I happened to arrive during a chili dinner fund-raiser. Didnt know about it, but they ended up waving me into the museum for free! Lots of interesting displays housed in a former school building. Well worth the visit (they also have their own parking lot which is nice with the crowded downtown parking situation.)

The Deschutes Museum Haunted History Walk was a blast! The guide had history, stories, haunting tidbits and accompanying photos at each stop.I thought it was cool at several stops where there were haunting tales, there was a light on in the window.Very friendly volunteers inside the museum too!

Engaging staff, stellar exhibits that invite you to lose yourself for hours. Im now a member, considering a move be to be closer to Portland for school. Very lucky to visit on a reception/presentation eve. After- hours access was sweet!!!

Wonderful old school house. Variety of displays. Not to crowded so you can enjoy each display. A few hands on items which I always enjoy because it is fun to touch and handle things.
