I always enjoy going on walks through the forest. Beautiful place with plenty of interesting wildlife and plants. Be careful though, banana spiders like to build their webs over the trail. I ran into a couple and had them crawling up and down my back. Other sights include deer, snakes, and weird mushrooms.

The trail stays flooded long after it rains and theres an insane amount of giant spiders on the ground and webs across the trail. I dont mind the woods or spiders but I didnt like stopping because they were literally everywhere. There were tons of crawfish holes on the trail which tells me its often wet. And like others said, its easy to lose the trail in a few places. I went around once and then ended up finishing my run on the road instead. It could be a good trail when its dry and if it was used more.

Hate to rate this at all, as construction/trail development on this park isnt complete. The BREC website is misleading--it claims the park has a primitive trail 1.2 miles long. In reality, theres a small parking lot you could almost miss from the road, a picnic bench, and trail markers for less than half a mile of an obviously not well-traveled trail. Before you go about half a mile, you come upon a bridge that appears to be unfinished (see photo). Past this bridge, I could not find a discernible trail or any signs indicating the trail continues. Since this is a work in progress, there are no public restrooms or water fountains, either. I wouldnt recommend this one until BREC finishes updating it. It was probably affected by the 2016 flood we experienced in the area. If you do plan to visit this park, though, dont necessarily go by the Google maps navigation. Itll take you further down the road, past the entrance to the park.
