Wide selection of quality merchandise and handmade stoneware in a beautiful setting. They carry a variety of pottery with different glazes, mix and match for a personal touch. Gifts include ornaments, seasonal items, table dressing, dish towels, and more. We stopped in to buy gifts for friends and ended up purchasing some pieces for our home. Be sure to check in the back of the store for reduced items (we scored a nice candle) and dont miss the working factory around back.

My wife, Doris wrote the following: Love this pottery, made specifically here in Bennington Vt. Each piece goes through the hands of 6 to 8 potters. David Gil at the 1939 NY worlds fair demonstrated clay throwing technique that creates these unique pieces. He started Bennington Potters in 1948. This store is over 5,000 sq. Has 65 individual pieces and 14 different glazes. I especially like the Blue Agate setting. Of note Michelle Obama chose the Blue Agate pattern to use in their private residence while in the white house. Before I left, I purchased a Blue Agate Bannenton, and two Cheese Please Snack Plates with Bistro Plate Mouse Spreader. Very pleased.

This is a fun place to browse on a rainy day. You have to admit that the entrance is pretty unique. A little pricey, but lots of fun gifts to browse. I give bonus points for the beautiful kitties in the front room. :)

I own many dishes & bowls from here, expensive but stylish & my only complaint would be i had to exchange a heart shaped nacho plate that was slightly fractured... i was kinda put-off having to buy an identical replacement (i thought they should have simply exchanged my dish)... the saleswoman said “you know its just clay+water” an i replied “ya so hook me up with a replacement its a $50 nacho plate”... i still like to shop there but they should be nicer to longtime customers like me in the future

As I was driving through a rough snowstorm yesterday I saw an old Bennington Pottery sign along my route from NH to PA. I needed a break anyhow and easily found the factory and store. Never did I think that the place on a Sunday evening would actually be open! The site looked very inviting and I was even given a tour of the factory. The factory turned out to be mind blowing with so many custom engineered tools and amazing pieces everywhere. The tour guide was great and knew everything about the history and operations of the shop-20 plus years at the factory! Thanks again for the tour and a much needed break from a bad winter weather drive. A highly recommended stop!!!

Great place to stop on the way through to NY.

One of our favorite artisanal stops in all of New England. The designs vary from country to more chic and work in a range of decors. Quality is first rate. They do a great catalogue business too.

The pottery is great, useful, and durable. Many styles and colors to choose from. These are the perfect gift that you can get someone new pieces year after year, just be sure to keep track of what you got them. A great selection of non-pottery items as well. The factory is also worth a quick look to see how it is all made.

Place is very nice, the pottery stuff is also really good and rare to get anywhere else. Which brings me to the downside of this business. I am from Europe and do not have an US credit card. You cannot buy anything online without a US credit card - seriously, Bennington??? What kind of customer service is this? This is ridiculous in 2018. So if from the non-US either drive to their store (and bring cash) or you might not be able to get one of their pieces.

A hidden, not-to-be-missed gem of Bennington. Most products are locally made and of exquisite quality with very fair prices for a local resource. Great place for gifts for every occasion.

You can watch crafts persons making clay dishware and pottery. Nice shop that can take about an hour to browse. Okay prices (but worth it, I think) with some really great things, beautifully crafted for gifts/keepsakes. Wife and I bought fired earthenware pottery pieces for ourselves and a dish set for our nieces wedding gift. Nowhere near our normal haunts, but if were in lower Vermont, well be back!

Beautiful pottery as well as lots other home decor. Not happy that they had 2 cats in a cage...one howled nearly the whole time we were there. Im glad my husband wasnt with us as he is highly allergic to cats. The wrapped our items beautifully.

The tour was informative with a couple people working at the time. It is a factory with molds, machines, a huge kiln, and pottery made there for sale. Worthwhile if youve never been to a pottery factory. Fun trip.

Im giving two stars because the courtyard is pretty and in the winter the fireplace is beautiful. But when I ask if something is made in house. Like the fish and chips and you say no, then I ask if the potstickers are and you say no and then I ask what is made in house and the burgers (buns are not) then I wonder why I didnt just go McDonalds and eat cheap crap of a quarter of the price.

It gets one star for being pretty, but their dishes and mugs are really not functional and forget about using the dishwasher unless you want to literally see your money go down the drain! I spent over $1,200 on a whole new set of dishes and mugs and stuff keeps breaking! A mug just broke in the dishwasher for no good reason! I keep noticing cracks on dishes after the dishwasher as well. Never mind actually dropping one from a mere 2ft coffee table onto a rug. It breaks before it even hits the rug! My husband and i call it the jinxed dish set because we have had it less than a year and soooo many pieces have broken!Their customer service department was quite curt and unhelpful as well. For the price of these mugs and dishes i would definitely advise looking elsewhere unless you do not plan on washing them in the dishwasher and are just going to use them for decorative purposes.

Lots of cheap imports and gift shop items...not really a pottery store like it used to be...must be new owners just looking for a tourist shop.
