Well thought out and planned MBT park. Rocky Branch trail was enough for us. There are more challenging trail but you can have a great time without risking your life on the Black diamond trails.

Really nice and well-maintained mountain bike trails. There are enough trails to ride for a few and the pump track is a great way to get warmed up before a ride and cooled off after! I will be back.

Well maintained trail system just outside of Boone. The trails can be a little confusing for a first time rider, but good all around posting. Wish there was a little more mid-level riding but I dont think there is enough space for it. Would recommend if you are out there.

Great trails for all levels. Drains well after rain. Wish trails were a little longer but there is enough you can mix up your routes a little bit and get a good ride in. Has a good bit of climbing and rocks all over provide unique challenges you don’t get on most trails.

Worth the view, worth the scrapes . Wild experience! The place is well maintained. You can say you did a great leg work out after this one Watch out for the rock gardens!

This is a beautiful park that offers trails for hiking and biking. There is also a fun playground for kids before entering the trails. Beautiful scenery for beautiful sunset. It’s not far from downtown and the plus side is it is open 24/7 every day.

My kids played here for at least an hour in the cold weather without complaining. The playground is basically an obstacle course where you make it from one point to the next on a rope bridge. We werent able to check out the bike trails, but they looked nice and there was a bmx area.

Well maintained, super fun mountain bike trail system ranges from intermediate to black diamond trails. There are no true beginner trails aside from a short trail called Keen-dergarten. Bathrooms are only open in months not subject to freezing. Make note, there are no views aside from at the power line clearing at the saddle.

Great park with lots of great trails for riders of all skill levels.PBJ is a great line for people who want jumps and burms and some flowy riding. The trail is quite long for a jump line and keeps going all the way to the bottom.Black Forest (and Stone soup which is at the end of black forest) is a great double.black diamond downhill. It is a serious downhill that is PACKED with features, huge drops and crazy rock gardens. An Enduro bike can handle it well if you take it slow. I highly recommend walking the larger features first, hitting them blind WILL lead to a flat tire or bent rim or much worse.Boat Rock is great for a more easy ride, it is quite flowy and takes a few hours to complete if you take your time. Similar to a cross country loop with a faster descent. If you want to make it a bit harder, keep climbing up Boat Rock and hit Ol Hoss, which is a black diamond trail at the top of the mountain, however it rides more like a blue. This will put you back onto Boat Rock afterwards.Overall, the entire park is great. Its got an interesting but small pump track and a natural jungle gym for the kiddos. The park has public restrooms and water fountains, which are closed for winter from late October through April.

Na
Review №35

Challenging, but a liitle too much for kids under 13 if you go up the mountain too far. Always love the obstacle courses midway up. Going down the PBandJ trail is a blast, but can be dangerous. Definitely wear a helmet and make sure you have good working brakes. The pump track off the parking lot is a lot if fun, too. Being a bmx guy from way back, i still get more out of that probably than the trails. Just wish it was longer.

This is an excellent park, definitely geared for mountain bikers, but hiking the trails is quite rewarding too! In addition to the bike trails on the mountain, there is a nice motocross style area at the bottom for younger bikers to practice on. A quick repair station for the bikes is also available, and the facilities are clean.

Review №41

Lots of options for older kids to play, not recommended for kids under the age of 4. Lots of shaded picnic areas for groups and parties but almost no shade near play areas and biking course. The large main table is pretty and makes a great photo op. for parties. The main playground area is great if your kid is a climber. There is one slide and two swings. Bathrooms are clean. The mountain biking practice area is helpful with signs that help explain how to handle jumps, sharp turns, and other specific biking actions. Plenty of parking and a nice foot hiking trail as well.

Ry
Review №42

Pump track is very worn out and shows little to no maintenance. Its pretty much flat. Obstacle course shown in google search no longer exists. It was torn completely down. The only thing left is a couple swings. I cant speak on the actual trails, but if theyre maintained anything like the pump track then theyre probably not very enjoyable.

This park has incredible trails that are designed for mountain biking but also make for great trail running (just keep your ears open to hear bikes coming). Appropriately named, there are a lot of rocks so this makes most of the trails a bit difficult for beginners, but there is keendergarten which is designed for kids and beginners. Theres also a pump track and super cool playground that are great for kids.If youre above beginner mountain biking skills, then youll find plenty of fun trails.

Over the past week I have ridden at Bent Creek, Lake Hickory Trails, and Rocky Knob. Rocky Knob is fantastic. The trails are in great shape and its apparent that a lot of work went into these trails. My only complaint is leaving. Friday afternoon traffic on 421 east is careless and puts motorists leaving Rocky Knob in danger. I hope Watauga county can recognize their traffic woes at some point before another section of Boone is annexed by ASU. This isnt a Rocky Knob problem. This is a Watauga county/Boone/ASU problem.

Great ride but challenging. Climbs can be technical but the terrain is great and even in the middle of summer it was nice. The pbj trail is easy to get down if you dont like to jump and just want to ride the berms but there are scary signs to warn you off. If you arent a jumper just roll over them carefully and there are no drops you have to take on that one. Only complaint is the climb was rough and the decent feels short but sweet.

The training course is a cool idea and looks like fun. The playground is awesome. As far as the main trail I only saw part of it on foot, it was iced over and had snow. I dont mountain bike; I hike. The thought of riding a bike down what I walked is scary to me. However, it might be a real rush for a mountain biker.

First time MTBing in the actual mountains (from Florida!). Youll be fine if youre at least intermediate, but you can roll across half the obstacles with no problem (or walk if not).
