Absolutely worth the drive from anywhere in nc, very cheap and tons of fun things to do for kids of all ages. The also have membership programs for low income families so everyone can enjoy no matter your income. Well cleaned, nice staff and tons of options. Its a nice little gem in the mountains you might not notice if not looking.

My son and I loved it. The staff is very nice. The place has multiple engaging centers (play-areas) and is very clean. I liked that there were children of various ages. We havent attended any of the guided activities but we are looking forward to doing so.

My family happened upon this location, because it was raining and we couldn’t go to Tweetise. I googled places to visit for kids in Boone and the Chidren’s Playhouse came up. I thought we would give it a try. There were several nice areas indoors for children to enjoy. There was a dress up room, arts and crafts area, active play area with climbing wall and small ball pit as well as a musical area and place to build with Legos to name a few.We found it a nice place to visit on a rainy day. The age limit was up to 8 years. I found it may be a bit difficult for a child over 6 to really enjoy the playhouse for an extended period of time. It’s more for smaller children and would be a fabulous 5 star rating had I been accompanied by a younger child. We went based on the suggestion of up to age 8. Our child was 7 at the time of writing this. He enjoyed the active play area and Legos best.I very much liked the informational books for parents to “learn” as their kids play. That was a great addition. The biggest downside for me was having to pay the extra $6 each for my husband and I to enter. While I interacted with my child as much as possible, it’s quite difficult for a parent to get very much out of their $6, besides watching your child enjoying their playtime.NOTE: My review was 3, however I feel compelled to lower my rating after the reply from the Director K. Parham. I feel my review is kind and fair. My reviews are based upon the exact experience I or my family has on any random given day visiting various locations. I had to review the CP based on what was offered that day, not based on what may be offered on other days and times. The Director seemed defensive of the CP, while I felt my recommendation to be kind and gives it 5 STARS for younger children.Perhaps the suggested age should be lowered and on the CP website activities that are offered for older kids can be clearly listed on the days they occur so that children and families above the ages or 4 or 5 don’t spend almost $20 to visit a facility where kids age 7 and 8 have little to do, especially since it was raining the day we went and we couldn’t utilize the outdoor play are which looked as though my child would have enjoyed. That’s no fault of the CP, but my point is the advertised age range as of April 2019 was up to age 8 and the CP is not, in my opinion, set up for school aged kids, but rather toddler to Kindergarten at most.It seems as though a simple thank you might suffice for my review, as that’s the general response to others reviews. Not an expository on where my funds went or what’s offered at others times and everything amazing the CO does, has done or hopes to do. I’m thrilled that the Cp seeks to help children’s and low income families and I believe their facility to be a great place for younger children. I wish the staff and other the very best and continued success.I apologize if I touched a nerve, but as a Local Guide honest reviews are extremely imperative when helping offer information to travelers local or afar off.

We went for the first time (free) during the 17th Birthday Celebration week and my kids, 4 and 8, loved it! We got there when it opened at 10 and they did not want to leave for lunch when we got hungry at 1pm. They have a special on memberships this week and I think it is totally worth it if you live in the area. Its great for rainy days and snowy days especially because they have an awesome romp and stomp room where kids can get out their extra energy!!

Absolutely great place to bring your young kids to play. Every fun game that exists for the age group 8 years and under: they have it! Even games I did not think existed. We brought our 13 months old boy and started the day with a music class. Just great!

We had a blast at the playhouse today... Miss Mae got to make a fossil ornament and we learned about some fossils.... The staff was very helpful and the other parents were wonderful. And of course the ball pit is always a good time to be had by all. Thankyou

We regularly make the drive from Sparta. Great place! My lo, now almost 4, has enjoyed it since his first trip at 2 yrs old. Great rainy/snowy weather daytrip (but fun in good weather too!). Reasonable fee, great employees, wonderful toys; I only wish they opened on Sundays!

Its not exactly what I was thinking but it is a nice place to take children too. Its in an old house that has been turned into like an kids playground with educational stuff also. I believe it was $6 a person to get in. There is a sink for all to wash hands at before playing. Bathrooms are very clean. They have an outdoor playground area also to play on. We spent an hour there and it felt like we were there for 15 minutes. If you are in Boone and have children under 8 I believe they will enjoy it.

My nephew,8 and my son, 2 had a GREAT time. They played for HOURS! 3 hours and still didnt want to leave. It was 20 bucks for the two of them. Great price. Staff is sweet and made you feel comfortable. Areas for adults to sit while kids play which is nice. I wish we had this back where we are from! This is such a great place to take little ones. I planned on bringing the kiddos here before our arrival in boone and our visit was nothing short of amazing. We all had such a blast. Something to do for 18 mo up to 8 years old. Its very safe and designed so children have little to no chance of getting hurt. Not one child wasnt smiling and laughing the whole time I was there on a busy summer afternoon! Only thing that I wasnt fond of was the water area was closed for 10 minutes for cleaning then when It reopened the water spouts werent working and there was no one in sight to help figure it out. Other than that ever thing was great and I recommend you give it a try!

We absolutely LOVE CP! As a nanny I definitely find this as a great place for the kids to come and interact with others kids, and they have wonderful activities and programs. Tess and Kayla are our faves :-) they make the experience that much better! They are so thoughtful of the kids, and just kind hearted. We havent gotten to know much more of the staff but I am sure they are up to par with them! We recommend this 100% to anyone thinking about it, the membership is WORTH IT, and they accept donations for supplies etc. which we try to leave a few dollars every week. We appreciate that there is something like this in town to do, especially on rainy days. We have made so many new friends, great socializing and networking for parents too!!

A great way to spend a few hours with your little tot. Lots of fun activities to expand their little minds. They have everything from painting and playdough, to piano and a ball pit. You can read books, join in the play, or juat sit back and see your childs imagination run wild. I would say its best for kids about 5 and under.
