Good array of collections. Recommend for a day activity as its not an overwhelmingly large space but special/interesting pieces that youll probably take time to read about and take in all there is to see. Front desk manager was kind and personable.

We came here to see the collection of Grandma Moses paintings. I enjoyed seeing her paintings and learning more about the artist. One of my favorite items was any ad from Gimbels department store... trust me... its hilarious.I enjoyed all of the museum. It was an eclectic mix. Very worth a day trip out.

Some really neat paintings, exhibits, and other unique artwork like paintings on fungus. Very specific to the town of Bennington. It was neat! I would probably check out the upstairs by myself first before bringing children.

Besides beautiful green hills and many other things, the town of Bennington, Vermont, is famous for the battle of 1777, stoneware pottery, and Granma Moses. The Museum gives you cultural information about these and several other related topics for you to walk out almost an expert. So a visit to this historic temple is recommended in your itinerary of this rural tristate shire of New England.

This is a really nice museum. It has outside walking paths. The exhibits were well set up. Some high lights were Grandma Moses school house and artwork, a gorgeous car made in Vermont, and Vermont pottery. We got there later in the day and had to rush the end. It would probably take 2-3 hours to enjoy it all at a leisurely pace.

Museum staff was helpful and friendly. The Grandma Moses exhibit was fun, light-hearted and the kids loved that the school house was interactive. It was so thoughtful for the museum to have an exhibit were kids are able to touch and play similar to the children in Mosess era. The Bennington Museum is an amazing little gem in southern Vermont, specializing in art & artifacts of the state. Our first encounter was in 2016 when the museum mounted an exhibit of Milton Averys early paintings of Vermont landscapes produced from his experiences there from 1935-43. Avery had an uncanny ability to deconstruct images to a bare minimum of information necessary to perceive the subject. While predating his Color Field years, the paintings still employed a fascinating range of colors, quite provocative (the catalog is still available). The museums presentation was superb. This year we were treated to a tour of paintings by Anna Mary Robertson Grandma Moses. Curator Jamie Franklin is incredibly insightful in his ability to convey the immense talent of this remarkable American artist (catalog also available). All art lovers need to put this place on their list!
