McHose has something for everyone! Set along the wooded banks of Honey Creek there are plenty of places to picnic, disc golf, swim, play, or simply admire nature. Plus this hidden gem of a sledding hill. Its worth your time any season of the year. Come to eat your lunch or come to spend all day.

Went to the Canine Coral. Let the puppy run some extra energy off. He loved it

Pretty clean, but the dog... apparatuses were a bit worn. Plenty of shade and seating. Two differ areas which was super nice

Love being at Mchose park. My daughter and I always enjoy coming there. Also a lot of bugs in case your child loves to look for them like mine does

It was a beautiful day to be at the park attending a graduation party at the boy scout cabin. Only thing was the park needs to clean up the cabin. I think if your going to rent the cabin at least they could do is clean it up and wash the windows, take down the cobwebs. And the wasp need to be done away with too.

We went to Rineharts drive through Farmers markets, then went to the park to have a breakfast picnic with our daughter. The park, food, and weather was awesome!!!

Played disc golf course. After the third hole, it was nearly impossible to find the course. We ended up skipping some holes. Map was inaccurate and some trails were unserviced in years likely.

Ground needs to be raked and loosen the wood chips on the playgrounds

Its a great place for the whole family. Picnic areas, tennis courts, baseball field, and three different play grounds. One in particular designed for small children which is great. Lots of great places to walk and explore in the woods. Also the Boone pool is located here which we frequent often in the summer.

A great place for walks while practicing social distancing

Disc golf is confusing for layout and can be very dangerous for young kids. Sorta made our own course. Be sure to watch for poisin ivy. Severe drop offs near baskets may contribute to lost discs. A few course adjustments be nice. Can be challenging without being hazardous. Large area. Nice trees. Watch out little kids...there seems be no speed limit in the park. Speed bumps are needed.

President Teddy Roosevelt is the Granite Statue as you enter park. President Roosevelts Administration was about creating and preserving U.S. of A Nature Park System throughout the 50 States. First Lady Mamie Eisenhower was born in Boone. Boone is fascinating with rich historical value preserved for generations to come,

My wife and I were just driving around and came across this park,so we decided to take a look. This place is great for all sorts of activities, family reunion, company picnic,you name it,its a beautiful place,we look forward to going back to take a hike along the path around the park.

A great place for a walk or picnic, I would recommend bringing bug spray though, sometimes there are bugs.

The environment created by the historical building is superb. The food can hardly be beaten within the confines of Ames, IA. The staff is pleasant and helpful when guiding you through the enormous menu. Also the best place to get an ice cream sundae in the tri-state area.

McHose Park is an excellent place to bring the family. They offer multiple shelters and play areas for young kids, a skate park, dog park, and tennis courts. This is an ideal place to spend time with kids or even time alone.

This is one of the finest, scratch that, the finest, city parks I have ever been to in my life. There is so much area available for hiking, biking, and different playground equipment. There is also the Boone Municipal Pool, adjacent ice skating and equestrian areas.If you are ever in or near Boone, this is definitely one of the most important places to visit if you enjoy the outdoors or just want a relaxing place to have a family picnic.

This is an awesome place to relax. Great for families and friends. There are alot of activities to do by yourself or with others. Great place to go if your looking for a good time outside.

One of the best places in Boone County to spend time outside. Great Frolf course, Nice fenced in skate park. Never once found used needles or trash laying around because the local community cares enough to pick it up for guests and residents. I love Mchose

Easy parking, cute little cabin for the party, convenient kitchen space, and lots of beautiful trees.I even saw deer on my drive in the woods to the picnic/party structure. Peaceful.
