Small town historical museum that feels like one in a metropolitan area! The new director has performed miracles (and is trying to perform more) with the displays. If you have never been-go! If you have-go again! I promise there will be something new! Housed in a former Masonic Lodge, so many cool aspects because of the historical building.

Volunteering for cleaning to help make ready this Wonderful Archive of knowledge and connection too the area I have spent 53 years of my life. The Board of the Musuem and Community have been quite welcoming. Museum reopens this Saturday, June 29th @9am. Might I suggest a walking tour for the family which might begin @ The Womens Sufferage Marker -Northside of Boone on Union Pacific Railroad. A short walk to Boone History Museum with a short walk west to Mamie Doud Eisenhower Birthplace where refreshments will be served.

In the last two years the center has started to totally remodel and bring in new exhibits and a showcase many things that had been tucked away. Actually four museums around Boone county. Worth stopping

Has improved greatly over time, the floors use to be disgusting and they had them redone and now they’re beautiful. I also really like the new exhibits the military exhibit is beautiful and really personal to the area. They redid the upstairs as well which use to be this weird like show room thing and now it looks much better and less fair grounds. I’ve volunteered with them for awhile to and theyve been super great. When I volunteered at Mamie’s I had a lot of problems. Hours of just sitting and trying to help elderly people go down the stairs to see the exhibits. Also the house got really creepy late at night. And there was mold in the basement to so it smelled weird. I think they can do something new and interesting there to.

Under new management now, the future looks bright now!

In response to the owners response what did I say that is NOT TRUE? Did I misquote your hours or the fact that you currently only have one of the 4 museums you list on your website open? Please enlighten me. TripAdvisor and google both list MDEB as open. So that is most certainly true. You have no idea who I am, so please do not profess to tell me what my intentions in writing this review are. I am not a troll or a bully, your website and the travel websites are both inaccurate, that is a FACT. You can say it isnt true all you want, the truth be told you are the bully hiding behind a keyboard with no intention of taking any kind of criticism. It is strange to me that your responses to anything other than positive reviews all start with the words not true. But then nothing to support your assertion, other than thinking everyone is out to get you. It is a business, quit taking criticism of the business you run as an attack on you personally, maybe if you did that the community of Boone wouldnt be worried about losing their pieces of history that your poorly run business has in its possession. And dont lob insults at me, especially for simply stating facts about your organization.would give it no stars if I could. Website is misleading of the 4 museums it boasts, only the history center is open and only 15 hours a week. TripAdvisor and many other well known travel sights list the MDEB as open and operational. Its not. The management should update and make sure things like that are accurate. It is poor practice to say one thing and then when someone shows up to tell them sorry, TripAdvisor is wrong. But it would have to be a local that told them, because most likely the history center would be closed. Poorly managed.
