I’m a beginner skater and I’ve done the hour reservation with a lesson twice now. The first time was with Sunny, they were very patient, helpful, and really put me at ease. The second time my husband joined me and our instructor was Sarah. They played music of our choice and turned the disco lights on for us. Sara also shared helpful tips and was very patient. Both instructors were very friendly, and wore their masks the whole time. The skating rink was clean and well maintained, we had a lot of fun and will definitely go again!

My daughter likes to go here. We had her birthday party here and they didnt let us in early to set up. So we stood out side with all our stuff and the ice cream cake until the actual hours of operation. When I made the reservation she said we could come in 10 to 15 minutes early to set up, they came out and told us to just hold on a second and then never came back out to let us in. So it cut into our birthday party time because we had to set up everything we brought. Skate time was from 6pm to 830pm for our slot but we had to put away all our party stuff by 8pm. So it seemed like once we were done setting up we had to have cake and then take everything back down. The tiled area where the party and food court area is really slippery when the kids have on skates and i had several of the kids in my party group fall on the tile floor and almost knock over all the drinks on the picnic tables where we were having our party. Their quarter machine games are all a dollar a piece which seems a little pricy to me. My daughter seemed like she had a good time and that is what matters most of all. But as a parent I was totally stressed trying to deal with getting my kids skates, setting up the party while everyone was getting there, trying to keep an eye on the kids and greet the parents as they came in. If they would have let my wife, daughter and I in 15 to 20 minutes early to set up I would have given the place 4 stars.

Awesome place for all ages. As a parent it takes you back in time. Nice large rink to skate, they have floor games to play, as well as some of the top music choices. They have skate mates for those that need a little help getting use to skating. Very friendly staff, and always there to help answer questions. Very upbeat place to be. Not the biggest DJ daftpunk fan. It could have been a lot better, however he did have a big turnout. If you like nothing but rap this is the place to go. However it gets old real quick. This is why Im leaving early because Im bored with the music. If this is all there is I wont come every weekend. The people crowding the floor not skating was not cool. I get that its adult night. Disclaimer a lot of the music has the slang word N a lot. The music that the DJ was playing was ok. The DJ really didnt play enough good music and Ive been here 2 hours. This adults night is ok and I expected more. Appears quite the turnout for this event. There are a lot of people here at least 90 at the moment, and its only 9. I am very grateful for someone purchasing the skating rink. I was a little worried that it would close. Thank you for making the skate ring better! The djing was a little rocky.

Sarah has been amazing and very prompt with helping me find skates. She went way out of her way on a day she was closed to find skates my size and educate me about them. Most skates are sold out online and she had high quality skates at the ready. Sarah also has went out of her way, on a day off, to make an appointment with me during Covid to meet up so I could purchase items and help me out. You can tell skating is her passion and she is the person you want to talk to about education. My kids love this place and she keeps it very safe.

I really did like this place, but now i don’t think it’s very fair that teenagers under 18 don’t get to listen to R&B and be restricted to earlier times. It is nice that they handled covid well, but I wish it was like older times when they would play 90’s music and you could just hangout and have fun. I still love the place, but I will no longer go because of the service and new restrictions with age.

We rented Skateland for my daughters private birthday party and the lady working was the most rude obnoxious woman that I have ever met. She asked how many people and we said we paid for 20 but I didnt know if any parents would come in. She says you guys dont know how many people will be coming to the party you planned. the entire time all she was doing was yelling at the kids to put their masks over their nose and she was being rude to us when we were trying to get in and out of the place to carry party stuff. Then when I paid at the end she said to me , you guys had exactly 20 people so you didnt get ripped off, bye, whatever that was supposed to mean.

Nice place to skate in the past when it was open but not sure about the customer service skills of the new owner Sarah. They are closed due to Covid but are advertising that they are still selling skates. The owner agreed to meet me so I could buy some. Told her it was my first pair of skates so I wasnt very knowledgeable. Figured it would be okay to ask a couple questions. Our interaction turned from civil to rude in a split second! I guess I asked too many questions or 20 minutes was too long to look and try on? I am very soft spoken and she shouted at me Cant hear A WORD YOURE SAYING! So sorry to be SUCH an inconvenience but Im not going to drop over a $100 and not try it on or ask about the quality. Maybe learn to communicate better or hire someone to do your customer service for you. I have social anxiety myself but I still dont get rude, disrespectful or curt with people.

Went there for a birthday party and felt like I was in a mixture of Auschwitz and Russian Boot Camp- listening to Sarah (the owner with short hair) bully people around on the sidelines and literally shout at both parents and children alike. *Note: Limited review; sales only.I have not been in in sometime for an open session, but did drop by recently during the pandemic -- which has contributed to a complete depletion of skates availability; that, and something called TikTok, apparently...The owner had posted on social media that they were offering an outdoor skate setup on their rental fleet boots for a relative steal pricewise in order to meet this need. They were super quick to respond to my messages, and very flexible on timing of meeting me. When I arrived, they seemed very understanding/didnt talk down to me when I admitted I knew little about skates and was probably just going through a mid-life crisis. (= Despite Indiana being open at the time, re:the pandemic, the owner was very cognizant of physical distancing, passing materials with concern to this, appropriate mask wear, etc. It was also the first retail location I visited that had hand sanitizer *easily-accessible* as a customer.BOTTOM LINE:The skates have been awesome. The owner was helpful & attentive. As a note for others -- they were refinishing the floor when I was in, so something to look forward to!

This is a classic roller skating rink with a decent sound system for the great selection of music that comes with each skating session. Live DJ (who can take requests) for every skate session. The skate floor is in good condition and is always very clean. There are usually two employees working the skate floor helping to keep the traffic moving in a safe manner. The building itself is old, and the carpet and features could use an update, but currently the features are nostalgic.A ~six game arcade is available, as well as a ski ball table. This facility can host parties (for a fee) if reserved in advance.Skate rentals are only $1 with entry fee of $5, typically.Theres also a concession stand and a seated dining area. The concession stand features chips, pop, nachos and hot dogs.

We came here for a birthday party my daughter was invited to. when we arrived I dropped my wife and daughter off at the door and suddenly I had a car repeatedly honking their horn at me while my daughter was getting out of the car, when the got clear of the car I pulled up and into a parking space on the side of the building, this woman continued to honk at me as she drove by to park. Once she got out of her car I asked if we needed to talk over this situation to clarify what had transpired, with a hateful look in her eye she screamed “you were holding up traffic for no good reason” and went on to describe how there’s are plenty of parking spots to “get out of the way”. By this time I had recognized her as the owner of the place (because we have been there multiple times in the past) and tried to explain I was dropping off my daughter to use her facilities and if this is the way she treats her customers then we will not be back. She proceeded to get into my face and tell me “all this is your fault and she no longer wants me on her property”. She just got more and more obnoxious and rude as the minutes passed then went inside and got a coworker to come take a picture of my license plate because “she didn’t want me on her property again” then I explained to her that this was actually public property but she didn’t have to worry about me being on her property again. Such a very rude person who has regretfully given this wonderful place a bad name because of her rude tendencies and hateful actions, which is very sad because I have been coming here since I was a kid, but today WILL be my LAST visit. They have adult skates on Sunday night playing various themes each week, such as hip hop night, 70s night, etc. Very nice people running it and good old fashioned family fun. The lighting show and sound system is decent. Reasonable prices at the concession stand. They dont have enough special activities during the adult skates. They could do more reverse skates or backward skates. I have never been to the afternoon session so I dont know if they have any special activity during those sessions.

This was the worst experience I have ever had!!! When we arrived for my 7 year old niece’s birthday at 2pm the door was still locked so we stood outside talking and welcoming guests. Sarah opened the door for us a short time later, we all walked in. She didn’t even say hello or happy birthday instead she said “do you have your $60 deposit and a list of who all these kids are that just walked in with out paying?” My sister did indeed have a list and her money ready. Sarah was rude and hostile the whole time. She even told my sister she needed a list of all the adults that would be skating with their kids because people couldn’t just skate and not pay! We had no problem paying for the people skating but she didn’t even let usPut our stuff down before she started getting rude with my sister who was trying to give her the list of people that would be skating. At this point my sister said “have we done something wrong because you seem very upset and if we have I’m sorry.” She replied “ maybe I should just lock the doors and let people in one at time to make sure everyone pays and doesn’t just do what they want.” The group of party goers that had arrived so far we’re all nicely setting in the seating are wait to be told how to get our skates and stuff, it was not like people were running around and being crazy or anything! AND we were the only people in the whole place!! At this point my brother in law said “maybe we should just leave because I don’t think they want us here, this is crazy!” Sarah said “ I have other customers to deal with do whatever you want!” All the parents present we’re just as shocked as us and my poor sister was in tears saying “I don’t understand what we did wrong I was trying to pay and giver her the list and she just kept yelling at me!” My 7 year old niece was in tears at this point too. We walked back out to the lobby to leave only to find Sarah yelling at one of our guests as well. Our guest was saying “we literally just walked in and are planing to pay, why are you being so rude. You have no reason to talk to me like you are!” At this point one of the parents present walked over to the bowling ally to see if they could accommodate us and they said “of course!” We all ended up going next door and we have a good time. I just could not believe how rude the people were at this place and for no reason!!! I would not give them a penny of my money! Several of the parents present even said they were planning to book their kids party’s there until they witnessed Sarah in all her glory! DO NOT GIVE THIS PlACE YOUR MONEY!!! Horrible customer service! This Sarah lady is not someone that should be dealing with the public, zero people skills!!!!

I want to let all parents know that if you do decide to take your kids skating, beware of the changes. There is a new owner and she changed the rules. The kids now can have cell phones on the floor, wear hats or hoods up and can have ear buds in there ears. This causes problems because those skating dont pay attention to what they are doing. I see many kids getting hurt from these drastic changes. There is no limit to the music played and cursing is allowed as long as you dont cuss at someone. It has become an unsafe place to be.

I understand why, the scenarios for disaster are endless and they can all have very serious outcomes. The rules are smart and are there for a good reason. And the lady was very friendly and not patronizing at all about telling me. I apologized, got outside the rink and enjoyed my beverage at one of the tables. Everyone was safe, everyone was happy. 10 out of 10 in my book. I wish I could remember her name. The music was fun and well selected.I have been there during daytime hours to look at some skates and was also very well assisted.I would give it a 5 star review if their bathroom didnt have curtains but actual booths with doors and if the space between tables wasnt so small. People who kept breaking the rules and heckling the kid were allowed to keep returning to the rink even though they kept getting stopped. Very nice employees. The inside was remodeled awhile back, as well as getting new skates to rent out. The carpet and walls now match with a bright, colorful, fun pattern. Has arcade games for the ones who arent skating. Most arcade games have been there for decades. It also now has a skate shop right inside the building. You can purchase brand new skates, wheels, or minor maintenance there. They have a disco light that they use often. They play games during the skate session like limbo, hokey pokey, and race games. Winners recieve a little prize like a free drink. There is a consession stand where you can buy drinks, popcorn, nachos, candy, bosco sticks, and more. Food and drinks are not allowed past the tiled area in the back. You can rent the back area to have a birthday party during the skate sessions. If your child falls or needs ice for small injury, just ask the lady behind the consession stand. Parents can help beginners in the inside area of the rink, or the red oval. Helpers can go onto the rink wearing thier regular shoes if they dont have dirt and stuff that will fall off onto the rink. No cell phones or dangly clothing, food, trip hazards out on the skate rink. If you have young children, I do not recommend taking them to the late session that starts at 9pm on the weekends. That is for intermediate skaters. Lots of people skating fast and music thst isnt cut- or radio friendly- makes for a questionable environment for younger ones. They do have an employee/s out skating on the rink that keep an eye out on skaters. If needed, they blow a whistle to get your attention (over loud music), and tell you what needs changed or help people who fall. Usually minor things like cell phones for pictures are out on the rink when it is a hazard. When you arrive, you tell the person behind the window how many people you are paying for, and how many need to rent skates or brought there own. If you need to rent skates, he hands you a ticket. You go into the building and take your shoes off then go up to the appropriate window, marked boys and girls or men and women. Give them your ticket and shoes, tell them the size needed. He takes your shoes and ticket and hands you the skates. The price went up from $5 per skater, $4 if you bring your own skates (has to have wheels never used on concrete or outside) up to $8 per skater, $6 if you bring your own skates. If I could give a 4.5 rating, I would. The price is still decent and affordable, but at the price of $5 for decades children all over our community could easily earn $5 and go skating. That little extra cost could potentially be a barrier for those who earn thier way, or parents with multiple children. Overall it is a fun, safe way to pass the time that also provides excersize when younger ones dont even realize it!!
