Nice quiet picnic spot today - picnic tables, walking track and trail, and clean bathrooms. Seems more of a locals spot than tourist, which was great for a busy tourist weekend.

Very pleasant park by the South Fork New River. The park has five tables, restroom, and two grills (havent tried them yet). Soccer fields and large green area are available. The walk (bike or run) is relatively flat and very nice by the river, you can hear the water flowing which can help you relax and think. Very beautiful trees with great smells and shade. I have seen a few people fishing there, but I havent researched (yet) what types of fish can you get.Wish they could put seats directly by the river and/or nice small bridges. Also, maybe organize and plant more types of flowers.

These were taking on the banks of the South Fork at the park. Clearly the river is not being protected with no erosion control or runoff prevention in place.Fine park and an awesome river which certainly deserves better than this.

Nice Park. Bathrooms available. (locked during some parts of the winter). There are typically two soccer style fields available most of the year. The third field is the biggest and typically stays busy. This park has an asphalt trail that loops around a soccer field and then meanders by the creek (out and back). At the end of the asphalt trail there is a gravel trail that zig-zags up a mountain and loops at the top. hey have nest boxes out (I believe for Audubon) and most of the year they leave the field around the trail natural. At the creek Ive seen people fishing and swimming (im not sure of the rules though for it).

Lovely, mostly flat place to walk your dog with varied scenery and a river nearby throughout. This park is immaculate and even includes a picnic shelter with charcoal grills. Restroom and water fountain included. The trail connects to one that goes under the highway nearby.

I love Brookshire Park and the Greenway! It is a wonderful place to walk, talk, run, and zone out while listening to an audiobook. Unfortunately, theres a dark side that keeps this area from reaching 5 stars. The following will speak to these issues and might keep you out of trouble:1. Do not visit at night. Folks who frequent the methadone clinic roam the Greenway and sometimes Brookshire after the sun goes down. Some can be found talking to themselves, screaming, and even making meth in the creek.2. Tread carefully while taking the Greenway under 421. The homeless enjoy sleeping there and as a result youll typically find a pile of beer cans and piles of feces near the pavement. Dont touch a thing and keep moving!

Good place to walk it was super cute other than all the construction and the paved path ends very abruptly. Also be careful letting your dogs run in the grass mine came home with 3 ticks on his face.

Great park for all ages, all seasons. Folks walk the track on lunch hour, kids on bikes, students slack line, groups play ultimate and kickball. Large field with sidewalk track around circumference, connects to longer trails and The Greenway trail for extended bike/run. Pavilion reserved for less than $30 through Parks and Rec. Restrooms and seasonal water fountain. Canoe put in, fly fishing, winter snow sledding to top it off.
