Expansive grassy areas with many large established trees for shade. Hiking trail around the boundary of the park. Historical pioneer house can be viewed through the windows. The renovated barn is ideal to rent for smaller events and gatherings. There is also a community garden, low water use educational garden, area for dogs to roam leash-free, and undeveloped areas for exploring natural high desert habitats. Great for nature play for kids. Ideal for a short walk with people or dogs. Overall lovely park. Bathroom is a port a potty on-site.

Super pretty park, very green and vibrant. Its dog friendly and is made to let your companions run around. There is also what appears to be a community garden but I do not live by this park so Im not sure.THERE IS NO BATHROOM. I found that out when I really needed to use one. So heads up guys :)

I have mixed feelings about this dog park. It is largely grass with plenty of trees for shade if your dog tends to overheat. The other visitors have been pleasant. The downside for me is that it isnt fully fenced and there isnt a separate area for the small/larger dogs.

My children’s school held an event here recently. I was very impressed by how clean the grounds were. Even though it had rained the day before, there were no muddy patches. The grass was green and very well manicured. The building, inside bathrooms and even the outhouse out by the street, were very clean. It is a nice lay out for any type of event, a person could make it as formal looking as they wanted say for a wedding or keep it casual for a big bbq. I was very impressed.

Awesome little park with a community garden. Went and had a little picnic with the dogs today. Just know a lot of people let their dogs run around off leash. We had some random dog come outta nowhere and bother us a little. Other than that, amazing little spot.

I went here to meet a friend. In hadnt known of this park and was pleasantly surprised how beautiful it was. There is a huge community garden there as well as a OSU plant display of lots of different plants to look and learn about. The park is a off leash park but is not totally enclosed...but it very nice with a few picnic tables. There is a huge barn on the property that has rental opportunities and events in. I will definitely go back

Beautiful Park! So many happy dogs playing with their owners. Very disappointed someone hit a red Dodge pickup doing damage with much broken glass. There is no way a person could unknowingly do that kind of damage. It vehicle that did the damage was parked in a handicapped space. Very rude to not even leave a note. Im so sorry for the gentleman upon returning to his vehicle.

Excellent large off-leash dog area. Very well-maintained with numerous shade trees and an expansive, healthy lawn. Lots of room for dogs to run, and there are almost always folks and their dogs there taking advantage of it. Two doggie bag stations and one dog watering station. A large community garden is adjacent to the dog park area, and a short trail runs up a hill at one end of the park and comes back down at the other end. Very nice little park!

Heads up, its not fenced so if your dog likes to run off or as bad at coming when you call then be cautious coming to this dog park. Dogs and their owners there are always friendly though.

This place is near and dear to my heart, and visiting it brings me more joy than there are adequate words to describe. My parents (Jim and Shirley Anderson) lived here, in 1957, and this was the place I was brought home to, shortly after I was born (August 27, 1957)...yes, we lived here, on the place that had been a real working ranch for many years, owned by Dean and Lily Hollingshead (real pioneers, and truly wonderful people), who also lived on the ranch. It was a childhood like no other, one that I would not trade for all the money in the world. As far back as I can remember, there were ALWAYS horses. Both Dean and Lily just loved horses. And there was a (very functional) outhouse. :) For many years, after we left the place (in 1963), my (paternal) grandmother (Harriet Curly Anderson) lived there, as well. When I would come to visit her in the summers, I would spend an entire day, exploring every corner of the ranch. When I attended college at COCC in 1976 - 1977, I recall many a morning, sitting with her at her kitchen table, drinking a cup of coffee and watching the horses running in the fields near the (big) barn. I am SO GRATEFUL for their foresight, turning it into a city park, with a place for a community garden...and a truly beautiful barn, that has been turned into a gorgeous meeting place. I can still recall the horses in their stalls, in that same HUGE BARN...all the sites, sounds and smells. Visiting it, all these years later, always gives me a deep sense of melancholy....and connection. THANK YOU to the city of Bend, Oregon, for maintaining and caring for this awesome piece of land...for keeping it protected for future generations...just as Dean and Lily would have wanted you to.
