Really nice park with lots of walking trails. We spent about and hour and a half and only saw a part of the available trails. There is a stream running through the park and they have view points along the trail which make great photo spots. The porta potty needed to be cleaned and emptied which knocked a star off my review.
Can someone somewhere tell me how to access this park? I followed 3 different routes and ended up in someone’s driveway. Very frustrating. How does one get there? Looked at visit Bend and google maps. Help.
This is from Riley Ranch nature preserve. Awesome place for a great hike.
Beautiful nature preserve, glad its protected, save the water!!!
Nice private hike over the canyon. Only downside is you have to park in a nearby neighborhood and walk in. Not good for kids because of steep drop-off spots.
Good access to an urban trail that offers good trails and some nice views of the deschuttes. Good length at maybe 4.5-5 miles roundtrip for us.
Beautiful wide open spaces and gorgeous view! Ive enjoyed lovely days and winter snow too!
This is a fabulous place but difficult to access, as there is no parking anywhere nearby (within a mile). The egalitarian in me resents it. This trail was paid for by the PUBLIC, but only the wealthy who live on the private roads bordering it can easily access it. The Bend Parks and Recreation District has done an amazing job proactively acquiring and preserving public lands. Cheers to them for heeding the writing on the wall.
Beautiful views of the Cascades, Black Butte and Deschutes river. Just be respectful of the homes around the trail.
Really unique geology and beautiful views.
A gem off the beaten path. Dog free
Mother Nature at its best
Beautiful trail, its a shame theyve allowed so many insanely sized houses -i mean, how many rooms do you need??-on the rim of the river gorge. Bit of an eyesore. Other then that: great views of the river as well as the mountains.
There isnt a grand entry, nor is there anywhere to park your car. When you start your hike, youre in an upper class neighborhood that isnt so sure about the stranger going for a hike. This place deserves a public entry that allows you to keep your car off the main road because its a beautiful part of the Deschutes River.
My favorite place to hike no bikes or dogs!!!
Nice place to hike
The Deschutes River Trail is a Bend Oregon gem. It is easily accessed from Archie Briggs road and you can go north or south from there. Northbound offers epic river views that start about one mile in. The trail ends at Awbrey Glen which is a shame. There is so much more to see. Be sure to do this one.
Beautiful place to ride, walk or run.
One of the coolest trails to run or walk on in Bend with some awesome views of the river and mountains on a clear day.
Beautiful view.
Compared to other scenic hikes, this one is average.
Peaceful sounds
