Another a great stop with the family when your customer the area. The wildlife parks boasts a range of animals from local Minnesota wildlife to exotic African animals. The whole park took us about 2 hours to get through. Strollers are welcome and for the most oath the baths easy to push a stroller across. Nothing is paved, so watch for any possible muddy spots, but we had no issues. The park starts with smaller animals in cages beneath several trees which provide welcomed shade. As you progress you move out from the trees towards the open areas where the large animals roam. There is also a petting zoo and playground area for the kids. The entry fee was certainly reasonable for everything they offer. You can also pay extra to ride a camel, feed carrots to a giraffe, feed the animals at the kid friendly petting zoo, pan for gemstones in the sluice box, feed alligators, or feed the small birds in the aviary as they land on your hand. The park also has a small concession stand to cool off with ice cream or lemonade on a hot day.All of the animals seem to be well cared for. I would definitely come again.

This place is so cool, Many different varieties of animals and they were all fairly active too. Camel rides, giraffe feeding, petting zoo, and a lot more. The price is definitely worth it! Plus you are supporting those animals, some of whom are almost extinct. If you are in the area, definitely worth the stop.

This little zoo was SO cute. It doesnt look like much but there is a lot of animals and activities inside. You can feed giraffes for $5 and they give you a cup of carrots. My son loved this! Our local zoo at home only gives you a piece of lettuce, so this was a lot more fun. They also have camel riding and parakeet feeding, which was super fun. Good variety of animals. I loved the snow leopards! Would definitely return if we were in the area again.

The staff was friendly. The variety of a animals were decent. The Giraffes are probably the best part. This was my 1st and last visit. My only problem was that most of the caged animals were in environments that were not stimulating for them. A handful of their animals were in obvious distress do to this, hence why they were pacing back and forth. Places like this need to provide environments for these animals that they can be kept entertained and thrive in, this wildlife park does not do so. If my review is read by the owners or even workers. Please suggest and try to make their environments better and more suitable for these animals.

Love this place. We usually get a yearly pass. Well worth it if you are going to go there fairly often. Prices are competitive to the big zoos. The paths are always well kept. Ive never had a problem with bugs and flies, either. That is a HUGE plus. They are always adding new things and animals. The kids love the deer and the parakeet house. Very fun. We like to splurge here and there and get food from the stand. Not sure if it is running with all this covid stuff going on, but if it is when we finally go this year we will happily check it out.

Such a great time for the whole family. Best zoo ive been to by far! You really could spend the whole day there ! Some of the animals look okay but TOO many of them look completely unstimulated/bored/stressed/vacant- this establishment clearly cannot maintain proper spaces and activity for these animals. I hope someone would consider rehoming to legitimate sanctuaries for the animals that should just NOT be kept in small cages with NOTHING to interact with. Please dont take your children here and normalize the idea that these animals deserve these sad lives. Its literally bad for their brains and for ours.

One of the staff workers were really rude to my family and i. the zoo in general is awesome. the extras are a little overpriced. 5$ for like 10 carrots. $5 for 3 sticks for bird feeding.5$ for a camel ride that’s one lap in 40 seconds. maybe if they dropped the price. but yeah, the animals are great to watch.

The way this zoo keeps their animals is absolutely horrible, they are left in the sun with little to no shade, and seem very neglected. A zoo is supposed to be a place of education and a place to reinforce care for the conservation and preservation of these species and habitats. This zoo is nothing but a few fences in a grass field with random animals packed into them. They need to either make it better for the animals to live there or donate their animals to a better zoo.

We used to love coming here. But now its just sad. They keep expanding and adding more animals and cages but they never update the enclosures they already have. Almost all the animals dont have enough shade they dont seem to have any enrichment. The enclosures are small and full of weeds and thistles. My 9 and 13 year old have both talked about how sad the animals look and how they dont want to go back anymore because the animals seem to be uncared for.

Incredible! Your money is well spent here. There are so many animals here and they have a wide variety as well. They have a deer exhibit that allows you to be inside with them and pet/feed them. The animals were awake and excited vs other zoos where they are sleeping and hiding. It is well worth the trip and price

Had an amazing time here with my family over the weekend. Had never heard of this place before and found it on a luck Google search.Wish I could rate this park as a 6 star. It is amazingly large and pretty inexpensive to get in. I think we were charged about $50 for 5 of us. Tons of local animals and also a large selection of stuff we dont have here; Alligators, Camels, Tigers, etc.It is all outside, so dress appropriately. The park itself is well laid out and make sure to being extra money for stuff like feeding animals and also camel rides.Seriously, check this place out, it is wonderful!

Review №29

Everyone was friendly and the giraffe experience was great, but a number of the animals were obviously extremely stressed out.So many of the animals were anxiously pacing the fence line of their enclosures, one of the saddest ones was the brown bear. He obviously spends a good portion of his day pacing one section because the grass is torn up and a path is made where he walks. The staff did seem like they cared about their animals, but there was no enrichment in hardly any of the cages. Very sad to see. Maybe with a little bit bigger cages for some of the animals like the monkeys, and more enrichment for birds like the parrots, this would be a better zoo.I love seeing these animals that you dont normally see, but I left this place feeling extremely sad for the majority of the animals. I will sadly not be returning unless some major changes are made.

Awesome arrangement of animals in a good sized park. We purchased our second season pass this year (at a very affordable price. I believe $99 for 2 adults and 2 kids) as our 1 and 3 year old cannot get enough of this zoo. There more animals to see than we could have ever expected for our area. Some of the highlights are; brown bears, white tigers, giraffes, camel rides, petting zoo, play ground, snack shack, indoor bird feeding building, a very entertaining baboon, and much more! There is also a lot more to see along the well shaded (tree canopy) path filled with alot of the smaller animals. Each year they have been adding on and improving the experience. This year they added a new wing on the shaded path with a river otter aquarium, some smaller monkeys and birds.

Spur of the moment trip for the kids before school started this year and so glad we went! There is definitely some room for improvement. Some of the deer had major bald spots from all the petting they received and probably should have been rotated better in the petting area. After paying to get in they also have spots to buy food to feed the animals... I suggest coming prepared with $5 bills because when we went I didnt know what to expect and only had 20s. My daughter ended up not getting $15 in change back at the parakeet enclosure. All in all the kids had fun.

Our first time there was today. It was great! I have it 4 stars only because of the parking situation. We got there at 10 and parked up front, when we were leaving we were blocked in by other cars as all the cars parked so there wasnt a way to get out, even an RV parked sideways. I ended up calling inside and they had someone come out to rectify, luckily the owners husband helped me navigate put between a car and the RV. My only suggestion would be to some how mark so ppl can get out. I think my sons favorite was feeding the giraffes.

Having been to paces like the Cincinnati zoo, I wasnt expecting much from a zoo in the Brainerd Lakes area. This place exceed my expectations by a lot. They have everything the billboards promised and more. While some of the smaller domeatic animals werent much to look at, the cougars, bears and white tigers were eager to put on a show. They have camel rides and a petting zoo that add to the experience. My rating is relative to the area and my expectations. Here are some pictures.

This was an awesome experience for our family. The parakeet paradise enclosure was one of the best parts. You can pay to feed them. Other highlights included petting the deer, seeing the river otters, tortoises, petting zoo, feeding animals and the general wide array of animals there. This is very family friendly with lots of walking. It was difficult to push a wheel chair through the gravel paths. Some of the animals are clearly distressed in their enclosures most notably the black squirrel and the leopard frantically pacing. Other than the above two concerns it was the perfect way to spend the afternoon.
