Very cool brewery and tour. We got lucky and got a private tour giving us direct attention from our tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and adorable! (Reminded us of a favored family member) The brewery has a lovely story and admirable history. I appreciate the owners values to the process as a whole, especially including the employees in the growth from their efforts. I loved the personal touches added everywhere making it a second home to the employees to be proud of. I enjoyed the brew creating area, where the magic happens with new flavors. Everything was extremely clean and well cared for. Everyone working was super friendly and happy to be there. I highly recommend stopping through. (I remember selling this beer back in the early 90s as a bartender, and now I see where it all began, very cool!)

They have opened the Mountain Room upstairs, so its cool to go up there. Theyve got the check-in and social distancing down and that makes it enjoyable to try new brews or revisit their excellent flagship beers. Thanks Deschutes!

Terrible service. Bad attitude. There are plenty of beer pubs in the area like Boneyard, and they treat people of color and female a lot more respectful than this one. One of the staff (long silver hair) was rude and didn’t do his job when we asked which light beer he would recommend. Meanwhile his coworker heard what we asked and poured us a beer sample.

Our server, Howard, was so nice!!! We made the mistake of ordering pizzas for takeout with the plan of sitting down and eating at the taproom (we weren’t supposed to do that I guess),ordering a few beers, and then speeding back out onto the road (we’re stopping through form MN!), and Howard was so kind about it! He even gave us some great recommendations for things to see and do in Oregon! The manager and hostess weren’t as forgiving. Howard needs a raise. Thanks for giving us a dose of Minnesota Nice, Howard!!

The app crashed earlier and stole my passion at Deschutes. But I definitely recommend the place. Great service with great variety of beer. Nitro red chair was my favorite but everything else were great as well. You can also do a quick tour at this awesome facility before 4pm which might gain you special excess to certain types of beer. Unfortunately we didn’t have time today.

We found out about this location from one of the servers at the brewpub located just a few miles down the road. We decided to check it out for the $5 per person 45 minute long tour (you also get your choice of 1 of 3 different beers to bring with you on the tour) it was a really cool experience, staff was great not to mention a plethora of deschutes memorabilia and gear. Personally I liked the vibe at the brewery a little more than the brewpub the day before. Theyre both great in there own right though.

She showed us and let us try the different grains they use in the process and also touch and smell the hops! Its quite a production and well worth the time to check out. Next time Im there, Ill definitely try the Pilot Tour, to try all the experimental beers theyre working on!

Lots of variety of beers and ciders. Tours available at all times of the year. Call for the schedule. Tasting room has lots of souvenirs and the options do do a flight of beer tasters (I believe six) or just have a pint. If you buy a growler they’ll fill it for you on the spot. Nice low key place to try their variety. Stop in for a pint!

The website says “If you’re unsure of your schedule and unable to commit to a specific time, walk-ins are welcome where space is available – pop on in and chat with one of our guides to book same-day tours.” We were sporadically visiting Bend, so as recommended we stopped by and asked about walk-ins. Extremely ignorant older man at the front said “We prefer people book tours online” I mentioned what the website said about walk-ins, so I just wanted to check. He said “Well I guess it looks like that didn’t work out for you today since we’re booked.” Why you would have someone so ignorant be the first person people interact with is beyond me. Maybe hire some friendly employees and not a miserable old man. Took our business elsewhere, and I’ll make sure to never try a walk-in, or book a tour again.

I feel like this location is best if youre taking the tour. We had our 2-year-old with us and just wanted to do a tasting. There are only a few high tables with stools tucked in with the gift shop area. The employees were friendly and the tasting was good, but if youre wanting to sit and relax for awhile, Id recommend the public house location. Cool to peek in and see some of the brew process though!

Came in three years ago and it was great: free flight of tasters, awesome merch, very excited and knowledgeable staff. The tour of the Brewery was amazing and I was surprised at the volume of beer produced - 93 million bottles a year. I enjoyed the Jubilale which is a signature beer but was not a fan of their lager. Impressive place and distribution for being in Bend, OR - a town of 81,000.

This is for the tasting room attached to their production building, not the restaurant which is in town. The tasting is complimentary and you can choose 4 of the ~ 20 different beers they offer. Note this is a tasting room only - no food and you can only buy beer to go.

Great experience doing the brewery tour. The knowledge of the tour guides was fantastic and the experience was definitely unique to Deschutes. The best parts are probably getting the free tasters (on top of some extras when they open some barrel aged beers) and finding out some of the fun facts about the brewery (like there being a taproom in the break area that is labeled as a restroom!). Definitely would do this on your trip to Bend.

Just stopped in for a souvenir glass and a pint, of course stayed for more! Couldn’t do the tour (book in advance recommended!), but the bartender, Jason, was entertaining enough so we didn’t feel like we missed out at all! They are super easygoing about free tastings and have some really yummy reserve and pub pours (one of which we took home). Great variety of souvenirs without resorting to a million kitschy thing that they just slap their logo on ;) No food onsite, but a very short walk down the hill they’ve got a very cool fake marina setup with a couple food trucks and of course more beer! We had a great hour and a half, and found this brewery to be very laidback and not super gimmicky/touristy as I had expected.

I have been on many brewery tours over the years but none compare to the one we were given at Deschutes. Our tour guide loved his job and Deschutes and it showed in his tour. He was excited (but not in an obnoxious way) about his job and showing us what he does. He explained the process in a way that it finally made sense but I didnt feel like he thought I was 5. Not to mention the beer samples werent a half bad perk either. If you are ever in Bend I highly suggest heading in for a brewery tour.
