Great family fun. $20 gets you entrance, all the rides you can handle, and a self-guided tour through a pioneer museum. There are picnic spots in the parking lot so bring a bagged lunch and enjoy a wonderful day at Paul Bunyan Land.

Great place for all ages! The kids loved the rides, rock climbing wall, petting zoo and attractions! The adults enjoyed walking around Pioneer Village too! We appreciated that the admission was basically all inclusive (except food of course). The staff was super friendly & park was very clean. Plenty of staff to run the rides. My kids never waited more than a few minutes for anything, even on a beautiful Friday afternoon in the summer.

I went to the original location when I was a kid, but this still has everything I remember. We had to bring it kids when we were up this way. The biggest draw is the giant taking Paul Bunyan to be sure, but theres loads of fun rides for younger kids. Our oldest (11) still had a fun time. The old time village was also fun and the kids got to see some cool old stuff. The only downside was the petting zoo. It was sad. All in all though a fun afternoon.

Found this little gem and had a blast for several hours! Paul Bunyan says Hi to the kids by name when they walk in, took them by surprise! Nice rides for all ages. Food was good. Petting zoo is always fun. The kids also had fun walking through the old buildings although they didnt care much for the mannequins . Really nice, friendly staff. The old mine building was trippy! Will be back!!

Went today. There were 4 of us, two children and two adults. It cost 95.00. No big deal because this included all the rides. The problem is that there is not enough staff to run the rides. One staff member is in charge of two or more rides so they bounce back and forth. My 3 year old does not understand that you have to wait so he lost interest pretty quickly. The rides themselves do not look as though they were taken care of. I am a bigger person and it was scary to get on and off of the ferris wheel. This could be a really awesome theme park if it were properly staffed and the rides were kept up.

Still hands-down the best amusement park in Minnesota. Family owned and operated. Unique rides and things to do. Best tilt-a-world ever, and I’ve tried a lot of them. You can really get them spinning! Staff is always very friendly. A staple for things to do in the Brainerd Lakes area.

The campground portion was amazing with great customer service. BUT Paul Bunyan itself, only gets a star for me because my 12 year old loved the rock climbing wall. It is way too under staffed. My 2 year olds wanted nothing more than to go on rides, but would have to wait 20 plus minutes(mind you the park was very empty). I watched (who I was told was the manager of rides) run the same frog hopper ride 4x and never walk over to let me bring my girls on the carousel. I also would see workers sitting at picnic tables ignoring people waiting for rides. I finally got my 2 year old on a ride and the operator ran it for no more than 10 seconds, shut it off and just walked away. Some ride operators would let my 18 month old nephew on rides(with his parents) and some wouldnt. It is extremely over priced, but I would have been fine with it if the staffing wasnt so awful.

We came today with our 6 year old daughter. This place is an absolute joke. Barely anyone working and were turned away after waiting in line for rides so the attendant could run another ride. So many rides with no one to run them. If you are going to charge $70 for 3 people to get in - staff your park! What a waste of money since we couldn’t ride most of the rides.

This may be my favorite place in the world. Not only does it maintain rides and aspects of the park that have remained unchanged since I was a kid 30+ years ago, it has many of the same things my mom enjoyed 60 years ago. Delightfully kitsch and pure. So happy that my nephew has been such a good sport about making this a continued family tradition! That being said, I have had an excellent time with a couple adult friends-- just enough to keep us all laughing!

Paul Bunyan at the entrance is amazing for the kids, but the admission cost is wayyyyyy overpriced for what you get. Basically a glorified county fair worth of rides and attractions that are in a sad state of disrepair. For the admission cost they could at least repaint things.

This is a great place for kids 3 to 10. They have a ton of amusement rides for kids. And they can ride all of them for free once you pay the admission price to get in. So, its like going to a carnival with unlimited rides all day. It wasnt busy when we went so the kids road about every ride at least 3 to 5 times. The best part is when Paul Bunyan welcomes all the kids by name when they first walk in. We even played hide and go seek with Paul and he won every time!! We spent about 6 hours there and the kids loved every minute of it.

Its nostalgic, its kitsch, its the same old Paul Bunyan! Some rides I swear are the same as the from 1991. The park brought me a lot of joy as a child, and my children got to experience the same feeling after our recent visit. The rides and attractions were just right for my 3 and 5 year old. The price is what it is because it is unique and youll probably only need to visit once or twice! We arrived in the morning, left for lunch and came back for the afternoon. The place isnt Disneyland but it was just right for us and a fun day trip. Its a rite of passage for Minnesota kids, and I hope it will around for many years to come!

To those who grew up in the 60s and 70s and went to Paul Bunyan land and Bambi land ,leave those memories alone,I really very rarely give a negative review however a word about this place other than the moving statue of Paul who talks and waves, it ends there, some of the original saw mill town are there but in poor condition plus after charging $21.95 a head expect you to feed quarters in to see the saw mill turn on! the rest of the place is like walking through a antique store where you cant touch or buy anything!? then its like walking through a junk yard! there are (if there working) about a dozen rides mostly kiddie rides! in various stages of condition.if they charged $5 to get in I probably wouldnt be writing this, but it was very disappointing..keep your memories this proves you cant go home again!

Cute place for little kids, but MAN, they are so short-staffed that it’s about one employee running 3-4 rides, which means most rides don’t have someone operating them when you want to ride it, so you stand there waiting FOREVER for them to come to operate the ride you want to go on. And it’s expensive! $22 per person, even for adults that will most likely not go on any rides. The giant talking Paul Bunyan is the main reason for going. But that’s about it. We went there to check it off our list but won’t go again.

Review №89

Not impressed at all! If you are open at 10 am and you charge me $21.95 to come in, I expect everything to be open and ready, this was definitely NOT the case! For the price to get in, you should be able to hire more staff at good wages. Be warned they say everything inside is included BUT! If you want to see any of the little exhibit shows, bring quarters, that’s the only way you will get to see them. Bring cash ahead of time, other then general admission they don’t take credit cards, atm today isn’t working.... so... guess I’m outta luck. Guess it really didn’t matter, not like anyone ever came to the concession stand while we were standing there, for about 20 minutes. Most of the rides look pretty janky, old and worn out. And being the lack of staffing, you might have to wait 15-20 minutes for one staff to get done working one ride to, so they can come over and work the one your waiting for. Sad and disappointing experience.

Pa
Review №90

Not enough staff for the rides—if you want to ride something you need to get someone’s attention.Safety is not a high priority. Th attendant starts one ride without checking that m child was secure. When she panicked, the attendant response was “she should have just stayed seated.”Old fashioned photos is a joke. Staff doesn’t help at all. No costuming advice or help at all. You pick the outfit, you pick the scenery and the staff snaps a few pictures.

It breaks my heart because Paul Bunyan Land has been around for so long. That was why I was so excited to bring my children there like when I was little. The pricing is way off. For a family of four it is close to $100 for admission, which is close to what I could pay with the discounts I have for Valleyfair. The biggest thing about that is you are at the will of the few employees they have on hand. They are extremely short staffed and have right operators just going from ride to ride to wherever the most people are in line to start that ride. That was the worst part of the whole ordeal was that even though it wasnt super busy for a Saturday, with the lack of staff on hand they couldnt do a lot of the rides they wanted since the operators were busy at other rides. Definitely wont be going back until I see things have turned around because that was not worth the cost and time spent waiting to get on rides. Especially with little ones who are impatient and tired from being in the hot sun.
