Never had a single bad experience here. Even the one time I was put off by a show was entirely due to the audience and nothing on the venues part. Ive never felt unsafe here or around the Fenway area in general, even the time I attended a concert while the World Series raged on across the street. Sound is good, security watches out for you but doesnt overstep their bounds, and the nearby parking garage is reasonably priced and welcoming. Overall, better than a chain venue has a right to be.

One of my favorite concert venues in America, right across from Fenway Park. The sound quality is very good, the process to get in the door flows pretty well, there are many stalls in the restroom m, and many options to get a drink. I have seen the Mighty Mighty Bosstones play there multiple times, always a treat! Highly recommended, check out a show there!

A great spot to catch shows that wont fill a stadium. The open space design allows for great General Admission shows. They have plenty of bars and have been in business long enough to work out most of the kinks. Also noteworthy, their security staff is wonderful... Helpful, mostly friendly, and I witnessed two occasions where they went out of their way to help a patron. Most security personnel at other places are very cold and quick to just eject people and have them handle their issues on their own. It was very refreshing to see people caring about others in that capacity!

Saw Dido play 06/17/2019 and what a performance. She is absolutely amazing. Now lets talk about the Venue itself. I paid for standing room on the first floor, but my tickets said the second floor and they wouldnt do anything to assist us. You cant see anything from the second floor because only the third floor covers half the second floor, so if you not up against the railing your not going to see the show. The concert was more like pay per view cause if you want to see the band youll have to watch one of the many tvs they have on the second floor.Staff is rude, I guess when you work there the words Excuse Me are not permitted. Instead there are long drooping faces that if your not on security look as though you really hate your job.The bartender we had literally had no idea how to make a drink even with the limited drinks he could do he couldnt get them right. The beer was mostly IPAs so if you want something like a Sam Adams you wont get one there. Try the Home Lager it was actually really good.So will I ever drive from Florida to Boston for a concert, well yes. Will I do so if they are playing the Boston House of Blues, NO!!!

This was my first time at the house of blues for a show. Initially when entering the venue it was confusing as to where/how to access the foundation room that I had paid extra to access before/during the show. The staff was extremely helpful with directing me to the foundation room.If you have the opportunity, the foundation room is worth the extra money as you get complimentary coat check, separate entrance, and access to the beautiful and cozy foundation room which has a restaurant, fireplace, and bar. This was a great way to start the show without being stuck in a mob of people during the starting performers.

I always have had a love/hate relationship with this venue since they replaced the Avalon. Its been a while since Ive been to HoB, and I think its kind of absurd that the mezzanine has been separated from the floor, and on top of that, enormous paintings have been hung on the mezzanine, blocking a good portion of the view (or you can sit, but even that causes its own problems). And the security is tighter than an airport (I understand why, but if you think lighters and semi automatic weapons are the same, then... Yikes). Anyway, Ill probably reconsider future shows at this venue.

Such a great venue! I saw In Flames and Within Temptation in March. Great concert by Grace Potter! There were a bunch of rude people repeatedly bumping into us or trying to move directly in front of us blocking our view. One spilled a drink on our friend and didnt even apologize. But I guess you cant blame the venue for that. Rude people will always be rude. The House of Blues is a nice, small venue. Saw the Boston Music Awards for the first time in years. The sound was terrible, partly because of the booming rooms acoustics and partly because of poor mix choices. The subs and lows were way over emphasized. Maybe quadruple as loud as needed. Snare drum was nearly inaudible for some acts, vocals were completely unintelligible even when there wasnt background music. Part of this was poor mic technique on the part of the artists, cupping the mic, and rapping at tempos that only work in a studio setting. Many of the singers were way out of tune, starting on the wrong note and then not correcting. I am assuming that they couldnt hear themselves but its possible that they werent good singers in the first place. The entire mid-range of the music was absent. Guitars, bass and keys were really hard to hear through the mud. It was really disappointing both artistically and from an audio reinforcement perspective. The lasers were fun at least.

Obviously an iconic venue for Boston, be aware of the seating you are getting, and how packed the show you are going to will be. Floor is best experience, in my opinion, you can wander in and out of the pit and theres plenty of room on the sides to stand. If you get mezzanine, be aware that its imperative to get there early to claim a railing spot for the best view, or you can sit way up top in theater seating. Plan accordingly, but this is a great venue for sounds quality and accomodations of every type of show.

Pretty cool venue to watch a show. They always have great lineups and different genres of music to keep it interesting. Tickets, depending on who is playing are reasonably priced. The worst part about this venue is the security literally going through and removing items from your wallet money, cards, family photos etc.... This I feel is a blatant abuse of Privacy and it is just plain wrong. Ive also seen security ask women to lift up their shirts and pull down their shirt tops. Ive seen them be groped and this behavior is highly unprofessional. I also do not agree with having 18+ shows at this venue and simply putting a Black X on under 21 year old person! They should have a different color bracelet. I think Security is waaay to strict on this rule as well. I had a friend get kicked out for ordering a drink and sitting it on the bar near an under 21 year old person who was waiting for water, so that he could pay for his drink. He was then escorted out of the building after paying good money for a ticket and 10 bucks for his OWN drink!... It makes for a bad experience when treated as a criminal instead of a patron of the establishment!

When I asked for a refund I was told that I can’t have one, and I can’t list them for sale. My only option is to give them away. Seriously, they want me to give away over $900 worth of tickets because the people I was going with are also my coworkers. Assuming that they are all still alive in July they won’t be able to go either. I’m already separated from my kids and stressed about getting sick, I shouldn’t have to deal with this on top of everything else!

It was good, but not great. Went to the venue for a Jacob Sartorius concert with my daughter. Had box seats. The seats honestly were not that great. Had 2 normal height females in front of us and still could barely see by their heads most of the time. Possibly my fault for not getting the tickets earlier and not researching which would be the best box seats. Other than that, the concert was good, only in how my daughter seemed to enjoy it. Im not a big JS fan. Since this review isnt about his concert, the venue itself seems a bit cramped. I know this isnt Gilette Stadium, but still.Seats are fairly comfortable. Lighting is Im sure dependent on the artist, but the lighting on the rafters for effects are basic. Id need a follow up visit of a different artist to provide a more in depth, definitive review.Sound is vibrant. Lows are low without distortion, and highs are of precise clarity without sounding too tinny. Some of the singers S sounds were indeed a little too snakelike. All around decent sound quality, with earthquake bass, if you enjoy that. The HoB restaurant is ridiculously small. The food was bland, though not altogether tasteless. We had the Mac and cheese with sausages and the HoB burger.Closest parking isnt too far, located at the Target park lot approx. 2/3 mi away.Darius Verdict:Concert hall: 3.5/5Restaurant: 3/5Overall: 3/5 PS requires a follow up visit to fully review. Vip seats are a scam for the most part. Any other seats would be pointless. At $165 per ticket, I shouldnt need to stare at the back of someones head. Im 6 tall. After reading the reviews of others experiences, some having terrible pat down/near cavity searches, and staff being super rude, Im just really glad none of that precipitated for us, as I have 0 tolerance for bs.

I am short. Vertically challenged to be politically correct. With that being said my previous experiences at the HOB Boston have been less than enjoyable unless you like looking at shoulders and having beer spilled on you for an entire show - it is general admission standing room only on the floor. Tonight I went with the seats - truth be told, I didn’t know that they actually had seats. The tickets said 7 but the show didn’t start until 8 which was a bit meh because you wait in a giant line outside that goes all the way down Landsdown and down Brookline Ave. but once we got through there, the entry was seamless. ID’d, metal detector, scanned my electronic tickets and we were on our way to the 3rd floor. The seats were front row on the side so the view was awesome and unobstructed. The seats themselves were more like comfy bar stools/ armless barber chair that swiveled than the stadium seating in the center. The only thing that was missed was a cup holder as we put our drinks in the floor and saw the potential of kicking them over the balcony o to other patrons. There was a bar and a bathroom just a few feet away - so convenient and because of the location not too busy. Tori Kelly took they stage about 8:20 for an all acoustic show and killed it. The sound was awesome and the show was AMAZING! She played for 2 hours straight to an amazingly diverse crowd of Tori loving people! When the show ended it was an easy, organized exit that spilled back onto Landsdown Street. Overall a great experience. I will definitely be back but will go the side seating route for sure.
