John Harvard statue just inside the Yard.

This is a great place to have a picnic or just sit and relax in the grass. We grabbed some snacks at Harvard Square and ate them on the steps by the Harvard Statue. There are many squirrels.

Impressive but not Harry Potter level impressive, probably because a lot of the grass was fenced off and that makes literally no sense when you are trying to social distance. A very healthy squirrel population.

Beautiful and historic! Keep in mind though that due to impact of Covid19 and depending on time of the school year, certain parts will or will not be open to the public. Regardless, a self guided tour does the job just fine! So cool!

The Harvard Yard is a nice place to walk around during the off season when the place is awfully quiet. A lot of people were taking pics with the John Harvard Statue. Many interesting building and quite a big library in the center of the Yard. Chanced upon the University Security patrolling the area and he was quite friendly and smiling all the time so we ended up taking a groupie with him.

Beautiful park to roam around in as a tourist or a city dweller. Lots of historic buildings to look at and beautiful scenic view during the fall. There are food trucks there as well with chairs which makes it’s a nice place sit and eat or walk your dog. During the summer it’s nice to lay on the grass and read a book or go for a jog around the neighborhood.

We visited Boston and wife reminiscent her time at Harvard. So we went to visit her dorm and visited the Harvard Yard. Excellent tourist friendly attraction with free tours that fill up fast. Kid and stroller friendly. Low key attraction for Ivy League fans. Definitely check out nearby Coop store and local restaurants and bakeries.

Good look at history. Its kind of amazing to imagine how for almost 300 hundred years scholars have been walking the same paths as you if you were to visit the yard. Some go the buildings here are 250-300 yrs old. And the guided tour (which is free and can be found near the Harvard sq. T station) is full of quirky history. Dont forget to rub fake John Harvards shoes if you want to get into Harvard.Note to the Traveller: the Harvard campus is way bigger and than the yard and the art museum and museum of natural history are wonderful places to visit. You might also consider buying cheaper H paraphernalia at shops around the yard instead of at the Co-op store.

If youre in Boston, you should definitely visit Harvard! Harvard Yard is the main attraction, as many buildings and attractions are around this. For example, the library and the John Harvard Statue (which is not actually John Harvard) are right off the Harvard Yard. This is also a great place to relax or study under the shade of the trees and get away from the busy city of Boston.

This is a free tour given by one of the Harvard students. So, you get to know something if the inside info, done if the student jokes and see the University from their perspective and of course, a bit of the history ! Totally worth the time. And also, you have to go to the natural history museum from here.

Harvard University was founded in 1636 and is the most famous higher education institution in the world. Many famous people such as John F. Kennedy, Mark Zuckerberg and Barack Obama, are or have graduated from this university. However, despite the fame of this school, I must say that the visit did not fascinate me at all, it even bothered me because there is nothing spectacular to discover except the statue of John Harvard the founder of this factory to make geniuses.

There are many nice spots all over the district but this is the heart of it. Major subway and bus station nearby makes your life easier to reach here and go somewhere else. I am still discovering many nice spots near the square. No need to mention Harvard University nearby and Harvard Coop Bookstore in the square among other goodies. So much fun to walk around and to feel the Harvard area. Nice shops and cafes abound. A must-visit area when in Cambridge.

It is Harvard; This university has world-class facilities, therefore what would you expect when visiting Harvard Yard?Disclaimer for those of you who have failed to pass Freshman Seminar 62F Talking, Literary Animals: This question is rhetorical, meaning that it is designed not to elicit a response but to demonstrate a point. Walk a few blocks and you will may think you are walking in a Tory neighborhood in London, GB! The combination of shopping and restaurants and most importantly, our beloved old Red-White & Blue is what gives it away that you are in the U.S.A. The area is very vibrant and also at the same time historic. It is very accessible via metro from most points in Boston, MA. Do not miss visiting this Square when in Cambridge, MA.

Its a great place for an easygoing walk, but it can get kind of crowded, touristy, or busy since its close to the hustle and bustle of Harvard Square. Still a place one must visit though changing quickly. The decades old Out of Town Newspaper stand may be torn down . Best to check it out as its an institution itself, only place you can get magazines from around the world. Old stores are gone, new ones coming in, many chain stores. Even residents have changed some but still a unique place. Many cafes, small restaurants worth visiting. Recently visited Harvard Square, very busy, busy, but theres a lot to see. The college itself it beautiful! There are many shops and places to eat and very easy to get around. Glad we took the time to see it!
