Its OK for a brief visit. The mill on the other side is pretty impressive, and has a lot of history. Why 3 stars only then? Well, the city or the owners fenced in both ends of the bridge, so there is absolutely no view of the waterfalls or the mill. Not visitor-friendly at all. If you are feeling adventurous, duck walk under the bridge on the west shore for a good view of the mill and the falls. As a bonus, you will see how the bridge is constructed from underneath.
There is a few reviews here on a two lane covered bridge. that is Pulp Mill Covered Bridge, Weybridge, VT 05753 and its about 95 miles north of this bridge. this is a nice place but it wont wow you. i love any covered bridges so this was fun for me. they did try to make it a little more pleasureful by adding some history signing and parking spaces so you can enjoy it.there are 3 of the same covered bridges all within 1.8 miles of each other. Henry Covered Bridge has the nicest surrounds and Paper Mill Village Bridge seem to have the most history. all 3 are well keep and nice to see if you in the area
Happy to find this. Good information at site.
Beautiful hidden gem. Easy hike in.
Not long trails. Weeds and brush
Another one of the must visit Covered Bridges of New England. The Paper Mill Bridge is also known as the Bennington Falls Covered Bridge that crosses the Walloomsac River on Murphy Road. Built in 1889, it is northwest of Bennington, is adjacent to a former paper mill building with waterfalls. While in the area you can also visit the nearby Silk Covered Bridge. Be careful of traffic, there is little parking available. Walk above the bridge and view the upper back waters. You can walk below the bridge along the path that follows the river. No trespassing signs for the other side.
Nice enough bridge. Surprisingly good signage on road on the residential side
Bridge is just another example of what happened in the past when they started the program. This device may have been used to help people change their life.
Very cute ..off the main street..
One of three within 5 minutes of each other. Make sure you have a fishing license.
Supposedly, the couple who bought Paper Mill Tissue were supposed to turn it into a hydro-electric facility. Never happened, but the dams and the bridge are great! There are trails that lead you down to the water.
